  1. Not that I know of.... Sounds more like a flow issue to me. Like something is plugging a passage and until the engine is revved high enough the pump can't build the pressure it's supposed to.
  2. It sounds like the power steering pump isn't pumping enough fluid at idle. What brand did you go with? If it makes you feel any better I'm on my 4th power steering pump in 2 years. After a couple months the whole system moans at low rpms. I've yet to find my problem.
  3. Sounds really low. How bad is the blowby? 99.99% of the time they are not all going to be "exactly" the same. I think you need to talk to the mechanic and have him do it in front of you.
  4. Never broken anything in the Tcase or trans on mine yet.... BUT when something doesn't work exactly how I want it to I'll tear it apart. Doesn't bother me a bit! Might want to check the FSM and see if you need a bearing puller. I can't remember.
  5. Does the steering moan at all when you turn?
  6. Ugh... I've had it out and in pieces three times BUT if I can manage I'll be down in Springs with Nick One of us should be able to snap some photos! Have you ever pulled one apart Mike?
  7. I hope for your sake the cylinders and pistons are okay.... I'll move this to the correct section. Keep us updated
  8. When I put new toys on it makes it hard for me to pull my foot out of it Thank you for the tip though! Thanks CSM. I knew a couple of guys in here would have some good ideas!
  9. Any tips on finding an exhaust leak somewhere in the twins?? There's soot all over under the hood. I know the secondary to manifold has a small leak on the engine side but there's a bunch of soot on the intermediate cold pipe between the turbos and on the primary. I planned on washing it and driving it easy to see if I could find small amounts of soot coming from somewhere. I guess that's what happens when the drive pressure spikes well over 100....
  10. Brothers is an 05 6 speed 4x4 2500. It weights 7,500 and mine was 6,800
  11. Tried that... blew out the tappet cover gasket. Most here aren't running 70psi of boost though so take that fwiw. I have my front one extended down as well. I'd like to run it back to where the 12v cover dumps at some point. Also not the dang 12v covers like to leave at least 1 drop every time you stop!
  12. Not the same case as my brother's CR...... Trucks were dead even until 75 or so. Then he pulled away.
  13. I think he means it'll phase out like ATF did back in the day. I personally don't see that happening though.
  14. Brian, any word on when this will start creeping back to the early CR time? (Specifically 03 and 05) I'm interested. I've also got an issue with a smarty touch. Could you send me a PM please. Thanks!
  15. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. I know mine idles quieter and gets better mileage with the 2-stroke in it. I'd love to see a disassembled pump at 150K with 2 stroke and without 2 stroke. Never will, but it would be interesting.
  16. Not really. I did a bunch of testing, rebuilt the motor, changed the tappet cover gasket etc. I waited a bit to tap the wire. I'd say at least a couple months to make sure everything is going to function properly. I did say the right spot.... I'm not saying everyone should do it. I've had my pump off at least 5 times and never messed it up.
  17. Industrial injection will void the warranty. I've never used a puller to remove a VP or a CP3. Just put a prybar in the right spot and give it a pop. Doesn't hurt the pump and comes out just fine.
  18. you guys and your small injectors! Mine is mad if it's below 40 and doesn't get grids. It'll start down into the single digits but it sure doesn't like it.
  19. 4 years isn't much for batteries.... you'll know when they're starting to go.
  20. Don't replace, instead diagnose When it's cold enough for the grids to kick on, flip the key then jump out and feel the grid. You should be able to feel some amount of heat coming off of them. Plus you should be able to hear the relay shut off when the WTS light goes out. If the relays are working, test to make sure the grids are actually receiving the electricity.
  21. For those hard, stuck spots you can use starting fluid. It melts the grease away, but it gets expensive quick!
  22. The biggest downside of getting fuel at trucker stations is the lack of filtration at the tank.... many only have screens instead of filters.
  23. Any and every plug! Unplug, apply inside female end, reconnect.
