  1. The Grand Forks area is real close to where the moose seem to be disappearing. Even here in NE Minnesota the moose population is so low that ALL moose hunting has been cancelled for the last two years and no prediction when or if it will happen again. Biologists claim they can't figure out why they are dying, but it just seems too coincidental to me that the wolf population is large enough for them to be hunted. Even on Isle Royal the moose population is real low, but the wolf population is real high, yet the biologists claim there is no correlation? On a side note, if you get some fresh moose meat it will be real tough unless you either pressure cook it or put it in a cooler and let it sit for a couple weeks. It forms kind of a "rind" on it. Cut that off and the rest will be so tender it is almost too tender to cut up right. Once cooked you can cut it with a fork.
  2. How is it a scam when there are no road taxes on the fuel? How are the roads supposed to get repaired? The only scam I know of is the price of the red fuel is higher than if you removed the road tax from the clear.
  3. You guys make me like my P-7100 more and more.......
  4. I had a 1994 Ram sitting in my garage for TWO YEARS with a full tank of diesel. Fill what you can, drain what you can't and you should be OK.
  5. That sucks when they feel that way. The dealeship that I purchased two cars from (gave them $42k in 45 days) was like that. I went to another dealer (about 3 hrs away and employee owned) and they treated me great! They will even honor my 70k mile service plan. Sometimes you need to shop around to get decent service.
  6. Well, imho, nuclear can be quite safe, but there are others that don't think so. The real problem is how to dispose of the spent fuel. There has been some talk of drilling disposal wells in my area since we are one of the most geologically stable areas in the country, but I don't think it will fly. Far as the 20 year old windmills, chances are the technology that they use is probably antiquated by today's standard and the retro fitting costs are most likely quite high, high enough to not be feasable.
  7. Nope. All the wiring goes on the outside of the column.
  8. The way it works for the power is all of it goes to "the grid". Then it gets sold to whoever wants to buy it weather they are in Maine or Oregon or Nebraska. The way the grid is everyone pumps into it and then you pay what ever supplier for the power.
  9. So, are they what you wanted?
  10. If I recall properly, the 100 pound bottles are required to be transported upright. They should weigh right around 175 pounds full. I think you could just lay the bottle against the tailgate and lift on the bottom and slide it in. Then stand it upright and tie it in. For what you need I would do that rather than tie up bed space with a crane. You would probably be changing bottles about once every three weeks to a month depending on temperatures.
  11. Ok, I will give you Golf and Beer, but the other two are longer than four letters.......
  12. Just keep one thing in mind....... WORK is a FOUR LETTER WORD....
  13. Well, I got an e-mail from the shop that screwed up my tranny. Seems they want to get this behind them so they said they would cut me a check. Time will tell........
  14. Generally that causes a bunch of noise. I had a GM 400 flex plate come out in two pieces and had no vibration.
  15. Yep.That is what I was getting at. Call Goerend Transmission and see if they have and authorized builders in your area. www.goerend.com
  16. Yabba, from what I have been reading when I needed tires last spring the Maxxis 8008 tires have about the best rating amongst RVrs. I also looked online and the best price I found was a place called Simple Tire. I ordered the wrong ones by mistake and they took them back (I only had to pay shipping) and sent me the ones I wanted. Your trailer should use 225/75R15 tires. Here are the ones I have: http://simpletire.com/maxxis-225-75r15-tl15711000-tires You can also get them in a load range E http://simpletire.com/maxxis-225-75r15-tl15713000-tires
  17. If you can find out the bolt pattern you may be surprised at the number of different vehicles that use the same pattern. For instance, did you know that Jeep wheels fit on a Dodge Caravan? That opens a lot of opportunities to find hte wheels you like. Check wrecking yards for them too!
  18. Yea, that could have something to do with it. Are you running a stock torque converter?
  19. Good luck, Russ! I hope it is everything you want and more!
  20. A lot of times the problem is the flame rod gets dirty and is marginal for rectification. Pull it out (when cool) and use a Scotch Brite pad or steel wool to clean it. If you use sand paper it leaves microscopic pieces of glass on the rod. Eventually they will melt and cover the rod rendering it useless.
  21. Ain't that the truth. This point has been way to long in getting here.
  22. Naw, dripley has not been here to show me how it is done.
  23. Why not just send him a PM from here? He should get an e-mail telling him he has a message here. He goes by Brian@Smarty here.
  24. Joe, Yabba is in Florida.
