  1. Questions... 1. What’s this stainless steel flex line you speak and where can I purchase? 2. Wtf is the ‘do it bayes way or else’ head stud write up?!?!
  2. I mean, if there’s oil in/around your turbo and I’d at least clean it and see if it comes back. How else you going to know where it came from?! Lol
  3. With your 01 it’d be a simple drop in. @dripley is right in that you’ll need to grind down the very tops of the threaded end if you still have the OEM wheels on. If you have aftermarket 16in wheels they SHOULD be offset enough to alleviate the need to trim them, but double check prior to running down the road at least.
  4. I’m assuming he’s talking about the oil you saw in/around the turbo
  5. I get the reason the ‘myth’ was around, was really more factual before the quad actually, but was just pointing out that now with the quad and big injectors you can still get decent mpg numbers. Thanks for the explaination on the timing though, I never knew that part of it.
  6. The myth of smaller injectors being the mpgs winners is a just that. A lot of folks on here have proven that you can get mpg numbers with massive injectors that were unheard of prior to the quad.
  7. Ahh yea forgot your trucks much heavier then most. @Me78569 would know better how much that would affect things but I suppose you could always just get the injectors and not install them (I know, madness) for a bit until you get the bigger turbo.
  8. I’d go 7x.012 now. You can tune them back with the quad and once you get a 62/68/12 or compounds you’d be fine.
  9. Define long term lol Probably was @Me78569! Lol I’ll be in the same boat as you shortly running big injectors on an HX. Definitely not a permanent solution but I can imagine anything being wrong with running for 6-12 months as long as you were nice.
  10. Those pressure fluctuations could just be a little of air still in the line getting to the gauge. Drive it a little longer or a couple got WOT runs and it should clear up.
  11. You cant use stock 3rd or 4th gen mirrors. The ones from 1aauto are modified to fit the 2nd gen mirror mounting area.
  12. I think @trreed‘s injectors are a teensy-weensy bit bigger then yours though Mike. Makes sense for you to pull those numbers.
  13. Yea I offered but he was reluctant. Maybe he’ll change his mind. While we don’t have the salt worry up here, prices has gone through the roof which is what makes buying these older trucks harder to justify.
  14. It seems you and I think along the same lines @Ben! If I were him I’d go with a 2nd gen as well, I think he wants something more turn key not that the 3rd gens don’t have their issues as you mentioned. We’ll see what happened, I haven’t heard back from him in a while so I think he’s still lookin.
  15. You turning it up to level 4 or above on the quad?
  16. Don’t think any of these trucks will ever sound the same at idle. We need a video of yours to be able to even give you an idea if there’s a problem.
  17. In for learning the info.
  18. Sounds good. Whenever I get a new exhaust it’ll be flopro with 30in FTE so I’ll report back on what it sounds like.
  19. I can confirm the FTE takes away the harsher raspy idle and cuts down on idle noise on a diamond eye 4in for sure. Haven’t ridden in the truck but what I’ve been told is no drone and a lot quieter but still sounds good.
  20. I plan on going with flopro when I get an exhaust. They extend their welds to wrap around the pipe more to cut down on fatigue over time and I think also reduce vibration. They also come with the nice band clamps already instead of the crush style clamps most others come with.
