oil companies are big business, we will pay one way or another.

Another Million mile Dodge to the record books...
i have found most people's definition of "a good vehicle" is the interior and if it can make it to 200k... the world now treat cars/trucks like computers and cell phones. "I don't need to know how or why it works, only how to turn it on and operate it." i cannot think of anyone in my family and close circle of friends that drive a stick(other than my wife, we have 4 of'em). of those people only one ,maybe two, actually change their automatic transmission fluid per manufacture's spec(or ever). i have come to realize that with V6s and V8s...most people don't realize a head gasket is going until they've warped the head(s)....

new injpump, head'n out on a long trip
different injectors might give a different spray pattern. if your lift pump starts getting weak it will starve your injection pump and give bad mileage(among other things)

Manual trans swap.
i have heard some people with ~500HP chew up the input shaft...like i said, if you are going to open it, buy a cheap good one and buy shafts. high HP means billet input and most upgraded outputs have the threads farther and that stops the 5th gear nut from backing off. as others have said, 6speed parts are extremely hard to come buy and will be pricey. something else...these transmissions are sensitive about the fluid in them.

UH Huh, like this will ever be possible?
i think you guys forgot one thing....as long as it is profitable...the current players will keep the status quo(one of the few problems with runaway capitalism) innovation and progress often get the backseat to profits. just like other industries in the US, without regulation, they would continue the status quo....and just like the other industries, if they wouldn't drag their feet, then the regulation would not have happened

JL Welding...
i was thinking the guy who's truck dies as it goes into D...he needs it turned on so it won't die...but seriously, i heard this from guys going from manual to auto trans...if they didn't swap the ecm then the could hardly bring the truck to a stop(the anti-stall keeps fueling and you have to brake over the motor fueling)

Clutch not disengaging..
are you sure that old one wasn't a stock? i know you said that it was a SBC...but like i said before....

Oil spill...
wait for the settlements to start...then we will really be paying

Manual trans swap.
i've never done the swap myself, but the things people have told me are:flywheel, clutch, transmission, hole for the stick, cross members, drive shaftsthe ecm on the manuals have anti-stall turned on, while the autos ecm has it disabledthe 99 and newer nv4500s have the "upgraded nut" but if your gonna open it, get what ever and get the upgrade shafts to solve potential 5th gear problem

Strange codes
i have read where people have surging problems(always seems like autos) and it and the APPS being the culprit. my first thought was "does he have his timboAPPS setup up correctly?", but after looking it up. 117 is "Engine coolant temperature sensor input below the minimum acceptable voltage"i would try to eliminate wiring problem before throwing big money at the problem

tc lock/unlock
you need to wire up a lock up switch (or a manual trans ). as for the cause...i've heard people say everything from solenoids to pcm to alternator.

running without intercooler boots
when the truck is running(with intercooler plumbed in) there isn't a vacuum. air escapes those cracks...not sucking stuff up. without it plumbed in you only have to worry about "sucking" stuff into the horn

fuel system setup Q's
when i got my airdog 150, the instructions said to skip the factory canister. i have read that the vp44 has a fuel temp sensor inside it. so i decided to plumb it back in. i did all this before the cold hit this winter. yesterday will trying to figure out why my turn signals didn't work, i found out the the fuse for the fuel element was out. the relay for that was scorching hot. those funny fuse are expensive.long story short....make sure the canister works before spending $ to plumb it in

Finally figured out why my truck is lacking power
then i should add washers to that list and sandwich it in there...am i correct in assuming that 35psi this way should not cause any problems
-
Finally figured out why my truck is lacking power
interesting...i was going to use a rubber cap, using nuts to hold/seal the air fitting. anyone see any problems to what im suggesting? to clarify, just a rubber cap, a air fitting, and some nuts. it would be shorter than the one in the pic

Cluster Bezel removal
nah....if you take the dash out...you can lay down new fiberglass resin on the inside....and paint the outside(that you see).my bezel broke a little to the left of the double vents in the center, when i took it off to put in a different radio. it was about a 2"-3" chunk. super glued it a its not as noticeable as a 3" hole. some one out there makes a dash they guarantee will not crack.

Finally figured out why my truck is lacking power
well after reading this post i dicided to check mine. i can see the fender has rubbed the boot but not sure if its leaking. going to hardware store in the morning to make something i can use to pressurize the intake

Cluster Bezel removal

Dropping the 47re (a618)
that was the single hardest/heaviest part of the 4l60e job we rebuilt. that thing is HEAVY and packed into a small space. when we did that job we used a scissor style trans jack. the trans or transfer case wouldn't roll out on the jack(we didn't he the truck high enough). so we put cardboard down and put them on the cardboard, and slid the cardboard. oh...plan on buying a lot of fluid.
