Anyone Know.....
So by having CAD or not, it just means there are two different types of 4wd engagement on the front axle?

Anyone Know.....
It is on the 01 Laramie. I thank you guys for this as my trucks dipping wet with rain coming down and I'm having to do house chores with my wifes sprained ankle. Don't worry about crawling under your trucks, I will get under mine and figure it out. I just thought if someone knew........ BTW, both my trucks, I assume have CAD, because they are 4wd.

They look like they might be big enough to be vacuum lines, but stop on the top side of the plate.

Anyone Know.....
What are those two wires/ cables going down to the front of skid plate for? Under the trans they are attached to the skid plate. I came down my road with my clock and radio station display not showing. So I noticed ice build up on top of the skid plate with two wires also surrounded in ice. After carefully removing the packed snow, I turned on the ignition and the clock /station display sort of fisseled back into action. Anyone know what else they go to? Not a very good location for grounds if that's what they are. T.I.A.

Injector ash
I try to stay around 1 ounce per gallon, but don't don't get technical about it. If I'm filling a half tank I pour in a half bottle that way it gets mixed as the tank is filling with fuel. If its hot weather and I'm hauling heavy I might add a little more at times, but not much more.

Dually suggestions
I like the 4th on the list but I think the 5 spd trans would be better and I usually stay away from trucks that have had a lot of work done to them. I like them all original and look like they have not been worked too hard. I would try staying all original 5 spd. and under 200k miles with a nice interior.

If the gravel gets wet how do you guys deal with getting it to roll out of the dump truck?
-
Valuable parts question
Don't let these guys know around here.... you'll need the meanest full time guard dog you can find

Injector ash
I think Moparman does 10 ounces for 10 gallons. Me.... I usually guestimate pouring a full bottle of 2 stroke filling a 3/4 empty tank. Engine seems to thank me for doing that.

Yeah I know you guys do back east. Don't know how you do it. For years I worked mostly in the rain which is cold when 35-40 in winter. Worked in snow as well but rarely snows out west in the lowlands. The minus 5 was very unusual for us out here.

Lift Pump took a dump
Amazing a business will behave like that. News like that spreads like wildfire. A company with a helpful polite attitude usually ends up the most successful.

Worse we ever had was minus 5. The wind was howling and it was so cold the most I could take was Quickly filling a wheel barrow with firewood and getting it up to the door. That was with long johns heavy jacket, jeans and hat on. Can't imagine what you guys go thru. I had an outside job, but we all stayed home till daily highs went back to normal averaging 40 for the high.

Injector ash
probably ought to change over to low ash 2 stroke oil.

Laughter is very good medicine
I don't know Dieselfuture, I've run into situations that required every bit of thinking power to create a solution. Lucky enough to present creative ideas to many clients, I got a chance to open their eyes a few times. It's a great feeling to impress the unimpressible. I doubt a computer will ever have enough flexibility to think beyond earthly thinking. Now I have to admit I've been out in space many times.

I feel for you Dave. A good job manager, contractor general needs to be right in it with his subs not on a keyboard. Used to solving construction problems all day everyday, you don't need a situation taking more time making others understand, only because they think they can save or manage funds better than you. It drives me nuts when my subs are waiting for me to help with something and the owner calls with nothing but questions. I've gotten to the point the only problems I make them aware of is the ones that require more funds. Or we need a dozen Doughnuts brought to the job right now and I'll explain it to you

Does this bother anyone else?
Think of the work he had getting it to that point . Next thing you know some poor buyers posting, asking about how to get the rear axle centered with the wheel well and if there's supposed to be a space between the cab and bed. Poor guy.

I know what you mean about the changed times. Its hard for me understand.......... Why people talk so fast and pronounce only a portion of the words. The way cars look. The numbers of people everywhere Signing those computer screens with that silly pen that been handled by a thousand others....... what if the guy before had chicken pox or something?

There's a lady that was hauling lumber in the back of a mini bed like that, letting it stick out the back, she came around a highway turn and the lumber flipped out. Another guy on a Harley came around the bend, immediatly tried avoiding the scattered lumber and was killed. I do not like those beds at all.

I know what you mean because something very funny can happen that is tough to put into words or doesn't come out right when you try. Right now we got a lot of snow for western Oregon and supposed to go work on a building, but its cold so waiting for temps to rise bit. I'm a big sissy

Strange Noise
I once had a buddy walking along side my truck while idling up to his shop. He kept hearing a ticking sound and it turned out to be that I had a slightly bent inside dust cover to the front brakes that was rubbing on the wheel.

Strange Noise
Bad idler pulley? Also wondering about something caught in the rear drums perhaps. Try slowing with it in neutral with brakes only might help detect something.

Buy Fass Titanium from?
I think Diesel future shops at Safeway.

Strange Noise
Perhaps the A/C compressor clutch kicking on/off if heat control is left on defrost?

Your welcome boss. Laughter is the best, but If your used to eating those type chicken peckers you got there don't blame me if/ when you might chew into the type we got here as there might be 15 BBs to go.
