  1. my banks system gets its boost reading from the map sensor. it is always a good smooth reading from 0 to 34 and does not show any pulsating. i am not saying there is no pulsating going on in there, because i really dont know what is going on in there. my knowledge is limited. just my
  2. i came to this forum with hardly any knowledge of these trucks specificly, but i did have a genral mechanical knowledge about vehicles in general. i spent the first year here asking questions and learning. now i can answer questions aboth 24v for people that appear to know less about them than i do. thats all because of the folks here who share their with expertise and experience of all version of the ctd. The bottom line for me is taking what every one offers and doing it the way i want to without anyone calling me a total dumb ___ just because i dont see it their way. though i have had few moments because i did not listen. in the end i take what i get here and apply it how it suits me. thats something i never found until i came here. so p pump it i thats what you want after all it is your truck and you can do any thing to it you like. we just want to know how it goes for you and wish you well with it.
  3. did you find those while your bar stool was inverted?
  4. your using the 8 ball. i am trying to picture how you got 8 balls on your shifter.
  5. i would be interested in seeing that my self. 8 balls huh?
  6. a new vp, lift pump and fp gauge can be had for about $1500 to $1800 depending on what pump you choose. if your vp is still good $800 or less will set you up.
  7. you might want to put some air to the waste gate and make sure it is working good before you install it. do you still have the stock exhaust on your rig? i have a banks power elbow and a new 4" down pipe for it if you upgraded to a 4" exhaust.
  8. ouch, ouch, ouch, ill stop, ill stop. catch me if you can. --- Update to the previous post... i dont know about all of yall, but you gotta love this place.
  9. you do have a point there. when you turn the switch on everything pretty much comes on, radio, heater fan, and so on. when you turn to start those things shut down while staring. They all come back on when you release the key. not sure what all shuts down but things do shut down, that might be a way around it, providing you dont overload any thing by putting the pump on one of those circuits that shuts down during starting. makes me wonder if there is a spare circuit on the accersory side of everything you could do that with.
  10. you will stilll be sending full pressure to the vp possibly causing hard starting. even when you bump the starter and start the engine during that cycle the ecm reduces the pressure for starting once the key is turned again. i believe it does this by cycling the pump on and off during starting. i have my AD connected to the alternator and plug into the wiring from the ecm to the old lift pump and when cranking i only see somewhere between 7 and 9 psi.
  11. no problem. couldnt let mine sit that long either.
  12. I like the blame part, post *****.
  13. 50k huh? brings a whole new meaning to leaving enough room to stop. not sure i can see that far.
  14. Bob, i might have one. i have not seen it in a while and it might be gone, but i will look when i get home. problem is that will be 2 or 3 weeks and then i am not sure i still have it. If i do and you have not found one its yours. it is my original hx35 housig i replaced with the banks quick turbo 5 1/2 years ago. Hell it might be rusted together.
  15. I am sticking with 2 stroke and nothing else unless someone can show me something better. i just changed my oe injectors after 235k miles and all they had on them was a little carbon build up.
  16. are you talking about something other than the rating on the sticker in the drivers door opening?
  17. about 7800 with me and my crap.
  18. i dont know how the quad hooks up. my banks is conncted thru the sensors via a wiring harnesses and i can disconnect the banks harness and plug every thing back in like stock with no problems. mine changes the operating parameters also and it just goes back to stock with no ill effects. power levels are down though. maybe some one here who has a quad could add to this.like gasser says, check for trouble codes, they might point in a differant direction.
  19. i only use 2 cycle oil in my fuel. my transfer case requires ATF 4, surely it has some lubrcation qualities for gears. my 96 v-10 used atf, which kind i dont remember. i woulod agree however not to burn it in the fuel.
  20. my cd player puts out suprising amount of heat. could you be over heating the tom tom?
  21. i found it for $17.99 at auto zone or advance. --- Update to the previous post... thanks, probably will replace as a unit and just see if i can rebuild the old one for a spare. --- Update to the previous post... this one comes of what appears to be a shift motor connected to the axle just inboard of the passenger side yoke. it holds 5 oz of gear oil. i read that in the 2001 FSM. i dont know squat about it. but i would agrre that is pretty high to vent any fluid especially holding that small amount of fluid. it was getting to late last night to go any further so i cleaned it up and will watch it for a while. --- Update to the previous post... if what i read in the FSM and saw on the axle it is not comming from the pumpkin but a shift motor on the axle shaft. that is where the vent is coming from. it only hold 5 oz of fluid and i never new it was there. so i would think it is low if anything since i have never added fluid. i very seldom use the 4wd and dont think i ever had it under water. i do have a small leak at the diff cover, but it appears the venting is coming from else where. Have any of you ever serviced the shift motor?
  22. i was changing my oil today and when i took out the bhaf and intake pipe i saw some oil on the fender well. it is apparently coming out of a hose with a funny cap on it. it sits about 4" in front of the pcm under the bhaf. the hose runs from the fender well to something on the front axle, passenger side. i am not familiar with this at all. there is not alot of fluid on the fender well and it is cover with dust so whatever is coming out of it is doing it slowly. seemed to be spread out to much for gear oil, but then again i dont know what i am dealing with. Can someone please enlighten me.i also heard what i think was the belt tensioner pulley starting to squeal. after it warmed up, whatever is was quit. pretty sure it was the pulley though. The FSM says it is serviced as a unit but i can buy just the pulley or the unit. any of you just replaced the pulley?
