285/75R16 any clearance issues
I run 295/75/16s on my '01, and it required I go with a leveling kit, as I rubbed the fenders pretty good..Granted, I run a 16x10 wheel with a good bit of offset, I just don't remember what the offset is , at the moment.. I've got about 1/5-2.0" of tire sticking out from under the fender lip..

Track Bar Question
I went with a MOOG unit from Rock Auto (DS1413) for $107. The ball joint head is a good 40% larger than the OE unit (guessing the percentage.) But, it was definitely more heavy duty. I wish I'd weighed the two, as there was a decent amount more weight in the MOOG piece, as well. I've considered the links (above) for the tie rod ends, but ultimately went with MOOG replacements. Ball joints are next...:banghead:

12v vs 24v truck
It's all a matter of opinion; that's the bottom line.I prefer my 12v over my 24, even to this day. I like the ease in which maintenance and repairs are performed on the 12v. Diagnosing is less painful, to me, on the 12v, due to the lack of electronics. And I like my right foot pedal physically connected to the throttle lever, rather than rely on the electronics to do it for me. We all know how finicky electronics can be.as for tuning and making power on a single income, 12V is the way to go. Case in point: 400+hp is easily obtainable for under $150-200 on a 12v. $200 gets you squat for a 24 valve. At 400_hp, my 5 spd 12v got in excess of 25-26mpg on the highway at 65-68mph. My 6spd 24v has never seen north of 18, since I've owned it (both on 265-75-16s and 3.55s.)The downside to the 12V is what I experienced; rack stuck full forward in the IP while passing someone, creating a runaway situation. It was quite scary. A reman'd Bosch pump was cheaper than fixing the old one. Oh, and this was at 105k mi.

Posi Lock Cable
The initial adjustment of the cable is the trickiest part of it all, installation-wise, due to it's design. Once that's complete, however, it should need no further maintenance, aside from an occasional cable lube.

Posi Lock Cable
This will allow you to operate in low range, as stated above, but still have the steering advantage without the binding you get on hard surfaces in 4wd

who knows the nv5600
This is generally caused by something bent or worn out. It should fully lock itself into position. Is it only in 1st and/or reverse?

that's a fair assumption ;)- Factory Front Bumper
yeah. see, to me, that middle lower section looks just too bulky for my tastes.. it reminds me of this: http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS_LKLetM9ULqshTBEATC7x7PzaVEc8444uK8HcyaogvdW-QSV7 OOops, I mean this:- Custom on dash guage pod for 06 Up

when I made my catch-can setup on my 500hp WRX, I actually made a drain in the bottom that fed back into the block, recycling the vapored oil..- Photography - Snapshots of the Day

- Factory Front Bumper
I'd like a version of the BuckStop. I'd prefer that the girth of the bumper wasn't so broad, or low hanging.. Something like this: http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/imagemagic.php?img=images/Hanson_Offroad_XJ_Prerunner_Front_Bumper.jpg&w=400&h=&page=popup- Posi Lock Cable
I'd do the cable conversion, before replacing the vac. crap. But that's just me. Only thing is it adds an extra step in using 4WD- Mpg
that's insane.. and a big tank, apparently.. 35-36?My 26 gallon cell is in constant need of filling. last fill-up was 22gal, 284 mi.. you do the math.. :banghead:- Fuel prices thread...
I remember when gasoline was 20-30 cents/gallon, then shot up to like 40 cents, during the "shortage".. there were odd/even days when you could get fuel, and it depended on your license plate. Wacky..- NorthEast Snow storm.
humidity kicks my fat butt.I just wish we'd get some snow of significance. This piddly .2-.3" crud is worthless. And it's so dry, it looks like someone poured pixy sticks all over the place. A light breeze is all that is needed to clear the truck off.And we've only gotten down to the high-teens, low 20s thus far.- True Mileage
