I installed a big line kit last night. Now i have 3/8 line from original hard fuel line to relocated lift pump (raptor frrp) then 1/2 line to original fuel filter canister, then 1/2 to ip. The pressures look better 17 idle, 15-16 cruising, 12 WOT. Truck ran good this morning for a 30 mile trip. The problem is that the idle is a little rough now. Never like it is going to shut off, more like a hiccup. Did the same thing last night after I started it. I thought maybe some air still in the fuel line???? It did not do this before the relocation install. Any ideas? 2002 ram 2500 5.9 cummins

So I got the billet convertor, BHAF, muffler delete and D-box all installed. Truck is working awesome but I want to change out the injectors as I believe they are still the originals and have 440,000kms on them. I keep seeing RV275 listed, are those a 275 horse injectors or 40 over stock? I was thinking of getting injectors from Pensacola off Ebay but read some bad feedback on them on this site and others. So I think I will go with some DAP injectors but I'm not sure which ones I should get. I will eventually get a real programmer that taps the pump, but will probably not change out the stock HY turbo. Are the lower HP injectors worth it or should I just go bigger t…

I received my repaired ECM back from Autocomputer Specialist with a note not to hook it back up until a find the short to ground. I started looking at known problem areas. Once I got around to testing the DTC P0382: INTAKE AIR HEATER RELAY #2 CONTROL CIRCUIT I hit a snag. From instruction item 3 " If resistance is 1000 ohms or greater, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/Black wire between ECM and intake air heater relay No. 2." On my sweep Ohm meter set to the 10X scale I am reading 17 or 170 ohms. Without tearing all the wrapping off the wiring harness and looking for a short to ground does anyone have any …

What's the best way to clean the puke bottle overflow out of the radiator? I have a power washer, but not a steam cleaner. I realize it needs to be taken off the vehicle for access.

  5. I have a few left over parts from the fuel tank area after a “mechanic fixed ” my fuel system. Maybe I should just throw the parts in the garbage? but then again maybe someday might come in handy for me or for somebody else. Fuel module… The straw was actually the thing creating tension to keep it expanded inside the tank. Vulcan Diesel tried to fix and drilled out basket. Didn’t work so well, so I bought a new one. I was going to install some springs to create tension. ***Question…How much tension do you think is good? Maybe 3 pounds, 5 pounds? FASS drawstraw… Where the plastic pipe slides onto the nipple inside of tank is suc…

First time posting but love this site. I have a 99 Dodge Cummins. Roughly 160,000. This issue started roughly 6 months ago. The truck runs great until a warm restart. Then in bucks and surges a bit when I hit the throttle and eventually goes into limp mode. It has never done it on a cold start. I can put money down I can start it in the morning and it will be fine. I’ll drive to town with no issues. If I shut it off go into a store and come out it bucks and surges then goes to limp mode. It results in a p0606 code. So when it first did it I changed the APPs out to a Timbo apps. I have also changed the MAP and IAT. I sent the ECM off to get repaired. Oddly enou…

  7. Mike, This is my friends truck that I'm checking out now, he had posted this comment on another forum. (see below).I have a 2002 Dodge ram 2500 diesel that I am pulling a map and iat sensor code on. My mechanic thinks it is the ECM but is not sure. I only have about 1/4 of the pedal and then nothing happens after that. If anyone has had this problem and could help me I would appreciate it. Thanks Mike, I'll have to post this in a series since it has a bunch of info on it.Mike, all this took place before I actually had a chance to do any of the diagnostic testing listed below. This is what happened before I got my hands on this truck. Every one who or where he has drove th…

I have a weird problem. I have lost about 10psi of boost, usually around 35psi now im only seeing 25-27psi.... the weird thing is there is less smoke. I dont know what is going on. My lower left IC boot had a small hole in it (not all the way through) i filled it with silicone a while back, i have checked the Edge to MAP connection and its all good. Any ideas what could be going on? The boost seems to be higher in the morning and evenings when the air is cooler.... mid day on level 6 feels and looks like level 4....????Thanks in advance!

Today i swapped my hy35 for a hx35. With the hy i was getting 27-28 psi max boost. After the hx35 swap I'm barely hitting 20 psi. I have a restricted boost fitting in it. No other changes were made to the truck. Does this seem about right or does the boost sound low? Ran out of time for any other checks today.

Iremoved the turbo and can't find any Oil or anything wrong, shaft is extremely tight and blades look great.. COULD THIS STILL BE COMMING FROM THE TURBO SEAL & BECAUSE OF PRESSURE IT IS CONDENCING AT THE INLET OF THE AIR CHARGE UNIT????

I have a weeping connection where my needle valve goes into a Tee. Is there something I can put on the treads to seal that? It is just enough that if it sits for anytime I have to bump the starter to prime the system? I have tightened it down as much as I'd like, anymore and something will give.

I tell ya, the thinking stuff pours in every now and then. So here is my latest thought! We all are aware of the high idle mod and moparmans IAT sensor mod that helps MPG's. BUT, what about a way to modify the whatever (ECM, PCM, etc.) to allow the engine to only inject fuel in the cylinders on demand? Some have the 3cylinder high idle, and that helps in warmups. But what if there is a way to allow the engine to only run on 3 cylinders or less or any amount desired to cut down on fuel and raise MPG's? Surely someone around here is smart enough to know whether or not it can be done? Some of the newer vehicles do the same thing. They run on 3-4 until a certain speed or thrott…

Ok i have the vulcan kit to take the intank pump out. I cut the line below the t and hooked the return to the output side as the instructions said. BUT my fuel pressure is to high. I unhook the return and it is fine is there a check valve in that t that will block fuel from returning to the tank. vulcan said cut the hose on top of the t . Any none else had this problem, If i do this will the return fuel still fill the canister. Wrong forum this is a 01 3500 if some one can move it

So 2 days after a long road trip I noticed a new noise that sounds like its coming out of the exhaust. Between about 1100-1200rpm I get a loud tick/tat that I can clearly hear over my exhaust. It happens in all gears and only really makes the noise when I'm on the throttle, can't hear anything at idle. My only thought is my exhaust valves are out of adjustment going to adjust then tomorrow to see if it fixes it, but not sure:shrug: Any thoughts please let me know.

So guys, I developed lock up issues Friday morning. My truck was going subtle in and out. Ironically at the exact same time my trans developed shifting issues. Currently it is holding 1st gear to 2,500 rpm, and shifting between 45-55, and I also have the unlock and lock up problems as well. I traced an issues with a loose positive battery terminal and the grid heaters. Today I tested my vac, and I had .027-.033 at the batteries. And .04-.065 with the grids during away. After fixing the terminal using threaded rod and some nuts, the grid heater drop is now 12.15v instead of 10.15v. However, after the repair my alternator now is pushing .09 and the ba…

So I'm running winter fronts in my grill. When moving my temp is at 190 sometimes a few degrees more. But when I stop say at a light the Temps quickly drop to the low 180s. I would think they would stay at 190. I'm thinking the fan is kicking in and cooling things down. So what good is it to have the winter fronts.

  17. I have two 1/8th pipe fittings in top of my fuel filter one is towards the side and one is closer to the center. I am guessing you want the fuel pressure that has just passed through the filter correct? If anyone has pictures please post so I don't mess this one up. Thanks CD
