  1. Only reason I went with RedHead was they are very close to me and they have good reviews. I like it when a vender is close enough I can scream in their ear if it's not right.
  2. Just got a RedHead on last month. It is just the stock replacement, but it is very smooth very steady steering. It so good I think I could have the job of painting the road lines. No leaks either. Bad part was I had it installed so I had to redo his shet work from Holbrook. Been going there since 1981 and I will never...... ever....... never......again.
  3. Thanks IBMobile. You had to tow your sons car. He left it miles from home didn't he?
  4. Please tell me what a 'flex piece' is in the exhaust...... I'm so old my Mother in Law came from Oaklahoma in a covered wagon have never heard of that before. T.I.A.
  5. Perfect! Time to go camping.... I'm on my way up Nick!
  6. If I'm ever looking for another truck I'll be calling to see if yours is up for sale I really enjoy doing the work on mine and take the time to make up for all the garbage work done in the past. The more I skip those guys do my own job well done, the better I feel. Matter of fact, even if I had a bad case of Covid, I'd probably still be dancin around my truck if it wasn't raining out there.
  7. I think your getting it figured out. It is so cool the way you are so thorough to double check everything before jumping in. That says a lot about you.
  8. What do you mean the batteries were drained? Are you saying the batteries drained down just overnight without anything left on?
  9. I think DAP may not be responsible for all work done to the parts they sell, but I think if a problem exists they won't just sweep it under the shop mat. I think they will take care of you. Waiting to hear As to emergency engine shut down..... would it be wise to have a ball shut off valve on the oil supply tube that runs to the turbo hub bearings? A smart way of installing a pull cable so you can shut the valve without going near 'world war three' would be great. Would it work though?
  10. Has Schaeffer Diesel Treat 2000 been tested for scoring value? I wouldn't use if not listed on the lab test showing the value. 2 stroke has been tested at 1 oz. to the gallon of diesel and brings the value low enough to meet Bosch's specs. 2 stroke even lowers the gel temperatures. I have parked overnight in 18 degree weather without issue using heavy dose of two stroke. Hoping Mopar1973Man jumps in with some info too. In 25 years of driving Cummins I've learned to carry an extra idler pully wheel and bearing. You need the right torque tip and a 3/8ths ratchet to change the pully wheel and bearing off the arm. They sell in one replaceable unit, before Covid inflation, for around 30 bucks.
  11. I don't think it matters to the liberals with Harris and the squad behind him ready to present their agenda. Kinda like sneaking an unpopular far left monster in the back door. I'm waiting for a time when it goes so far that the good people of this country take it back, peacefully of course. I'm afraid though that by then America will be bankrupt, with its resources, its beautiful forests and parks over taxed from use, open borders, excessive harvesting and mining, people in general working harder to produce, creating more deterioration/ pollution to pay excessive taxes and fees imposed on the people to stop climate change. It is something I am still trying to understand and realize how Amazing it was talked about it even before the industrial revolution or the invention of the combustion engine, warning us of the time that set the stage for those times to come. Basically telling of the inevitable, to keep the faith in who warned us and to get along with each other, having no contention nor hate for anything. Imagine not hating your truck anymore.... actually forgiving it for all the grief Sunday lesson for today
  12. I live out in the woods and have not logged much of my 5 acres, but dang some trees getting too big to harvest since there are no saw mills that can handle over 35 inch diameter. It's like living surrounded by an old state park. I like it alright, but it seems like the bigger they get the larger, faster and fatter they can get each year. It's kinda scary in what used to look like ordinary trees are now suddenly monsters I should start some off grid systems Like MoparMan.... it's pretty smart.
  13. Back in the day while in college I remember it often generally weighed heavy, with others too, in the way they talked that it was important to learn something so you can be self sufficient with a skill, trade, or management ability to do a job that you like. Now I'm not so sure about the colleges, seem to have have a different approach
  14. Which means others will step in to help him run things. All they want is contrary to everything the good hard working industrious American way of life folks want, just to make their own way, stand on their own two feet and do the right thing.
  15. It's funny my old KMart creeper was great for many years, repaired it a few times. Now the same one sells around 3 times what I originally paid $24.95. Now sells on the net for 74 dollars. I'm amazed they still make those wooden ones. I do carry a padded mat with me in the RV on long trips. IBMobile likes using it and it helps slide things in and out of storage in the RV with the 5 foot long basement. Now you got me regretting my not getting one...... Oh well, I can try out the AFF and report about it.
  16. Pretty cool way of handling that problem and thank you for letting us know the solution. So you are saying 'one wire alternator'.... does that mean just the single heavy charge cable? Being 'self regulated,' does it mean that it can read thru the charge cable as to what the batteries need for charge level?
  17. I like cardboard too, but my trouble is it rains often here and the driveway is wet working in between rain showers. It's nice to have a 4x4, a little higher and something I can easily dry off before laying down again.
  18. I think most are going to eventually do want they want anyway. I'm seeing signs people are letting their guard down somewhat.
  19. I heard it's got burns and beer stains from puttin out the fires when you do electrical work under yer truck..
  20. I didn't like some of the reviews on those. I found an Ergonomic Plastic molded one with good reviews Made by American Forge and Foundry. Special order only at Lowes for $145, I found for half that at Cardid It's their heavy duty one # 3909 a bit longer and wider with tool trays. I will mount some metal plates near the headrest for magnetic LEDs
  21. Best ever seen . See if I can look it up.......... It's called the Human Hoist. for $12,000 Bucks. I don't think I'll be doing that. It was not available when the video was made and cannot find a Vid showing anyone that has purchased one yet. I don't think they are on the market yet. That would be a good tax write off for those that have a business and have physical disabilities. May need a docs letter to be able to write the whole thing off, not sure on something like that. Thanks Doubletrouble it's really cool.
  22. What does she usually do when your caught telling a lie? Not sure I want to know......
  23. There are quite a few creepers on the market these days, but most have complaints about breaking, plastic tearing near the wheels, wheels worn out in two weeks, bearings falling out, etc. Does anyone have one they can recommend? My old wood one from Kmart I bought back in 73, has seeing its last days. With all the bad reviews I thought of going to Snap-On for their standard duty creeper. T.I.A for any thoughts or warnings on which one to go for or stay away from.
  24. Did you say that with a big honkin smile? That usually gets it out of telling a lie territory.
  25. Interesting too is Oregon and Washington seem to have lower infection rates. I wonder if that has to do with the greater amounts of incoming Pacific storms and fresh air pushing in from the ocean and greater amount of rain to help freshen the air.
