To replace my VP44 or no to
@Dieselfuture In how the serial number on the pump ends. 027 is SO, 028 is HO, and 029 is industrial application, I agree with this. My truck doesn't like that oil either.

Quadzilla V2 Custom Tunes
I thought I smelled pizza! Wind was blowing hard enough to bring the smell all the way down to Denver

Have you checked for boost leaks at all?

Morning Pic For Today...........Post A Pic around your place.....
I'm down for that anytime. Considering shells are about .21 cents each at the Walmart.

@BBHD absolutely! My buddy and I have plans to head back there next weekend to do the same thing..... Just with a lot more shells!

Morning Pic For Today...........Post A Pic around your place.....
Went in the mountains today with a buddy to shoot clays. Took the pup with to introduce him to guns. He isn’t gun shy at all! He was so excited he wanted to chase the clays downrange. (we took my buddy’s truck)

Nv5600 stripped 2nd gear
Tailshaft housing and output shafts are different between the 2wd and 4wd versions. I'm pretty sure switch and swap is possible. Did SuperStick drop his prices?

Nv5600 stripped 2nd gear
Didn't say he was the only one who rebuilt them, he's just the only one I know of, and he seems to do good work. NV5600.pdf

It will plug into the ECM to tune the CANBus.

Nv5600 stripped 2nd gear
Parts for a 5600 aren't readily available because they're not supported anymore. Tools are insanely expensive, and iirc you need something like a 150 ton press to get gears off the main shaft. I'm not saying this to discourage you or be a ****. There's a guy out of Texas, Cody Albrecht, who rebuilds these transmissions. Might want to get in touch with him about it. He warranties them to 700 hp. I’ll be sending mine to him when I inevitably blow it up. Transmission is heavy. Like 450ish pounds. Transfer case is like 75-100 pounds

Injector swap
The second thing. Leave them in place.

Airdog low pressure
I definitely do not expect you to drop the tank to check that. This is my basket. As you can see, the return line ends right above the stock pump location. Causes wonky pressure readings below 3/8 of a tank. Stupid thing leaks so much diesel now that i'm giving up and getting a Vulcan Liberty module at some point.

Airdog low pressure
Well it's gotta be damn close to the bottom!

https://www.torklift.com/rv/superhitch/superhitch-magnum Should just about do it. As much towing capacity off the bumper as a gooseneck offers. Airbags recommended. lol.

FASS lol.

If you aren't willing to tap the VP, there's still options for you. For example, you could buy a Quadzilla Adrenaline, not tap the VP, and still have the V2 custom tuning. (that would be my recommendation). Can't beat the timing and fueling adjustments of the quad. Another option is to find something like an edge EZ or a Quadzilla XZT.

I'm not him but it's mostly about your cleanliness and power desires. 6x0.013's will make more power, but the 7x0.012's will not haze as bad. With a smarty and that much fuel, it will smoke way more regardless of which of the two above you choose.

Airdog low pressure
Diesel fuel foams. So as it's sloshing in the tank, the lower the fuel level, the more chance for that aeration to get to the bottom of the tank and sucked up by the straw. Then the air compresses in the pump, and while you still have good fuel flow, pressure is lowered due to compressible air in the system. I've also seen this with a return line that is cut too short and routed into the basket (mine.....) and the same thing occurs.

06 JIC is used with 3/8" hose. 08 JIC is 1/2" hose. So it depends on which big line kit you get. The link Mike posted is 1/2" and would use the M12x1.5 to 08 JIC fittings.

Previous issues and a new noise.
No, due to the IVS in the APPS. Once the IVS is triggered, the ECM switches to an idle state where it ignores sensors.

DDRP
As for your question about limiting pressure. The answer is indirectly. The small stock suction lines will limit the flow that is allowed, which will make the DDRP work harder to suck fuel to it. So it is limiting the DDRP. Now on the other side of the pump, the stock sized lines will again limit flow, but pressure will look very good, due to the amount of fuel that the DDRP is trying to supply. It is recommended to go to larger fuel lines. Even 3/8" would be a good step up over the stock ones.

Just because the code has not come back does not mean everything is cherry. The map sensor could still be giving a false reading, but it could be within the ecm's specified range and would not trip a code. You're having plenty of symptoms related to a false map reading, just as @dripley and others have had.

DDRP pumps use M12 fittings (stock banjo bolts). Fass 150 uses -08 JIC fittings and 1/2” NPT fittings.
