Front brake pad life, auto trans
Well I'll be darned. Wondered where that name came from. Always figured a lot of names in the NW came from something in the past. I grew up on Sauvies Island and that goes back to Lewis and Clark although not necessarily that configuration. Over in the couve we have Mill plain, 4th plain blvds and others like that. Sure it's same thing .

Allowable play in ball joints
I have Nitto Duragrapplers on mine. 285/75x17, 3rd Gen rims. Weight rated @ 3,970 lbs. Like them very well and seem to wear great. Can't really tell since I have 7 on rims and rotate all of them. Gonna run the oldest ones out this year. That happened because I got hit in rear axle when some kid was playing with his phone and ran a red. Knocked rear axle out on drivers side of my '01 and while it did not damage the wheel the sidewall was punctured. I ended up buying a second set of wheels and another set of new tires. There were about 40,000 on first set and looked to easily go 60-70 plus.

Installing batteries ...any cautions
My folks had a rig like that but a different model Dodge. Really sucked for Dad. Glad I never had to deal with it for him.

47re Trans Service Tips and Tricks
I asked Tony (RIP) when building VB's for him why they cost so much since the mods seemed small and simple to me. I will be first to admit of all the conversations over several months and all he attempted to teach, he, Dave Goerend, Jon and perhaps a couple others know waaay more than I ever will. His answer about that was he spent 10 years and about half million dollars (yes, you read that right) developing his VB.

I made the drive twice for him to do 2 for me. Well worth the drive.

Death wobble is found in even other vehicles
I had a death wobble on a loaded Peterbilt from the tag axle. Going around on ramp to I-84 about 20 MPH and I happened to glance in the mirror and see a bit of wobble on that axle and about that time it let loose. I would never have believed it could shake a semi tractor so hard I nearly banged my head into the side window. Stopped an picked tag up, called dispatcher to tell him what happened and let him know I will haul this load because I know how to get around the scale and then I am coming straight to the shop. Turns out shop had been working on this problem and that's why I was in it instead of a regular. They knew I would handle it OK. Just wish someone had warned me. I never did find out what fixed it but I drove this same rig at one point again with no trouble.

Tie rod ends
I used a Lukes link on my '01 track bar and it worked really well. It has an adjustment if it ever gets loose which I may have taken up once. Would sure use one again.

NP241 DHD tailshaft bushing part number
If you are near a Six states they usually are very good about this type of thing. Here they sometimes know the part # right off the top of their head and usually in stock. At least that's how it happened with my '67 W200. I would think this would be easier.

2001 24v revs like a run away
Since you had it part way down one thing that could cause it do runaway type deal is if the throttle cable is misplaced in the bracket. DAMHIKT. I would sure check and make sure it is seated correctly and square. Hope this might be helpful for you or someone else in the future.

2000 3500 no power,sucks fuel like it's free
I reupped again but not sure how much that helps if it goes for the site. I would send a check directly if I could.

2000 3500 no power,sucks fuel like it's free
I would donate for the common good and have in the past but I can only do it with either a check or a visa card. I understand there is no real way to use either right now.

DAP Injector Upgrade 7 x 0.010 @ 320 Bar
I have seen both those before. Really cool rig. Too bad it isn't a tandem axle but that's just me. I was told they came in a 275 and 320 horse but have also seen some say there was a 300 horse model earlier than the 320 I have no idea just think they are very cool and I had to watch the vids just for the sake of hearing one again. I can still remember that sound when I was driving the one I had for a time. It had been a log truck prior to 5th wheel service. Still had the log cab guard on it. Extremely tight clean cab and wish I had it today. Number of years later I was FF for Portland, OR and was assigned at a station close to the mill where I had driven this rig. Eventually they contracted with PFB for fire response. On one of our prefires we were shown a pump house they had to fill the yard system since tank water would not cut it and our boats were quite a ways out. Lo and behold what was powering the pump but an old gear grinder. It got fired up at least one of the times I was there but of course I was most likely the only one that knew what that whole deal with the motor was.

DAP Injector Upgrade 7 x 0.010 @ 320 Bar
Hey that almost sounds like an old 2 six bits cummins gear grinder. I had the privilege of driving one years ago-'54 KW 5x3. Didn't appreciate it so much back then what it was although had an old timer clue me in. Wish I had paid more attention.

Recommendation on Trailer Tires
Leaky, sage advice for sure. I try to never stay close to a big rig although overall they are usually pretty safe. BUT, one just never knows. Another thing in particular I avoid is any tanker and anything with placards.

Recommendation on Trailer Tires
I have had failures on semis before one of which was explosive. New tire too not a cap. Didn't sound like a stick of dynamite, sounded like a whole darn box. So loud I nearly jumped hard enough to hit ceiling since it was a front drive tire. And yes I bumped/checked tires every stop I made so came as a real surprise. It was loud enough the car ahead of me stopped and was checking his tires. I was approaching the Corvallis exit on I-5 and I was plenty far back from that rig. It was not very funny but I was able to limp it off the freeway since I still had another good drive tire. A few years ago I had an uncapped drive tire peel the tread off somewhere on 1-84. Tire didn't blow but made plenty of racket so immediately knew something went sideways. Waited a long time to get back on the road since that was kind of nowhereville. Can't recall brand now but should have been pretty good tires. Fairly sure the peeled one was a Goodyear since they always bought new tires even for the trailers and almost always Goodyear.

Mine was a '64 330 Dodge post former OSP car w/383/3speed. Eventually 440/auto/3.54 Dana w/RT seats and console. Wish I had it back.

Body work.....She's getting there
I spent about 4 years part time hauling crushed cars out of wrecking yards. Loved it. And since the cars were considered ours when they were in the crush pile we could pull parts sometime. Was glad I had one of the sleeper rigs since the one without didn't have very good place to haul much.

RV lighting LEDs
I have a Toyhauler that just turned a year old in January and every light inside and outside is LED. They are great. Tons of light everywhere. Still have old hauler with incandescent and man are they dim by comparison. I'm sure you will love them once you get kinks worked out. Not sure how come the pic is sideways but I can't seem to change it, =( =(

24v KDP Question and Flywheel Question
Since any year of the 2nd Gens can actually need to be tabbed when I pulled the radiator on my '01 I checked it all out. Had the stepped case and should be OK but I still didn't trust that it wouldn't back out. I made stepped tab so I could make sure it couldn't come out. Also locktited the bolt and gives you chance to locktite all the others you can reach which could come loose and fall out. Hope to do same on current '02 sometime this spring/summer.
