Unless you use the heat gun a lot just leave the rocker switch in. Either that or find a better quality one.........

LED Headlight
Looks like the LEDs have a different color that would work quite well for a headlight application.

Cameras... What are you using?
I just plug mine in and download the pictures I want. Quite easy. My wife uses a less expensive digital camera and I just pull the SDHC card and put it in my laptop.

LED Headlight

Draw Straw Install and Killer Dowel Pin 24v
You can't tell by looking at the timing cover. The only way to know is to pull the cover and look.

YEP. Simple as that.

software update
You should be able to copy the numbers and go to a dealer and ask. You can also give them your VIN and they can look up your truck that way. There will be some sort of record.

High Idle problem
If the previous dealer told you that you have a 12 valve.... RUN LIKE HELL!!!!! They have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I question the flash the previous owner did. Maybe you can find someone with a Smarty and re-flash the high idle?

Harbor Freight cheap ars tools
I picked up a cylinder for my engine hoist. The original one would only lift about 1/2 way no matter what (even when overfilled with oil). The one I picked up was an eight ton cylinder for $65 then they tried to sell me a two year warranty with it. I asked why they were selling additional warranties and the sales clerk looked at me and said "Why?". I looked at him and said "You must not have much confidence in your products if you think you need to sell additional warranties". You should have seen the deer in the headlights look I got!

Draw Straw Install and Killer Dowel Pin 24v
From what I understand, the most prevalent ones are the 1998, 1999, and 2000 trucks. They seem to be hit and miss even in those years. The only way to know for sure is to pull the timing cover. I tabbed mine in 2 1/2 hours in my driveway with hand tools so if you have shop with air tools you should be in the 2 hour range I would expect. Just remember, the fan has left hand threads.

How to buy land?
My recommendation is to go to your local credit union or bank the knows you and see if they will give you a loan for raw land and if so how much, terms, down, etc. Then go to a realtor that you trust and tell them what you are looking for and your budget. A good realtor will assist you greatly in the purchase of land.

47RE torque convertor locking and unlocking rapidly
A bad ground can and will screw up lots of things. The ground by your alternator may have had a poor connection and by moving the wire it might be better for a while. A good way to check if it is the alternator is to unplug the small wires going to the aternator and then test driving it. The two small wires are what makes the alternator charge, but a digital volt meter is the best way to check. The AC noise is a big problem for the lock up.A bad ground will not cause AC noise, but a leaking diode (all to common) will allow AC to get into the system and screw with your truck........ If you have a volate reading of one tenth of a volt AC, then you have leaking doides and need to repair or replace the alternator, BUT keep in mind that a lot of "brand new rebuilt" alternators will fail the AC test right out of the box. You need to make sure that the one you get has passed the test.

Happy with the new batteries
If you are looking at STARTING batteries you are correct with your conclusions Rancherman. The two six volt would be for a camper or something like that. That is where the Ahrs comes into play. Sorry for the confusion......
-
Happy with the new batteries
While that may be true, the AMP HOURS reserve capacity is greatly increased with the two six volt batteries. Why do you suppose heavy/long battery draw equipment have two sixes instead of two twelves?

On your first video with the knock, are you trying to scare the pants off of people at the end? So what do you attribute the knock going away from? That is different.......
