New to Cummins, need some possible fuel diagnostics
Congrats! After you get the everything completely installed, clear all of the codes and resart the truck. Then check them again. That way you can eliminate any old codes that were already set.

New to Cummins, need some possible fuel diagnostics
I dont rember wether i did it when it was new. But I do remember having to do it when I ran it out of fuel. It would not prime until I filled that filter. I cant explain why. Pretty sure i just did the prefilter, just suggested both since you would be there.

Mine primed imediately after filling that filter and had it running 5 minutes later. I did make 3 trips to the gas station though, only had one can and just enough left to fill the filter. I just did not think of that until the 3rd trip. Since you have to get some fuel fill them both up while you are under there.

tow mirrors
I have powered mirrors now, well one is still in the box, but the driverside is on and works great. They appear to be a well built product. could'nt find any thing on them to know where they are made. The wires on the switch I bought were not quite long enough so I had to rearrange 2 of the harnesses so I could pug it in. It seems to put one in a slight bind and the plug on the switch trys to lock into its harness, it is not very tight and I can pull it apart. I am not sure that switch is exactly the right one. Got to go visit another salvage yard to look at a bumper think i will have a look around while I am there to see if I can improve the wiring. It was just all plug and play. Hopefully the heated portion is in the dash and that will be the icing on the cake.

I remeber looking at the new fangled lift pumps and at $500 I thought they were quite pricey. But after an in tank pump $900+ and a booster pump to help it $250+ it they started looking pretty darn cheap.

I ran mine our of fuel once and had to fill the filter(WS) with fuel to get it to prime. I dont remeber whether I had to do that when I installed though. I put 15 gallons of fuel in the tank and it would not prime until filled that filter. Its worth a shot.

Best Value Rotors
Who makes the Mopar products? I bought a tstat awhile back from either AA or AZ in ther box and it turned out to be a cummins. Had the cummins part # stamped on the tstat. It cost about 15 to 17 bucks there, had I bought from cumminsit would have 60 to 80 bucks.

Returning truck to stock without programmer
Call them and ask. I was told by the dealer it had to be on the truck, but it can be done off the vehicle. Rebuilders do it, but they also seem to have a hard time building them right. Maybe thats part of their problem.

Raptor FRRP and 1/2" line
The stock line works just fine with my set up. I dont believe you can out flow those lines with what you have.

Just installed new VP$$
What I am experiencing is instead of starting instantly like it used to is that it sometimes takes 1/4 to1/2 second to start. Kind of hit and miss when it does it. but for the most part starts just fine. It is more nusciance than anything. The other day when i left work after the truck had been sitting for half a day and it took 3 or 4 seconds to start and the next morning it did it again. Both time on flat ground. Has not done it since. that was definately odd. When I park at my brothers house I am sitting nose up about 1 foot and it will take a few seconds to start after sitting for 5 or 6 hours. This is all telling me I do have an air leak some where, but it is not constant. One day it will do it the next it wont.I installed new injectors about 4 or 5 months ago and had leaks on all the connector tubes plus the return tee and the bolt on the back of the head. Left a puddle of diesel every wher I stopped. I reinstlled the injectors and now they are dry as a bone. I replaced the sealing washers on the bolt and put new orings in the tee and they are dry as a bone also. No fuel is reaching the ground I have seen no fuel on any my connections. I will admit I need to look at it much closer but that is going to have to wait untill i get her home. If it gets worse I will have to check it better at the RV park, but for now it is just a small annoyance.

I am experiencing the same thing, longer than normal but only 1/2 second or or so. But there does not seem to be anything common about when mine does it. I pretty sure it is an air leak somewhere. When I park up hill for more than 4 hours it will take a few seconds for it to start. If I cyle the lift pump and start it she fires right off. I to am nor seeing any leaks any where, but feel it is so small that maybe no fuel is getting out due to the consistancy of the fuel versus air. I have heard of some folks having problems with the AD quick connects leaking but I am not seeing any fuel at those connections. For now I am not to worried about it as long as it does not get any worse and will deal with it when I get my truck back home from Iowa.

Heater core hose
It might be, but it wont cost you a dime to shorten the hose to find out. Shorten the hose and reclamp it and see what happens.

tow mirrors
I ordered some today. Keeping my finger crossed something else does not break. I bought a vp and the day before I installed it the ECM goes south. That was a bad year.

tow mirrors
Russ I just checked my 02 last week and the wiring was in the drivers door. If you look on the drivers door panel at the vertical part next to the dash there should be a round plug where the adujusting knob woould be. I never could find a new knob so I ordered a used one off of Ebay for $18 shipped. I am hoping the wiring is in the dash for the heated part. I want know that until I take the bezel off and look. But I do believe the bezel is going to fall apart if I take it out again so that is going to have to wait. Walsey and Rogan both did theirs and the wiring was there.I pulled the screw out of the top off the door panel and pulled it back just enought to see 2 plugs for the wiring mounted right at the mirror bolts. It appears one of them matches the plug on the switch I bought.
