  1. I'm not discounting tuning as an option, but that hasn't always been an option and the bigger, free-er flowing exhaust has always been a go-to mod because why? It removes hot air quicker, and gives you slightly lower EGTs. So yea, we can now tune with the Quad to lower EGTs, but why not use another part that'll help lower that even more? Not saying that either of you are saying this, but it almost sounds like there's no point in running a bigger, free-er flowing exhaust now that we have the quad available.
  2. If by won't change much you mean maybe 100-ish degrees then sure, I'd agree. I installed a 4in on my last truck and EGT's dropped about that over the stock exhaust in certain places, and that was on a completely stock motor. I'm not saying that just because you put a 4in exhaust on the truck you can go crazy and not have to worry about EGTs. That being said, the whole point of larger exhaust is to get hot air out quicker and in turn that'll help get EGTs down a bit.
  3. No thanks to you!! I’m completely stock exhaust wise though. I’ll see a decent drop from stock to 4in. Plus planning on running it with a resonator. It sounds soooo nice! Loud enough to know it’s not stock but quiet enough to daily and not annoy the neighbors and no drone!
  4. Ok so max boost is around 30-32lbs and max EGTs for a WOT run we’re 1427! I think I need a 4in exhaust! Lol
  5. You literally just plug it into the truck lol basically does the rest
  6. True, but when I matched my stock speedo using the smarty it was right on, so I think it'll be close enough. At least I can try and argue that my speeds were close enough to what the sign said they were! lmao
  7. If my Smarty doesn't sell here soon I'll send it out your way so you can flash it and then just send it back to me.
  8. What do you still use you're MPG fooler for Mike? I still have mine installed still but with the quad now, I'm wondering what are the pros to having it still? Mainly just 3cyl high idle is all I can think of??
  9. That’s what I was getting at when I said ‘everyone who works on these says...’ I’m not saying booking it up to the hot line is wrong. Just depends on what temp you wanna read. I personally see no point in knowing how hot the fluid is that’s going to be cooled. I want to know how hot it is before it’s being used. Just wanted to point out two different points of view from two different types of people.
  10. Yea that’s rough man. Either way, sounds like you’re currently tapped into one of the hot lines or areas that get little flow so show hot. This also comes into debate onto where to actually monitor temps. Most people on the forum say to monitor to hot return line. Everyone who actually works on these trans says to monitor the pan temp.
  11. Yea those do seem high, is that from the pan?
  12. Rog. I’ll change those and see how it goes lol
  13. Those temps sound fine. I have my trans temp in the pan and if I’m not towing or hitting around (multiple WOT runs with the quad turned up) my gauge won’t even register. It’s an ISSPRO gauge that starts at 100. If I’ve been driving and start idling in a parking lot or stop and go traffic I can see temps come up to 130-160 But as soon as I start moving again temps are down to 130-140 empty.
  14. I’d have to do another run (oh darn) but pretty sure the highest I saw was 32. I’ll report back after. I have it set to defuse at 1350 egt’s. That a safe number?
  15. Alright someone explain what’s goin on. Am I really seeing 44psi? Backing off %34 means it’s saying max boost is at roughly 30lbs. Pretty sure I saw my manual gauge only hit 32, and I have the quad set to defuel at 35 (safe for an HX right?) I can definitely tell the trucks backing off. I’ve seen a yellow and green bar flash up at the bottom of the quad app, what’s that mean?
  16. Awesome to have you on the forum Ryan! Im running your steering gear on my current rig and point everyone your way when they need the same!!
  17. Considering is all it is. I’m more likely to go to a 62/68/12 then I am to compound. Buuuutttt that’s not to say that somewhere waaaayyy down the road that I don’t use that 62 as part of a compound setup and hit da streetzzz!
  18. If pressure loss at any point, worrying about an electric system failing or not wanting anything more then the stock fuel filter are on your list then a mechanical is probably the way to go for you. If not then FASS and AIRDOG would be on the table along with GDP’s mechanical pump and take your pick.
  19. I’m a round about way, sure. Realistically its just because the electric pump. Once it’s at full voltage and pressure, it’s constantly trying to provide that pressure. Once the demand for more fuel goes up (ie WOT ie higher boost) fuel will drag a little as its still trying to keep up with the demand. The bigger pumps deal with that better, and bigger pumps with bigger lines do even better. One of the many pros to the mechanical pump is pressure increases with rpm and avoids the pressure drop.
  20. Curse youuuu!!! *waves fist in air like angry old guy* That definitely looks like ‘portlandarea’
  21. Yea cuz they got 1200 worth of new rubber! Hahah gotta baby em for a bit. There’s been plenty of WOT throttle runs though so don’t worry.
  22. Here she is as of 30 minutes ago... a little dirty but she’s been enjoying the new wiretap!
  23. Cool thanks Mike. The other way worked for me as I was headed out for errands so just unhooked them before I left lol
