Any nv4500 gerus on here i have some questions

  2. Thanks for the diagram on the lift pump kill relay for the hot hard start Michael! That's just what I was looking for! I'm assuming you're just using a normal, 12 volt relay? -Pin 85 on the relay you're just tapping into the starter solenoid wire?-Pin 86 on the relay is just to ground?-Pin 30 on the relay is the positive wire that would be going into the stock plug on the stock lift pump if I was using the stock pump?

I've got 1765 0743 0382 for codes. I looked them up but reading through the write-ups it really goes over my head! Could someone help me know where to start with pinpointing my problem? The reason I checked for codes is when I'm using my exhaust brake the TC always lockup in second. Sometimes does, sometimes doesn't. On the times that it doesn't lock I can force lockup with my mystery switch.

This morning before work, it had been a few days since driving the truck. I go to start it, and it's dead! Had to quick charge it and get going on the road with about 70 percent charge. Get home and go to top the batteries off and check voltages. The terminals are getting corrosion. I just recently cleaned the terminals and re sprayed them. This happened in the duration of time from today. I can see how having the alternator do the Charging could cause am excess of venting from the battery? I checked every cells specific gravity and one Had a different value than the other battery but not by much. I can't remember by how much since I did it when I cleaned the te…

  5. How trust worthy are these things? I found a 01 eng. with 48k miles for 5k shipped what you think? My plan is to buy another eng. and rebuild my eng. a little at a time. Maybe find another truck at some point that needs a eng.

How exactly does the quadzilla adrenaline read boost and what should my boost be? The app on my phones reading like 19 max. I’m not hearing any boost leaks though.

If my truck sits for a couple days I get surging and erratic idle when I first start it. Fass seems to show the proper fuel pressure? Leaking injectors?

I was curious on the opinions here on the use of seafoam to flush the oil system before an oil change. I have used the product before on gas engines with decent results. With a diesel engine being a more "dirty" engine and reading about possible valve and lifter bores becoming varnished with burnt oil on top of not knowing the exact history of my engine I was considering dumping a can in the motor oil and letting it do its thing to clean the oil system. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hey guys, I have 50 hp injectors and the quad installed but not wire tapped because the transmission has not been upgraded yet. I've been running the quad on level 2 most of the time with occasional level 3. I have never seen the boost on the quadzilla app go above 22 psi and am showing 1 psi at 55 mph. I did a leak check and found a couple of small leaks at the lower boots which i tightened. Seat of the pants says the truck is putting out more power but the MAP reading seems low to me. I do not have a boost gage on the truck to compare with the quadzilla reading. My question: Is the boost readings that I am getting fo…

Man, pull a 14k pound trailer and it'll help remind you of what you need to do. Recently, I have not been as diligent on my maintenance as I should have been. Dunno if this is something by happenstance or a related issue. This only occurs after the truck sits for a while. The truck cranks just fine, but right at initial idle, I get a stutter then after a couple seconds goes away. I'm thinking I may be suffering from a leaky banjo tee? At the least getting air in the fuel lines somewhere. Thoughts? Just seems ironic this happens after pulling my trailer. I was keeping an eye on egts and never saw it go more than 1200 momentarily. I did at one point for …

First, and foremost, I was inspired to perform this modification by @Mace (a new member with lots of knowledge) who provided the idea - I never would have thought to do it on my own. I also want to thank him for providing the "how to do it " information as well as a list of parts. Well, I am finished, but I didn't do it the way Mace from Kamloops did it and in no way is my modification any better that what Mace did - in fact, some may prefer his modification over mine. After much of going this way and then that way and then repeating myself, I just finally came to a stand still. So, I stopped working and started thinking about what I really wa…

  12. Too good to be true, the truck was running good, not overheating. Last night, I saw a puddle, maybe an oil leak. I checked and after running, it is leaking a mixture of oil and antifreeze by the front case, above the oil pan. It's lost a quart, it runs fine, but the killer dowel pin is a possibility. 2001 shouldn't have a killer dowel pin? Has anyone heard of this, and is the likely source the water pump? The engine runs, so the engine seems okay. Thoughts? And thanks for the help.

I looked online found 3/4 7/8 silicon high temp you name it etc. can anyone help me out here thanks.

The time has come to change the transmission fluid. Need to know whether I should do the full or partial flush. In leaning towards full flush, but that's me. I'd like to put atf4 in with a full flush. Dunno how to go about a full flush though. Also, while the pan is dropped, doing the filter, thought about band adjustment and the Chevy solenoid. Don't remember the part number for it. What else should I or could I do while I'm servicing the transmission. I was going to do the block off for the passage to get 2nd gear lockup capability too.

  18. I've done the P1689 troubleshooting steps. I made it to the end of step #8. According to the steps, that means my ECM is bad. In keeping with the idea that "it's probably not the ECM," I've been trying to double-check the communication between the ECM and the VP44. I tried to put an oscilloscope on the VP44 today, to see if I could see the data. If I see the ECM's data, then it's the VP44 computer, not the ECM. I saw something that looked like PCM data, but I couldn't figure out how to set a stable trigger on it. I put channel #1 on the black & white wires (Pins 1 & 2), and put channel #2 on the green wire (Pin 8). Then I tried to tr…

Perform appropriate test procedure for stored DTCs in ECM. Perform TEST VER-2A . Mopar's Note's: This error code cannot exist by itself and will have other error codes present in the ECM and/or PCM you'll most likely require an OBDII scan tool to get the codes. P1693 is nothing more than a flag that is pointing to the other module stating there are errors. If the PCM has the P1693 code this only means that the error codes are on the ECM. Visa-Vera as well. If the ECM reports the …

"T" fitting in fuel line to pressure gauge is leaking. What's best to stop leak? Epoxy glue, thread locker, tephlon tape? This type of fitting in link.
