  1. Doesn't seem to be a Special X, so I think he's good there.. Just the regular HO pump judging from the 17X notation in the sig I think the "best" is the all new parts version..
  2. It worked. I didnt get a stabilized boost reading.. not enough places to do so on my trip back to work... In case some one finds this in the future, each vertical step is one psi and this is a severely cut down set of data and it was still 700 data points. Fuel pressure plug from quadzilla is plugged into Isspro pressure sending unit. so fuel pressure is "actual boost", boost pressure is from the factory map sensor. |3rd| 4th gear | 5th | | 5th still? | | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | 5th | | 2nd | 3rd | hope that makes sense..
  3. Doing better than me... max ever was 15-16 mpg.. 4.10s suck on the highway with small tires... Back off the speed (i know i know) and you should get there.. There were some scattered about but I can't seem to find them or the recent one from @Mopar1973Man.. what formulas were you thinking? Every truck is different so what works for some might not work for everyone...
  4. bad final ratio is the effective gearing of your diff ratio vs tire size. Anything that gets below 3.55 starts to hinder fuel economy. 3.55-3.73 is best ( @Mopar1973Man beat me to it..) 3.55s are one of two factory options, 4.10s being the other. The phatshaft 62 is a 62/65/(12 or 14), if you don't have the 12cm housing, it might help to get one.. 150s would actually really like that turbo but that's at sea level.. Don't know how that would fare at 1.25ish miles up.. Compounds when sized right will perform just as well towing as a single turbo, only thing to fear is the price. Only time things get iffy is if you spec your own set or go power before towing for priority or sizing.
  5. DDPs are (were) a good price point but have (had) the wrong nozzle cone angle. it causes a lot of high EGTs and smoke that it takes a lot of pulled fuel in a quadzilla to get them to behave nicely.. I have the past and present qualifiers there because there was an article that came out about them that said that they got new machines I think in 2020 to help with machining the injectors. Maybe they are trying to improve their quality and clean up their injectors.
  6. Welcome to the forum! Gorgeous truck! When you get the Quad, remember to drop back to stock in the Smarty... otherwise you will be fighting tuning profiles.
  7. With all due respect @Quadzilla Power, this is the same over lapping and level button displacement that has been around since the app came out in like 2018.. On the phones its worse with gauge overlap than my tablet.. @Mopar1973Man might be able to get a screenshot easier than I can right now.. tablet is at home.. @dieselautopower, I'm not sure if slow is even the right word for what I'm experiencing, but my Isspro's have 4-6 psi on them before the Quad reads 1 psi, but once like 15 psi comes around (the rarity it does..) both seem to match. I might take you up on the idea I think you presented earlier about the fuel pressure sensor used as a boost sensor to get a data log of what's going on..
  8. First off, welcome to the forum! Head on on over to introductions when you get a moment and say hello. (edit: hadnt scrolled far enough to see you already did.. Sorry!) My truck has never had issues starting in the cold and I don't plug mine in unless its in the negatives.. My truck starts better than my brother's p24v. The puff of smoke I think is unavoidable because of the mechanical nature of the system. If the crank is swinging and the computer is allowing fuel, then the injectors are getting fuel. no way around that. If it takes longer to fire off then there is fuel pooled in the piston bowl that has to flash off.. 750-800 is a semi standard idle across almost all vehicles.. What would the benefit to lower idle be? Your 98.5 was probably flashed with the anti stall feature.. Makes a world of difference with a trailer on the back. your hard start sounds more like a priming issue to me.. I would investigate that before ripping a VP apart. Side note how do you like the tubular header? And whos is it?
  9. Even on my tablet, there is overlapping and the level up and down buttons aren't where they should be.. A few of the other things would be a shortcut to tune selection or a tune selector in the gauge area, a larger target for the settings gear for sure. Music control, just play/pause, forward, and back would be like the ultimate for me. I use my tablet as my radio with my Spotify play list and switching apps to change songs is frustrating (the pull down menu while driving usually ends up not skipping and opening the app anyways for me).. I also realize that this kind of integration doesn't seem to be simple, probably quite the opposite, so if that's a pipe dream I understand.
  10. Quadzilla only uses the high bar map/boost sensor to calculate fueling from boost then sends info to ecm.. If Quadzilla uses the factory MAP like i think it does.. Factory MAP used for boost fooling.. I dont know.. I also have small gripes with the app itself but thats small potatoes right now.. Mostly fit and finish..
  11. I mentioned this earlier dont remember what thread it was but a second pressure sensor or high bar MAP sensor for boost would help normalize or remove some of the issues. I get the reasoning for using the pre existing MAP sensor but with fueling based on boost and finding such inconsistencies with them, it might be worth the extra sensor and wiring for the accuracy that would be gained..
  12. All good here, mobile and desktop... The amazon part has me confused... you dont have any VPNs or anything else active right? Sounds like a cookies issue but im not sure..
  13. What Blue Chip VP44 did you get? 17X seems like the standard HO pump and not the special x. Just want to confirm.. Tps being 8 years old might, possibly, be bad again. Timbo is our APPS of choice, less electronic stuff to get mucked up. The smoke, is it actually white or is it gray? It seems like a timing and or injector issue.. DDPs arent the cleanest injector either... Unless some of the rumors I've heard about them cleaning things up injector wise recently are actually true... Btw welcome to the forum! Heard over to the introductions forum and say hi. Final thoughts... what were your codes if you wrote them down or remember them off hand..
  14. Not sure because if i dont turn them in for cores for the 225s (over 30 days.. dont know if its still ok to turn them in) they become spares.. Would it be possible to get them either enlarged or re nozzle'd with the understanding of extra cost added on if it is possible? I'm also fighting a slow map sensor.. there's 3-5 psi on my isspros before the quad registers 1 psi.. It actually gets more accurate/lower pressure difference with more pressure.. is this something to test to see if its bad or is this a luck of the pick for parts and i need a new map sensor?
  15. Smoke to me leaving a lingering cloud on an easy take off I guess.. Never had to put words to it before. 76% is low on power but as smoke free as factory stock so far.. Injectors were put in August of 2017 and 25k miles ago. Engine load has stayed the same since I had the quadzilla but I got that in June of 2020. Always been 6-9% at warm idle. Engine load drop probably happened while I still had the edge ez..
  16. So im still running my 50s right now but i think there is something wrong with them. Ever since i put them in, I've had low end smoke issues.. and yesterday i finally followed the tuning guide and figured out that to be fully smokeless, i need to be down at 76%. If i have it at stock they let out a decent cloud of black. Even taking off easy.. The 50s are from DAP from 2018? They dont have many miles on them maybe 20-30k? I'm a bit at a loss as to the reasoning why.. Low pop pressure? Spray pattern? Bad product? (Hope not)
  17. Bilstein 5100s on my truck, supposed to be "Carli tuned". I don't believe that for a second. My set were really stiff but they have either loosened up or my sled pulling weight puts enough to put them on a different area in the internal valving.. They are actually doing the blown shock type bounce when coming to a stop but they aren't that old.. I don't think..
  18. https://www.thedrive.com/news/45161/69-mile-2002-dodge-ram-2500-cummins-brings-76000-on-bring-a-trailer What happened to the world that a 20 year old truck brings almost as much as a brand new higher end truck..
  19. Of course this pops up as I'm looking into building a gaming/video editing/3d modeling rig.. Nothing concrete yet but I'm starting to build a list.. Still new to the pc world so in the learning phase of what to get.. @jag, forgive the bluntness of the question but why? Are you an extreme over clocker or needed for work programs or even just because you can? I'm just curious at this point.
  20. @jag, 13, 14, 15 psi are odd compared to normal thinking.. is there a reason for that? is your timing still at 16, 18, 20, 22, 25 or something close to that with no push or pulls from cruise and what not?
  21. Google Fu says M6 x 1.0 x 10mm long.. Found for a first gen Cummins though. Common rails are 14mm long, same thread pitch. @wil440, he wants the 6 that go into the bearing hub bracket that attaches the pulley to the block.
  22. @Me78569, I think in another thread @Stanley said the previous owner built it as a sled puller..
  23. 64/68/(12 OR 14)?.. Wait, I think you meant twins.. s300g/k27?/hx35.. Maybe.. I think that the 64 you have is too small to support twins.. Twins need knowledge I don't have.. Power Driven Diesel uses the k27 and an s369 or s372 for their ultimate towing compound kit.. @dieselautopower, is twins with a super b special as the big turbo a possibility or is it too small?
