  1. Are they not both auto's? If so weak vacuum line or fittings maybe. I need to replace all of mine. They are getting I bad shape.
  2. Please do on the pictures. I have my old failed one and would like to get a idea of what's in there before I take mine apart. Sorry to hear about the pump. I think you need to have a memorial service for it after 12 years.
  3. The first pair I got I let the guy talk me into them. They scratched pretty easy. The second pair I paid for scratch coat. Only thing is they coat it before they grind the prescription so only one side is coated. I always try to rinse them good before wiping them with any thing. Not always possible on the job though so mine get scratched up pretty quick. But with the cost of glasses coming down I can 2 pair of bifocals for about $225 and they last me about a year a half may 2 years. Some that depends on how many times you slam the hood of the on them. I understand the weight difference in the lenses, but I have been wearing glasses lenses since I was 6 years old and I never thought the glass lenses were heavy. Just got used to wearing them.
  4. Ok I am amazed the your facial expression is identical in the pictures along with your hair and most of the wrinkles in your shirt. I think aliens are involved. Watch those poly lenses they scratch very easily.
  5. Mine comes anytime I am towing and load the engine up good on a grade. Maybe something wrong with the fan clutch? Mine sounds like a turboprop trying to pass me when it comes on.
  6. Another reason for doing is to eliminate the multiple splices and connectors in that wire. Some of those splices are just crushed together then glued and shrink wrapped.
  7. It is called turbo bark. When let out fast under hard throttle the boost you are produce trys to go the other way since the engine can't use it. Very harsh on the turbo as understand it, trys to turn the turbo backwards. I am sure someone can explain better than me.
  8. Sounds like the warranty manager might need a new a line of work.
  9. You should have an HO VP. They came on the the 01 and 02 with six speeds.
  10. Sounds like the CKP is on it's way out. Could just be failing intermittantly until it quits all together.
  11. I believe your going to be needing a new VP, p0216, and a lift pump, the in tank pumps stuck. Mine did. A bad lift pump is bad on the VP. The p0500 is mostly you spun the rear somewhere. Is the speedo working? Something you ought to try is dumping some 2 cycle oil in the fuel. Put a couple oz per gallon in it and it might help for a while. TCW3 ashlessis what Wally sells it in their super tech line pretty reasonable. Me and many others here use it religiously. I take the fuel pressure reading was at idle? If that's all your I tank pump can muster it is just grinding the VP up. Minimum you ought to see 14 psi with your foot glued to the floor. The fuel is what lubricates and cools the electronics on the VP.
  12. Me too. It seems that some yard work is getting in the way. On a different note Mr DF, I got some of those Bars Leak tablets and my weeping head gasket is dry. Thanks for the link, this will buy me a little time.
  13. That is way to pretty a truck to swap for a Ford. From your description I assume you just had the old ones rebuilt with new nozzles? Who built them and were did the nozzles come from? While I have never had a stroke 2 close relatives of mine have and i have seen the challenges they have faced. Me, just being 65 has it challenges. I hope the shop you have found will be of service. I have one here at home that seems to know what they doing but still like to do all that I can.
  14. I have seen several of these while looking vehicles on Craig's list a while back. Very similar story, in the military, transferring, ship the car to me, and such. The cars and the prices were to good to be true. First one I saw was a little fishy and then a few days later I came across the exact same story, only the names and cities were changed. I reported it to CL but they just kept telling me all the things I could do about it. Buyer beware.
  15. I definitely would check for any DTC's before assuming it is the ECM.
  16. Whose foam did you use? I have been looking I to that one my self. Sure is a lot of them out there.
  17. Good to hear. The episodes of dead pedal I have experienced were neither the apps nor the VP. Electronics drive me crazy.
  18. I like the guy water skiing.
  19. If I am seeing the diagram correctly the only time you would see 12v on the clutch switch is when the key is in start position????
  20. Been there my self a few times, no hearing aids and the Cummins running.
  21. What was that she said again, not sure I heard you correctly.
  22. The wife has a 98 Saturn sl2 4 cylinder. Not a power house for sure. Went on a little trip with both of them. Got cruise set around 75 in the hill country. Then pulling a hill a little much for OD it drops into 3rd. Went from 2800 to 4500 rpm in a flash. I liked to jumped out the window.
  23. Good to know about the 9000 also. Don't get me wrong the Monroe's are about like the OE's but they do work. I was a little short of cash when Ranco 5000's bit the dust.
  24. I think you ought to try a Quad/Smarty/Comp triple stack and see if you can break the sound barrier.
  25. @mopar440cu what did Cummins ding you for that tube?
