  1. Sorry I FUBARed the links the first try!!!!!
  2. Heck, the first 4 years that I had my '99, I averaged 30-35,000 miles/year. In 2003 I moved way closer to where most of my work is, and I cut my yearly mileage by 1/3. My old '99 at just over 5 years old had almost 145,000 miles on her before I got my '04.5 and gave the '99 to the P's. I'm just now sneaking up on 130,000 miles with the '04.5, but it's almost 6.5 years old now!!! Now I average about 20-23,000 miles/year. Much of that is on my "trips" that I tell y'all about. If I put on 50-60miles/day now, that's above normal.
  3. I've checked the ones I've used in the past, and it's a "no go"!!! Do you have a NAPA place near you????? They can get most anything. If they can't get it, you'll either have to go the dealership route, or fab them up yourself. Hey Mike.........fabbing them himself shouldn't be that hard......should it???? --- Update to the previous post... And it's a 2006 also............has it been sitting idle in a salt factory???!!!!! Something doesn't seem right here. This shouldn't happpen this fast, even in the "rust belt"!! Believe me, I know!!!
  4. Try these.... http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1558645#Post1 http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1107478#Post1107478
  5. Here's some reading on the topic. I read about folks doing this over on Bobistheoilguy.com a while back. I knew that I had posted it here, but it was in the staff section so it didn't show up in searches. Then I had to dig a bit. Anyhow, here's the links. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...=1558645#Post1 and http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...78#Post1107478 Happy reading.
  6. One of these days Mike!!!! I've told you in the past, I've got a cousin in Kalispell, MT..........that coupled along with when I move to North Dakota..............it'd be only half the driving time I have now to get there. I'd really love to see your place................not to mention meeting MoparMom!!!!!!
  7. I've not seen a "full time 4x4" in a real truck offered for a while now. Maybe since the late 70's or early '80's!!! There are times I wish I had it on my truck, because of the transfer case differential!!!! That would make low speed turns much less gut wrenching to listen to!!!! Is there even a differentiated transfer case that could be used on our trucks without going "crazy" heavy duty or "military"????
  8. Over 4 years now and almost 90,000 miles running the stuff and not one problem in my 04.5.
  9. I thought this thread was gonna be about "real estate"!!!!!!:banghead:
  10. You and me both!!! I just got home from picking up my new pup!!!! She's the daughter of my BLM........only she's "chocolate"!!!!! And talk about "attitude"!!!!!! Must be a female thing!!!!! Spud, my BLM, doesn't quite know what to make of her yet. Anyhow, back on topic. I want to move to the "high plains". Hopefully in about the next 3 years I can do that. That'll put me close to 50 and then maybe I graduate to "shoeing horses" to a part time job!!!
  11. Thanks for the heads up. Hmmm.........limit of 8 and you picked up 16. Did you go back twice??!!
  12. Most newer sleds and later version outboards are oil injected.........meaning that you do not have to pre-mix the gasoline and 2 stroke oil. It's done auto-magically somewhere in the fuel system/engine. That said, it order for oil injection to work, it has to flow......especially in sleds that are used in really cold temps. That's the reason for anti gel in the 2 stroke oil.
  13. How do you not do it living in OK???!!! With the sun and heat y'all get down there, you gotta do something.
  14. If you've not done Mikes breather/puke vent mod, you've probably got an oily, slimy mess covering the cooling fins on your radiator, intercooler and trans cooler. When I had my '99, I used to spray down the radiator etc. with a mixture of simple green and water. I'd let it sit a while and then spray it out. Made for a cooler running truck in short order.
  15. Don't know how I missed this video when you posted it???!!!! Anyhow, I looked up the word "redneck" in my dictionary, and the guy that owns that truck was pictured!!!!:lmao2:
  16. I got the Huskey brand in my 04.5. I bought them from Cabelas (best price) when the truck was brand new. I like them a lot.
  17. Here's a couple pix of my trailer in the drive. Statically, the tires aren't squatting/bulging etc., but they really do "flex" a lot going down the road over bumps, expansion joints etc. Any insight would be appreciated. Hardcore towers, please chip in!!!:thumbup2:
  18. OK gang.......y'all have seen my new work trailer. I really don't care for the squishy tires on her now. They're "C" rated which means I can put 50psi of air into them, but I'm riding close to the GVW of this trailer now and would like a bit of insurance if at all possible. The tire size on the trailer now is 205/75 15C. They're made by Goodyear......which means they'll last "A Year"...............that's my opinion on GY tires!!!! I know I can get the same tire size in "D" rated tires from my Cooper dealer, as I have them on my old trailer. I was considering jumping up to a 225 sized tire, but I don't know if'n it'll fit in the fender well. I guess I should do some measuring. An "E" rated trailer tire in the 205 size would be ideal. What would y'all do???? Jump up a tire size if possible and a weight rating or 2, or just go with the "D" rating in the OEM tire size. I'll say again, it looks pretty tight in the wheel well of this trailer. If y'all hang on, I'll go out and take some pix for you. The trailer is still hitched up, as I'm gonna work tomorrow/Saturday because I spent 3 days last week setting up this new trailer and dismantling my old my old trailer.........so I'm a bit behind on my schedule book. Hang on Dudes!!
  19. I call my truck.......Mighty Whitey!!!!!:cool:Plus I had a lot of white paint left over when I painted the inside walls of the new trailer!!!!
  20. That's what I'm trying to avoid with this trailer........especially now with the squishy tires...........is going air born!!! I was also trying to keep it small and inconspicuous enough to avoid the cops. Around here they're cracking down on pick-ups towing trailers for work.............can you say DOT Number!!!!!!! Odds are I won't get stopped because of the small size of my trailer and because I don't have any company name or advertising on the side of the truck or trailer. I'm gonna put some political signs on the trailer before the November elections though. A nice, new, clean trailer would make for a good mobile billboard for my candidates of choice!!!!
  21. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking Mike. The heavier tires will/should also get rid of the side to side slop in the side walls also. Even with me just walking in and out, I can get her rocking and rolling!!!! She does pull nice down the road though. Seems to pull better at faster speeds also.
  22. I finally got her set up to work out of. It was harder to all that in the afternoon last week in that God awful oppressive heat than it was to shoe horses in that God awful oppressive heat!!!! Anyhow, I downsized a bit. My old trailer was a 6x12 double axle. This one is 6x10 and a single axle. I'm not traveling the highways to work like I used to.........heck, my furthest account is 25 miles one way. If I put on 75 miles with my work trailer a day now, that's a lot. Plus I can keep extra inventory in my garage.I went to the scales today to weigh everything. Combined GVW was 11,420. Both truck axles with the trailer on were 8600lbs give or take a bit. The trailer axle weighed in at 2700lbs or so. The GVW on the trailer is 3500lbs. so I'm pretty close to the red line!!!! I'm gonna guess I have about a 3-400lb. tongue weight on the trailer now. One thing I am gonna do is.......when these OEM trailer tires wear out, I'm gonna get some D or E rated tires for this thing. It's a bit bouncey for my taste.....or maybe I'm just used to a double axle trailer. Here's the pix. Any suggestions will be tolerated!!!
  23. It may no longer be so, but before I changed to Valvoline Premium Blue, I could still get WallyWorld SuperTech 15W40 Dino in CI+ formulation. That oil was a good performer in my truck for over 80K miles without a complete oil change!!!
  24. I can see a new poll being created soon!!!
  25. Looks like a "party wagon"!!!! What are you plans for the inside??..........small hotel?????.........homeless shelter???.............or just another place for "your stuff"???!!!!!:lmao2:
