  1. You can buy an inline fitting so you can get a fuel pressure reading, once you get your FASS. You can even delete the stock filter canister.
  2. Yes, you can use the one closest to the center. (and kinda toward the front)For me, it was easier to use the tapped banjo bolt, which replaces the OE banjo on the feed line.
  3. I wait til the truck warms up, or at least I don't drive until it hits 140*, and don't romp on it til 180*. If I can afford it, I'll probably go ahead and buy the whole unit. Thanks for the info.
  4. Well, I don't really need high idle. I rarely crank the truck when it's below freezing outside. I figured the MPG fooler would help some.
  5. Don't get caught hauling for hire without a CDL...
  6. I've looked at that site before, and I was wondering if it would work on a 2 wheel drive. That website makes it sound like only the 4x4's have the 5th gear problem...
  7. Would you be interested in building a few MPG foolers, and not high idle ECT foolers?
  8. On a '99, you need to have a reader. No key trick.I'm 99.9% sure P0121 will pop up; I'm having the exact same issue. Replace your APPS with a Timbo APPS.
  9. Texas SERIOUSLY needs open carry. I've got 4 years until I can carry though! 10 months until I can keep it in the truck though...
  10. Gotta love electronics.
  11. Vulcan and Diesel Auto Power have killer deals on Isspro EV's.
  12. I think the EV2's have a universal pressure sensor used on all EV2 pressure gauges. - - - Updated - - - Kinda looks thata-way. . . http://www.dieselmanor.com/isspro/r89141.asp
  13. I'm not as smart as you fellas, but I'm pretty sure an EV2 boost gauge has a sending unit just like a fuel pressure gauge does. Look for it tapped into the intake horn, or along the intake manifold near the injection lines, or possibly down by the MAP sensor.
  14. I've had my regulator apart probably 50 times, attempting to get my pressure set right, and I usually just shoot a little air in the tank and close up the banjo, and it's good to go, but one time my needle valve was loose, and it completely lost prime, and it was a PAIN to re-prime. The other day I was doing regulator work, and it was real hard to re-prime for some reason... The oil isn't that big of a deal really, but it'd be nice if it wouldn't leak. Manual, so that's not the problem.
  15. I wish we had some thorn-less black berries. The big juicy ones are always down in the center, but it's worth the bloodshed to pluck the big sucker and eat 'em.
  16. Well, I'm kinda tired of 9 PSI at idle, and then the fuel pressure fallows the tach. (1,500 RPM = 15 PSI, 2,000 RPM = 19-20 PSI)So to get it right, I would need to run dual return lines, and buy an adjustable regulator. :spend:On top of that, it drips a little oil out of the pan bolts. (very little oil. I lose more oil when I wipe the dipstick off)And it's pretty hard to prime, especially if you're by yourself. When I was looking for a lift pump, the Assassin looked like a pretty good deal, and it was, and all I read was good things about it, and I liked the simplicity of it. In a way I still like it, and I guess if I had the money, I could make it work. But, instead of spending money on it, it's time for a FASS HPFP.I guess the main thing that scares me, is if my dad gets off somewhere, and a belt breaks, or something happens where he would have to re-prime it, and it being a PITA to prime, I don't want that to happen.A lot of people have had good luck with the Assassin, and I guess I've had fair luck with it, but I think for peace of mind, and more importantly, VP44 longevity, I'm going to get a FASS.
  17. I'd give DAP a ring on the telephone.
  18. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/166-p0236-map-sensor-too-high-too-long
  19. How is it doing with the injectors at VP pressure? How's the smoke compared to VP w/ 7x.010's only?
  20. Good to hear! Would you mind telling me how your return lines are set up?
  21. Don't forget before and after videos!
  22. I believe you are correct. I'm going to save up for a good adjustable regulator, and get rid of the bypass.
