  1. For the main, I agree with T Faoro. For the mileage, I would expect the injector pump is getting worn as well as injectors getting tired. What is the boost pump? Do you have a pressure gauge? If so, what fuel pressure?
  2. Good looking trucks. I am not 100% sure on this, but I thought that if it was the right year/trans PCM it should swap across without major issues. It could be a bad pcm or need reflashed. Perhaps somebody else will chime in with some experience. I wonder if the 99 will run your 2000.
  3. Happy late birthday!
  4. Hahahah... No. You've just put so much work into it to make it "perfect" or near as can be for an old truck, it is going to be a fun but there is always the battle of wear and tear. However, I bet you can just enjoy it as long as you stay clear of the body shop!
  5. You really should just sell the truck now. It is all downhill from here... hahaha! In all honesty though, it really looks nice. It seems a shame to put the hood on it. Also, what is that air cleaner? Is that an oiled element I see?
  6. Here we go. Supercharged mopar hot rod. The guys other ride is a record holding '28 Fast Four Dodge Brothers.
  7. Yeah, there has been some changes. However, they are for the better. There are a few bugs to work out. The big change is that the star is now the new content button. The rest is much the same.
  8. Also, given a few odd electronics issues,, have your alternator checked while you are at Autozone.
  9. Cutting that structural part of the truck is a bad idea. Structurally and philosophically, that is really a bad idea. I don't even... Wow.
  10. Welcome... On start up, the truck powers the pump relay from the ecm 50%. You may have issues with pressure, but do you have a gauge? Are they're any codes? The flickering is kinda scary. That could be a loose connection, bad alternator, bad batteries... hard to say, but I would check those.
  11. I'm wondering if I should swap the cam while I'm in there.
  12. I hate those. Bait and switch advertising.
  13. no tick... I don't know why a seal would tick though. I haven't changed them yet. As for the bad seals I could see some tears in the seals on a couple cylinders. I expect that I have some worn guides.

Looks nice! Forgive me, it looks like the signatures aren't up on the new board yet, but how is your truck setup?
  15. That is my interest in this... Some day I want to get an old JD 2cyl tractor and an old 4-6 cyl Dodge Brothers or Ford to learn about the old school. Cable brakes, heater and windshield wiper optional, etc.
  16. So, I love old cars. I ran across the suit site 365daysofa.com where a guy documents his year of using a Ford Model A as his only source of transportation. I may be getting old, in my early 30s, haha. But I got really tired of driving my 72 Challenger daily a few years back... granted, the challenger didn't have a heater, air, or stereo at the time. Nevertheless, I love driving modern cars. I thought I learned my lesson in daily driving the hotel rod e body, but I have never driven an old 20s or 30s flat head daily. I kinda want to check it of my automotive "bucket list" someday. Anybody have much experience with these ancient cars... or have similar poor judgement?
  17. Faster and a bit cleaner overall on PC mike!. Might need some tweaks on mobile though.
  18. Make hay while the sun shines, mike. Have fun working on some stuff! We will get to the update when you have time.
  19. Is your "body guy" expensive? Does he take outside work?
  20. The factory system does the same thing. Any codes? I would suspect that he has low fuel pressure at start, an air leak bleeding down the fuel line a little, or a weak VP44 due to previous issues. There really isn't a number for initial start up that I am aware of. If he isn't having issues anywhere else while driving, I would consider looking at the line for leaks. If there isn't much evident, there aren't many options to troubleshoot air leaks other than start changing O rings and banjo seals.
  21. So, the light stays on? Hmm... I wonder if it is the switch. I've had switches go bad. Anybody with a manual truck here, does your light reset every time you start the truck?
  22. Wow. When I replace my sending unit, I will likely add a straw.
  23. That is good, and you must have done your install right, a lot of guys seem to have issues... Especially on hills. How much clearance between the tank and the straw?
  24. A big line kit is good. A draw straw is way overrated in my opinion and creates less usable fuel in the tank.
