So its been winter here, and during this period my wife backed into front of my truck. Quite a lot of damage to hers, almost not a scratch on mine. However summer is here an I go to put on AC and nada. So obvious thought is she damaged the AC condensor at front. I black light everything - cant see anything from the previous dye..... might be too old. I vacuum everything down. It goes from 28HG to around 25HG in around 4 hours. So must have a leak. So then I primed with compressed air to 100psi through high with system open (means both sides at 100). Couldn't hear any leaks. Sprayed with soapy water - that didn't do anything except make a …

Alright, so I'm at a loss here. Well, maybe not entirely. I have a theory! :smart:So, the other day I was coming home from work and noticed the EGT gauge was reading abnormally low. Like less than 200 while driving. I knew something was funky. But, I also shrugged it off after as I figured maybe it was from decelerating.Well, last night I was driving again and I could not get the temp to read higher than 250. WTF! :banghead:I replaced the thermocouple 2 summers ago! Even made a thread about it! Have not touched it since than and cannot even begin to think what could be doing it. The gauge, maybe? Then I tested my theory. I got on the freeway to go to my destination, goosed…

I was at a junkyard today looking for a grill for my truck and i spotted a 1997-1998 (guessing) Ram 2500 that had an overhead console with temp readout. I started tearing it apart and got the hole wiring harness and console. Anyone know if this will work in my 2002 ? I am hoping they used the same harness for things like this in all those trucks, my trucks in the bodyshop so i can't look at the plug connections. One thing it was missing or at least I couldn't find it..was the temp sensor , and I haevn't got a clue where it was or where it would even hook in to it, anyone help me with some info , and if I wasted my time tearing this out

I am completely disgusted with the interior in my 96’ Ram 2500 as everything is just falling apart. I still don’t have a top dash, the kick panel under the steering column broke and fell off, the bezel that goes around the steering column cracked and fell off, the glove box door hinges broke, the overhead pushbutton lights broke, the hand holds on the door panels are cracked, and the HVAC control unit is cracked. Did I manage to get the truck with the single worst interior on the planet? I’m about ready to gut this garbage out and start from scratch.

Im getting a metal to metal hit when I hit a good dip in the road. They are doing constant roadwork here and where they scrape the road out a few inches my truck hits metal to metal where the road gets higher again. I have crawled under the truck and the only place I see shiny metal is on the frame crossmember under the oil panand I can feel nicks cut into the tie rod that connects to the pitman arm. I wonder if a 1" dropped pitman arm would fix this and why its just now happening?

2001 ram 2500. Just replaced wiring harness with that of a 2002 parts trick. Finally got it running but the cruise light stays on form the time the key is turned on to off. I have tried holding the buttons. I have tried tapping then repeatedly. Before I replaced harness(truck caught fire) the cruise would turn in and off anytime I wanted. Clock spring? Wrong pcm? I’m stumped.

I'm thinking of cleaning my nerf bars up this winter before they rust bad and wanted to use bed liner on them. Anyone have any good experiences? Something thick and durable that won't peel easy... Thanks

I live in south central Texas and here it seldom gets below freezing and if it does its not but a day or two. I deleted my old truck and cant remember how I did it. If I remove the positive wires going to solenoids and to grid is that all there is to it?

I'm still waiting on my ss braided fuel line for my Isspro mechanical fp gauge, but decided to wire up the lights the other day. I tapped into the ash tray light as recommended by geno's garage. Now, I'm getting an intermittent condition of the dome and courtesy lights turning on while I'm driving, and today was inside the store shopping only to leave the store and come outside and hear my factory alarm honking going off. Then 5 minutes later while driving, the flasher unit started making that sound like the relay was opening and closing. My wiring is like this: Ash tray ground line is orange/black. I didn't use this, I used a ground underneath the steering whe…

Alright this will take some explaining I think I got it all but could have missed so let me know and sorry you may want a cup of water or beer and a snack for this one Ok so two years ago about I had to completly rebuild the front brakes this was at about 200,000 maybee a little less now yes I did not buy it new but the person I bought it from said the brakes had been done at around 130,000 ( back on topick that means in thery I got about 70k from them and I am the second owner) the rotors were original and under thickness before even trying to turn so ne rotors, calipers, pin kit and pads got done and found out rwal or any abs for that matter makes it so jack or j…

  15. I am really getting tired of the lead tire weights that fall off and require periodic rebalancing. I have been considering using tire balance beads but have no experience with them. Is anyone here using them??? If so, what is your opinion and experience with them been? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Over the past few months, my vent selector switches to defrost and stays there. Only when I first start up the truck does it switch to what the selector is at. All other vacuum actuated things work... no problems with 4x4 or cruise. Looked over the vacuum system and cannot find any leaks.I went behind the dash and pulled off the yellow hose running to the zone selector vacuum actuator and applied a little suction to the actuator and it works fine, but does take quite a bit of vacuum pressure. Does the zone actuator become worn out or brittle? Thanks for the help, I have run out of things to try.

I have a bad pad that's grinding. I'm going to do a full brake job later, but need to buy some time. I want to replace the pads. Any words of wisdom? I guess I need to lube the sleeves that mount the calipers and make sure they're sliding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just bought this truck and it is a good truck but I get this vibration from the engine, especially at idle on the steering wheel. That`s the place I notice it most although it vibrates at other places as well but not as much as on the steering wheel., it does not skip, in fact it runs and starts great. Could this be a broken motor mount or something? After I start driving it almost stops the vibration until it`s back to idle again. Harmonic balance maybe? Tx.
