Defective Head Gasket
That sucks, so much labor and every time you take it off there is the chance of something else braking. You need to put a zipper on it for easier removal and installs.

Suggestions for injectors, turbo, head gasket.
The Edge Juice w/ Attitude CS2 Dodge/Ram 5.9L 2001-2002 – 31401 is CARB legal https://edgeproducts.com/50-state-legal-products/ If you're going to put an exhaust brake on check if it will bolt to the turbo and what is the size of the down pipe for it. My exhaust brake, Pacbrake, bolted right to the back of the HX35 turbo and came out at 4". You can also get it in a 3" down pipe version.

I'm from the school of "if it ain't brook don't fix it". I put those in at 97k miles and they made a big change in power for the best. The 50hp injectors are good low power increase too. The Edge tuner may not be able to control smoke with bigger injectors. Others would know more about that then me. I have an HX35 and max out at 30 psi. I can pull a 6% grade to 8K feet at 55 mph pulling a 9k lb trailer with a little power to spare. It's less than mine.

Does the adrenaline affect the e c m
Still, if the tuner is attached to the vehicle and does not have a CARB E.O. number the vehicle will fail the CA SMOG test. I use to remove the EDGE EZ from my truck before a test Here is another article about the EPA and diesel tunes. https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/1903-is-diesel-tuning-dead/

Thinking about getting a 3rd gen.
I'm keeping mine; it does what I want which is pull the 5th wheel. Since October 2019 : Dynamic stage 2 trans, 4 new Michelins, paint and body work, new LMC dash, new speakers and amp, bed rail covers and tie downs, and a Pacbrake. I bought it used in 04 for $24k with just over 28K miles. It now has 123K.

What size generator to get?
Only four other people have driven my truck since I've owned it. A friend, so he could take his dad to the hospital when we were camping, @JAG1 , @Mopar1973Man, and my wife because she owns half of it. I've had a few others ask to "borrow it" and the answer is "go to U-Haul; they rent them".

How much money is the drug companies making from the government with complete immunity from liability on an unproven/general population tested product. A sweet deal.

postpone using heat-producing appliances like the oven, dishwasher, clothes washer, and dryer my mistake, it's 78° for the AC all so turn off all unnecessary lights, use fans for cooling, and unplug unused items.

Nationwide Weather
I remember back in the late 70's there was a drought and there was water restrictions and there have been several droughts since then. The last major dam built in Cali was 1979. Do you think they stopped building homes, condos, or apartments...NO. They say "people need a place to live" I say fine let them live some where else. It's the same with electricity here; not enough power during high demand times so the state has a "Flex Alert" for people to conserve power by setting the AC to 80, turn off all non essential appliances, and (here is my favorite) don't charge your electric cars. In my county in the past few years the closed two oil fired power plants along with two nuclear power reactors and replaced them with a few wind turbines. This is the stuff 3ed world countries are made of. Well they got what they voted for.

Yet Another Fog Light Thread
If you have a fog light relay in the PDC and the wires and plug are at the head light switch then may be the connectors for the fog lights are all ready behind the bumper and its plug and play. Have you looked behind the bumper and under the radiator core support?

Head Leak
What he said. The only legal spray brake cleaner in California is non-chlorinated.

Head Leak
I would use the ultra gray. I've made an oil pan gasket for a Mitsubishi truck with the gray. The owner sold the truck 5 years after I rebuilt the engine and it didn't leak a drop. Do like dripley said and GET IT CLEAN ; the sealant will no stick to metal contaminated with oil. Clean with mineral spirits then spray with brake cleaner. Ultra black is a good sealant that I use as a thin coating on certain gaskets.

The brown with yellow tracer (BR/YL) wire in the bottom photo is the ground wire that goes into the headlight switch for the fog light relay in the PDC. The Black with orange (BK/OR) wire next to it is the ground for the head light switch.
