  1. i notice the same thing hauling our moving trailer....the smoothest ride at 75 mph that i've driven in months!
  2. i am curious to see your next UOA. the thing i have noticed seperates the brands, is the additive blends they add to the base oil...a few barely add anything. i switched from SuperTech to Valvoline Blue after reading this report: http://forum.mopar1973man.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=77
  3. that is a nice find....now which city are my tools in?
  4. i have probably put 1500 miles on the truck since i change the gearbox(oe replacement from oreilly's), pitman arm, and added the steering brace. after i changed the parts, ACME Wheel aligned the front for $35. truck tracks straight down the road, but the new box is soooo touchy. there is not a "dead zone" in the middle. i can actually feel it break one way, straighten it out and it breaks the other way. i feel like i am ether left or right(even if it is very slight). i wish i had the extra $330 to spring for the borg box, but i'm hoping my cardone replacement last another 180k with the pitman shaft support.it did take my 700 miles to get use to how tight the steering is!
  5. i have the limited slip on my 99. i think my hood tag says something about it there. the easiest way is to lift the rear-end and spin the wheels with your hand. if both wheels are off the ground the wheel spin the same direction, it has limited slip. if they spin oppisite direction, then it is open diff. will check the hood sticker in a few
  6. i am in a similar boat. when my wife and i were introduced, she owned a 93 honda accord. ~2.5 yrs ago the head gasket blew out. bought a donor car and have been fighting that battle ever since. finally got everything working good(including the electronics and ac). and now its on the blink. something killed a good battery. it had 7volts at the terminals and was missing real bad.my ranger's 5speed has me looking for a salvage trans. out of the truck, you can spin the input and it works in every gear. when its in the truck, all gears work, except 5th. you put it into gear and let off the clutch. it grinds and throws its self out of gear. i have tore it apart ~4 times and now have stretched the $45 tapered roller bearing the supports the output shaft. it now whines when moving.:banghead: of the 2trucks and 2 cars that run, only 2 have batteries(dodge and wifey's riding the 90 cavalier). we have been juggling regular maintenance with the money available:broke: since oct.(when worked died out). and now we are moving 100 miles away to a house with no garage and 1 car driveway. i wonder where i can park 5 car's and 3 trailers:stuned:i wish i lived closer to you russ. i would come over and help you get your cirris running. check out that 5" exhaust on your CTD. it is fortunate that you have enough to help your daughter, as many of my friends are not so lucky.
  7. i get the "dog's breathe" when i first turn mine on. it doesn't seem quite as bad if i turn the ac off before i kill the motor.
  8. it probably could be reflashed(most can). the question is whom do you know with a bench to do the work? as far as fueling goes the HO produces 10hp/45foot lbs more than the SO. it also has a higher compression and a vp44 designed differently. i personally don't think the ecm fuels much more than SO, or the #'s would be higher:2cents:
  9. not tonight. the family and i are moving 100 miles to OKC. almost finished loading the 1st load:thumb1: at the moment, it is hard to get access a comp and have it long enough to anything across
  10. i am in a similar situation. i feel like there are not enough hours in the day. on the other hand, if there's grass in the field, make hay.
  11. get some turn signals, head/tail lights, and a tag and you would be street legal in the great state of OK:lmao2:but seriously, i hope it corners well. my father had trouble navigating his narrow home
  12. had the belt split on a rear tire and it gave a horrible vibration
  13. i tried the hack saw, but the last 1/3 of the pipe was out of reach of the blade. ended up get the torch out:whistle:
  14. i know whom you refer to. i found his threads on 3 different forums. i found his info after he disappered, and have slowly been trying to do it myself. going kinda slow cause i don't have a laptop. i am currently stuck with a old desktop on a cart.:banghead: the pins in the obd2 port have a specific function. flashchat with me sometime and we can talk more. ---------- Post added at 10:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:30 PM ---------- yes i also see a quadzilla adrenaline in my future also
  15. my box could not keep a filter seated. after it was snaped the filter would not seal and would always colapse the filter. there has only been once that the BHAF wasn't seated, when i took it off(for work) and had a friend put it back on. plus most people realize i'm not playing when they see a CAT filter under the hood. if mileage is effected by the IAT sensor like some people believe, then you would see would see increases with warmer air and low boost.
  16. same with my truck. i typically am the slowest driver on the turnpike. i try to stay above 60 for safety, as the posted speedlimit is 75 and most do 80
  17. the ford house isn't any better. but my buddy's 94 GMC 3/4ton has the cheapest price for parts. that would be my thought
  18. you forgot, "Greed is good". -Wall Street
  19. oic, i think skid plates are in my future, just got to find everything's order:banghead:(quadzilla, frontend work, pillar gauges,?vp44?,skidplates,spray-in bedliner)
  20. install was easy. i keep a floor jack on the sway bar to lower and raise it. the truck goes to the alignment shop in the morning and ~120 mile trip afterward to work. i changed the gearbox and pitman arm at the same time i installed this(2 new front tires last week). steering wheel is much tighter and wandering is gone, but there still is a little bit of "dead space" in the steering wheel. MUCH improved over how it was. i am hoping that my BD steering box/pitman arm support will get this reman box to last the 180k that the first one made it to. good thing o'reilly had a lifetime warranty(on the gearbox)
  21. you took my cupcake! just tell me where to find decent gauges and we're even.
  22. i'm installing mine today! if your thinking about one, here are the instructions http://forum.mopar1973man.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=82
