My brother-in-law moved his 2003 2500 4wd NV5600 truck yesterday. While he was moving it, I noticed a ticking sound coming from under the hood. Upon investigation we found the whole clutch fan assembly laying in the bottom of the radiator shroud. Not what I expected. The unit had unscrewed itself from the threaded pulley hub. The interesting part is that there is hardly any damage. The large clutch fan nut shows witness marks where the outside of the crank pulley was rubbing and two fan blades show similar wear from rubbing on the crank pulley hub. The fan blades never contacted the radiator or anything else (including the fan clutch thermal switch and wiring harness), wh…

Hello all. Trucks a 2001 5spd/4x4. I had what seemed to be a failing lift pump so I installed a new FASS 150 and straw kit. My pump barely makes noise when I turn the key, sometimes my gauge goes to 2 or 3 psi other times 6 or 7. It seems like the pump is not getting the power it requires. I was told my ECM could be problematic. Truck seems to run fine I occasionally get a spike in my volt meter triggering "check gauges" but wouldn't that be a PCM issue? Any direction is greatly appreciated, I have searched but am nervous to shell out for am ECM if it's something else.

Just did the CAT filter replacement on my fass titanium pump.... called fass tech to double check which filter goes where since I couldn't find the factory instalation directions (had crappy service so couldn't look up online). They told me that the fuel filter goes on the side with two lines and the h20 separator goes on the single line side. Well guess what, that's backwards. I got home and found my paper printed directions. I only drove like 10 miles with the filters backwards.... did I cause any damage? Furthermore, why in the literal hell would anyone at fass tell me incorrect information?

Good morning, currently installing my FASS 165 LP and the directions have me installing an Add-A-Fuse into a ignition hot fuse under the hood it does not talk about wiring the LP into the PCM at all. Can someone point me in the right direction as to where I should place this "add-a-fuse" for the ignition hot. I've added the install manual i'm working with for reference, it's on PDF page 13 step E and F. Thanks and cheers! TS-D08-095G-or-TS-D08-165G-2.pdf

Hey guys began installing a fass TS 165 on my 01 tonight. Just wondering where I hook my wiring harness to start my lift pump. My instructions say hook green and red to battery terminals (did that) then says plug into the oem lift pump harness but my only other connector on the fass harness is a small red wire with a fuse tap. Can I solder this red wire into my oem lift pump harness or do I need to use the add a fuse? Other then hooking up this wire my install is done just waiting till daylight in the morning to finish up. Thanks

I have a fass 165 gph that I've had on my truck since 2014. Lately every other time I start my truck I have no fuel pressure and it stumbles. I replace the relay in the wiring harness but it does it again. What's weird is that the fuse isn't blowing but the relay is. Relays aren't cheap I need to figure this one out. Any ideas?

i will be installing my first lift pump friday ,it on a used 2002 2500 4x4 dodge(duh) 59k miles .anyone have any advice on items not covered in the instructions ? my stock pump has 11 psi at idle and since i have seen all the horror stories in the forums i decided to fork out some cash and do it. is the line from the pump to the fuel filter larger than stock , if so should the line from the filter to the vp44 be increased also ? thanks for any advice

**** ^^DELAY^^*****I have figured out that the FASS DDRP is causing the hard starts with my truck (01 QCSB Auto). Now i have been searching all day for moparman's diagram to wire into a power on circut to no avail. I tried splicing in an add-a-circut by cutting the green wire going to the DDRP itself to the wiper relay and that seemed to work until the truck started sputtering going down the road so i figure i did it wrong. Do i need to splice the red wire going to the ddrp? so frustrated.... thanks in advance

Some folk's are saying that this pump is fine for a stock motor, and some are saying it is only good for target practice or an expensive paper weight. It is my understanding that it comes with two different springs (to adjust for more pressure if desired) , that it is a relatively easy install in the oem position, and that it is an option to install it down on the frame close to the tank with the required relocation kit. It comes with a four year warranty from the same folks that make the higher end FASS systems. So, for a stock motor, why not use this pump? Thank's for your time and attention............Hood Latch

Has anyone put one of the Fass electric heater kits in an Airdog FP-100? It looks like it will screw in next to the supply line from the tank above the water separator. With my Airdog exposed under the truck, even with anti-gel additive, it will gel up driving down the road. It was -17 this morning and I made it about 1.5 miles to the store fine. I left it running and ran in for 3-4 minutes and when I got back in it started loping real bad and I noticed the fuel pressure was Zero. I shut it down, then limped it around to the back of the building out of the way so I could deal with it after it warmed up some. I finally got the fuel flowing about 2:00 PM and got it home…

  16. Hey guys this summer I was very proud of myself and found a 2 micron fass 150 fuel filter from my NAPA store! Little did I know it was the wrong filter I put the 2 micron for the water separator! Well in the last few days here in Minnesota it has been dropping into the low 20's and when I have been starting my truck in the morning it would run for a minute and blow the 30 amp fuse that runs the pump:shrug: So what I finally found out after calling Fass a couple of times is that my filter was drawing fuel to hard through that fine of filter, so I spun on a 14 micron Napa #3405 and hopefully all my problems are gone!

  17. Afternoon guys. As some may know I’ve had some issues with how well my truck has been running lately. It has been idling a bit choppy and an occasional miss nothing crazy but noticeable. we work on a few 24 valves at work and if never figured out why they run better than my truck does. I have been blaming it on low pop pressures with my fairly new DAP 75hp injectors but I’m thinking otherwise since a discussion with felllow employees at the shop. They mentioned that 8 out of 10 Fass fuel systems they have seen are actually making more air in the fuel system than they are separating. They are pumping far more fuel than the truck ever uses and returning it to the tank at a …

Has anyone installed one of these? Will this actually prevent gelling say at deep negative temps? My fuel froze last year at -30 even with fuel treatment. At those temps isn't there the chance that the fuel would gel before the lift pump? I would install if it would actually prevent the gelling, but I figure there is a point below freezing where it will not matter.

I’m finally getting around to installing a FASS Titanium unit (that has been on a shelf for quite a few months) on my 2001 manual transmission 4x4. This pickup still has block mounted lift pump. I’ve disconnected electrical plug from the factory lift pump . Where should I put the fuel line from new pump? Inlet of preexisting block mounted filter or inlet side of injection pump. FASS instructions say directly to injection pump. I had some previous advice that said to connect it to inlet side of filter housing. What are the advantages and or disadvantages of either? TIA . I just finished installing the quadzilla this evening and man am i happy with that choice. Brought the ole dually back to life and then some. I’m planning on installing my new Fass 95 signature series at some point this weekend. My truck has the pump on the block, per the instructions from Fass my fuel suction will be utilizing the factory setup. Now I’ve read about 1/4 tank issues and updating to a better draw straw..but what if I never run my fuel that low..do I still need to make this upgrade? Or am gonna need to go a different route?
