To replace my VP44 or no to
If you're in some serious back woods type stuff and are already pointing out that dependability in #1 then I'd just replace it. We can sit here all day and tell you that it SHOULD last, problem is, if and when it does, we're not the ones dealing with that problem out in bum **** wherever. I'm like minded in the sense that I'd rather have everything be installed on my watch so I'll know the history and take care of it accordingly, but I never am in a situation where I'd be without service or the ability to get help somewhat quickly. In your case it seems like it might be worth it to just install new.

Previous issues and a new noise.
Why not check before rebuilding? That could be the whole issue.

No name
@jlbayes you still gonna do a full write up for stud install?

Yuuuup! My first diesel was an old Volkswagen caddy truck I had in high school. Could put 20 dollars in it and drive it all month without filling up again!

Best towing injector size
The monitor depending on whether you get WiFi or Bluetooth is either and apple device or android device. I bought a Samsung phone from Walmart and it works fine via Bluetooth.

Injector swap
Do the injector lines need to come all the off the VP? Or can I just loosen the hold downs for those and scooch em outta the way to get the crossover tubes out?

Airdog low pressure
Figured Mines done basically the same, except I think my FASS return line is a little further down, I'll have to find pics to verify. Only issues I get are longer starts when fuel gets below 1/2ish tank when parked on my inclined driveway. That stock return line, like yours is hanging down there, is what I think is causing my issues and I think I'll end up getting a Liberty fuel module eventually as well to get rid of that problem all together.

Airdog low pressure
Which return line? Stock or the FASS?
-
3rd gen ?
Yea I've been looking through that link you sent and it looks like theres hitchs that'll go up past the weight!
-
3rd gen ?
I think the hitch is rated to 10k and tounge weight is 1k but that's off the top of my head so could be off. Either way, 15k is over the weight for that stock hitch if it really is 10k and I'm sure a 15k boat is going to have a pretty heafty tounge weight.

Airdog low pressure
That'll do it! Glad to hear it's up and running!

Hard start after grid heaters disconnect
Yea sounds normal to me. My truck will do the same thing. Some trucks just don't like to start in the cold as easy as others do. For instance.. If I leave everything normal in the morning, grids turn on, WTS goes out, fires right up, no to very minimal smoke. If I turn on the MPG switch, WTS goes out after a second, fires right up but with little hiccup and some smoke. Usually the coler it is that I do this, the more pronounced this is. Just a weather thing.
