TIRES - Sizes, brands, etc. - What do you run?
this morning, I had my 265-70-16 REVOs replaced ith 235/85-16 E Federal Couragia MTs.. So far, I love them, even though I've only driven a short distance on them. My steering is much easier, and despite their very lug-heavy design, only howl a little bit. I barely hear it over my 5" muffled Diamond Eye exhaust. I'll try to get a pic of them on the truck this afternoon.. mindless, what 19.5" wheels are you running?

Brake Controllers & trailer brakes
I have the Voyager in the '96, and an unmentioned brand (I can't remember, I'll have to look) in my '01. The one in the 01 is digital. However, I seem to prefer the Voyager, as it seems to be more accurate (go figure) and consistent. The digital one wigs out every once in awhile, and I have no trailer braking. That's not good. And I totally agree on using the exhaust brake for it's intended purpose, slow the vehicle/load down. I don't have one on the '01, but the Jacobs on the '96 is phenomenal. I want to put one on the '01, but I just can't swing the price right now..:banghead:

Ford Ranger
the 2.5L and some late dualplug 2.3s have roller cam setups. we used to rob them from the rangers and put them in our Merkurs. They are hard to kill, unlike the v6 version, which you can sneeze at, and it'd wipe a rod bearing.. additionally, a 60trim T3 Garret @ 18-20psi is cake to the 2.3/2.5 Lima motors. A set of Merkur injectors (36pph) and a turbo coupe ECU (EEC-IV) a little wiring, and a FMIC will put that motor well into the mid-200whp range.. The Merkur 2.3L 8 valve. All stock, minus a FMIC and strong clutch... If you decide to hotrod it, I've got one of these laying around.. New, no box..

Pics of me towing things
nice pictures, guys.. I've got a couple that I'll have to dig up. @ed - as for your signature, I have asked myself, and my wife, that very question multiple times... @mindless - I love that dak! --- Update to the previous post... all i could find quickly, was of my old Cherokee towing my little trailer, after we'd cut down this POS tree in the front yard.. The tree was ~45' tall, and 90% of it is on that trailer LOL Piled on, strapped down. Piled more on, strapped that down, piled more one, and so on...

Im with you, Russ. After yesterday's suggestion, I thought I'd watch the ECO selection this morning, on the way to work.. It IS useless. It fluctuates around so much, that it is impossible to even use as a guide. As an average, keeping it even remotely close to 20mpg, let alone above, is almost impossible. [*]5th gear, 40mph, very light throttle on flat surface, it hovered in the neighborhood of ~15. [*]4th gear, 30-35mph, was ~9mpg. [*]2nd gear, 10mph crawl was ~20mpg. m'kay...- MPG fooler - Design phase
I haven't had the larger tires on since November, actually. I've been running a 265-70-16 throughout the winter months, as the 295s (9.7% off of odometer) won't allow the use of my snow plow. The overhead AVG is usually around 13-14mpg (city) as city driving is my majority of travel. I haven't tried the ECO setting, and keeping it above 20 (yet) but I may try it out. I'm about to put a set of 235-85-16s on the truck, in the next couple of weeks. I know the odo will be skewed a little (4.1%). And I always hand-calculate.- MPG fooler - Design phase
I haven't performed this test mod (yet) but I did have an odd scenario this past weekend...I usually get about 275-290mi/tank (21-22gal) in town. I've only gotten a couple of true highway runs in the 24v, but the best had-calc'd MPG I've seen is about 18. This was a 250mi r/t at 68mph.Last saturday, I made a road trip to Williamsburg, VA.. Round trip was 368mi. I used just a hair over 1/2 tank for the trip. Overhead (although inaccurate) showed 21.6mpg @ ~68mph cruise control setting.I was shocked! And, I've got no programmers on the truck. It's bone stock, minus a bhaf and 5" exhaust.- 12 valve cummins in a rogator
