  1. I put a set of $20 each Monroe's on mine about 4 years ago. It still rides harsh but the wheels stay firmly planted. About OE quality. Don't know why the would not work on 2wd.
  2. I have been saving up for something all this time, just couldn't put a finger on it. My wife figured it out though. Now we are both screwed!!!
  3. It would be good to see if the 01 got the same mileage as the 97 on the same run. Wont disagree on this, just not sure to buy the different size since the 265's have done so good every where i have used them. Might try a used set one day or check into the price of the narrower tires.
  4. From reading all this it boils down to what you are doing with your truck. For me I am mostly empty these days and cruising on the 265's at 75 netting me near 20 mpg. When I tow I try to stay near 65 and the 245's would most likely make that easier and might generate a touch more on the mpg. But since I do more no towing miles I think the 265's are better for my purpose. And as mentioned above you have to go with what suits what you are doing with your truck. There is not just one size fits all.
  5. I lost that function in mine right around the time I replaced mine with an unit from Advance. Might have to dig and see what unit I have. I lost a tail bulb but it still blinked like normal in the cab. Did not know it was out until I got a ticket for it.
  6. I am trying real hard to do that.
  7. Is it possible that engine crank sensor also?
  8. I can pick those tires up with my little finger. There's nothing to them. Then all the driver has to do is to figure out how to make them last 50 laps, then whoop into the pits and 14 or so seconds later there back on new rubber without even stopping by the cash register. My kind of tire store. Yes. Try some and see for yourself. I started using it 230k ago after installing the VP that is still in service.
  9. I have seen the factory cloth covers at few places. $175 is the cheapest I have seen one. These folks offer the pair. https://www.usautoseatcover.com/product-page/1999-2002-dodge-ram-2500-slt-driver-bottom-fabric-seat-cover-plus-foam-cushion Thinking I might buy the Genos cover and cushion and use it, then stick back the one that came with my new to me seats for later.
  10. With as many big players starting to get into this it wont long for solutions to come. There will a lot trial and error going but that's true for most innovations I have seen thru my life. They are already going thru that right now with electric cars. We have some solar farms out my way but no wind mills due to lack of enough wind. They do want to put some off the coast but that's going to be while. I am not against some solar on the house but not sure what all it would take to do it. Don't have the money right now anyway.
  11. The small set ups I see in towns are that. Park, plug and walk away. With charging times I would not want stand there and watch it. Some gas pumps are to slow to my liking.
  12. I have seen I several places in towns small recharge for electric car, 2 or 4 bay setups. Out on 81 north in northern VA there is a Sheetz I stop pretty regular. They installed a 10 bay Tesla charging station there. At least it has the Tesla logo on them. This is on well traveled interstate but well outside of the big city. I have not noticed any around here in Maryland in the DC area but have bought fuel here very few times.
  13. Other. I hate typing on this tablet. I am surprise spell check did not change it to something else that did not make sense either. Oyhrt is pretty good one though.
  14. I have never messed withe rake except hauling the 5th wheel. Other the my headlights aimed a little higher I don't notice a difference then. I know I would not notice 5/8". Just me I guess.
  15. All good advice above. I would have to ask what your gear ratio is? 35's and 3:55 gears will drag the mileage down. When mine was new on the stock 265's just over 18 mpg was all I got unless I drove 55 or less every where. Is your mpg highway, in town or combined?
  16. It is definitely coming. I won't be surprised when some bigger cities start banning fossil fueled cars to degree for air quality. I would like to know the difference in how pollution is created generating the power for the vehicle compared to burning the fuel in the vehicle. It does bug me when I see the vehicles classified as non polluting. You have to generate the power with something. The quietness of them bothers me since the sound of on coming vehicles alerts you before stepping in front of them. Need something like the deer whistles for pedestrians on them. Battery storage is the hold back for now but the deeper they dive into the tech the quicker the solution will be found and more big money is getting into it.
  17. Welcome to the fsrm. Nice looking truck too.
  18. I surprised you can even notice any difference in the rake. The over all size being 1.2" smaller would only amount to lowering the rear only .6"
  19. No wonder I cant find all of them. I always look under the 2002. I take it they are the same except for diagrams shown under the 2002.
  20. I lucked out and found the whole front row for $125. Oyhrt than the drivers cushion being little flat they were intact and like new compared to old ones.
  21. Help us @Mopar1973Man.
  22. A boost fooler would be part of most any tuner and they make electronic stand alone boost foolers, but I don't know any thing about them. It would take either of these so the ECM does not see to high a boost level. When my first tuner went south I learned to drive with the boost gauge so it would not defuel. Got pretty good at it but it still sucked. You could just put a regular 90 in place of the boost elbow and your waste gate should keep you from over boosting. The over boost does not hurt anything, just a nuisance at the level your seeing.
  23. Most of the covers I have looked say they are compitable with heated, power or manual seats.
  24. Mines in no danger doing 5 revolutions. Mine won't do 1/4 revolution when first moved on a cold engine.
