:l Stupid drive shaft... U joints shot, and the centering ball probably needs done too. Bought the ball kit at oh reallys yesterday. 50 smackers for a ball with needles in it. Wow... The boot on the joint looks toast too, so she do i get that from? Thinking i should return the ball kit and order online somewhere instead. A new drive shaft is 2x as much than replacing the parts myself. Thoughts?

Hey guys. I have a 99 Dodge 2500 quad cab 4X4 5 speed. I was having an ongoing issue with WTS light either being delayed or not coming on at all and LP not cycling so I replaced ECM with a known good one and replaced ECM wiring harness with a new one I found at Firsttruckparts. When I was troubleshooting LP not running( before I replaced ECM and harness) I pulled the fuel system relay and got a P1689 code and truck wouldn’t start. So now, after replacing those I still had code and no start. After a lot of troubleshooting and wire checking I figured out on the fuel system relay that I have 12 volts to pin 86 from ECM until I plug the relay in and then it drops to ab…

  3. I bought a Frantz bypass filter a good while back but have not installed it in part due to really crappy weather and in large part due to my frustration with finding what I feel is an adequate and maintenance friendly location to mount the filter and run the oil lines. I have read the write-up and looked at the pics of Mike's install. I may end up doing it this way in the end but I wanted to get as many pictures of how the filter mounting installation is done before I make my decision. I want to keep it simple and drill as few holes and cut as little as possible and hopefully not at all. I would appreciate it if you guys who have the Frantz filter installed show me…

Has anyone ever ran Prist for a antigel??? My truck gelled up over the last blizzard that we had here in souteast kansas and after 24 hours of letting it sit with some 911 in the tank it finally started. Just wondering if there is a better antigel out there or maybe even a fuel tank heater.

  5. I've had my truck for 6 years now and towed tons with it very reliably. I'm not chasing big hp, just reliable, usable, and SAFE hp. I've got some ideas but would like to hear from folks who know more than me.Thanks for any and all advice.

I plan to install my new injectors soon and was wondering if that would be a good time to install head studs. Can a guy loosen all 26 bolts, then install the studs 'finger tight' one at a time without worrying about the head shifting or otherwise affecting the head gasket? Or, is it recommended to completely remove the cylinder head and install new gasket when installing studs?

  7. I am not one to normally post problems, due to i have not found many things that have not already been discussed. I have 2002 ram 2500 auto, 4x4, 24v, sport that has some major things going on with the modules, and can bus signal. I am getting readings from +3.5-4 volts -3.5-4volts. ref should be 5 volts overall limit. The injection pump has been tested standalone( cummins module) we have scoped the obd2 port on canbus+ and can bus-. the ecm has been disconnected to verify a change in signal limits( no change), and we are still having problems with out of limits voltage readings. More info... It had a tst powermax 3 stacked with a ts mvp tuner. The truck has been returned…

  11. Cliff notes for Raptor 100 and Autometer fuel pressure sending unit and snubber install, just in case I screwed something up along the way I’ll thoroughly explain, main questions will be in bold font to make easier to read (I hope): FP Sender - Removed lines going in and out of filter housing (½” ID 35psi fuel/emissions hose from Goodyear, worm gear hose clamp attaches over male fittings). Removed old fp sender which was smutted into filter drain valve and fitting. Reinstalled fitting with additional sealing washer (per Autometer) to index port at an angle away from drain tube, installed new sender and snubber. Bolted filter back into place and reattached hose from f…

So injectors are currently getting re-popped to 325 and I've been watching youtube vids and write up on injector swaps. Obviously everyone does it a little different but I want to make sure I get things straight for my particular situation. As far as I know I'll be pulling on stock injectors and I don't know if/when a valve lash adjustment was done. When swapping injectors do I need to remove the exhaust rocker arms? Most videos show them being removed and I'm wondering since I don't think these injectors have ever been out of the truck if that'd be a good idea in order to verify the torque spec on the rear injector hold down bolt? I want to make…

  13. For 99 owners, where did you tap for your fuel line to gauge. My filter housing doesn't have anything on bottom to tap into like Mike's does. All I have on filter housing is the inline from the lift pump and the out line to the IP, both are on top of the filter housing. Also there are 2 capped ports on top, sorry no pics right now. Is the out line to the IP where I would thread in my tapped banjo bolt for the fuel line. Also, is it okay to run braided line all the way to mech. gauge, don't want isolator. Plan on doing the needle valve setup. Will braided line go into the gauge, i.e. will it thread into the port on the gauge itself, or do I have to do the nylon tubing kit…

I've got to say Thank You to a member sending my his damaged ECM for study purpose. I know you'll come forward to acknowledge this. I figured for the sake of knowledge of the ECM why not document as much as I can for other to learn. I can say without a doubt the circuit board is mylar and securely glued to the aluminum case. It's a single sided solder setup but it double sided tracers. Has anyone else had trouble with their display showing black boxes where the letter or number should be: Mine does this intermittently. If I unplug it and plug it back in, the display returns to normal. Also, some of the time it doesn't connect automatically with the truck. The gauges show no data. I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to connect. Sometimes I have to do this more than once. Most of the time it works perfectly but these two problems are annoying. I emailed Linear Logic and they said to send it in for repair. I just want to make sure these aren't common glitches that aren't going to go away with repair. Not ba…

Hey all. I bought my truck as a theft recovery, and so all the battery wires were cut up. I replaced the wires, and also the serpentine belt this evening due to a failing damper. I fired it up and let it idle, everything looked fine, and then like 5 min of idling and I started smelling an almost burnt plastic smell. Was looking at the alternator and could see smoke, so I killed the engine. The alternator was extremely hot! It looked like some of the solder or whatever holds the copper wires together, started boiling. Looked like tar. I wasn’t sure if it was motor oil that got splashed onto the alternator. Not sure. B it the smell was definitely not oil, and it definitely …

Hello all... I was invited by Tyler to come hang out here. He said there was a great bunch of people here. Is this true??? ;-) Anyway.. Being such a newbie.. I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid. Hopefully I can explain this correctly. When I bought the truck about 6 weeks I could feel a little vibration in the steering wheel and both pedals. I attributed it to the motor and figured it was normal being a diesel. Well.. recently it seems to me to be a little more pronounced where it seems to be resonating thoughout the cab.. It happens at idle and driving any speed. It's a very fast vibration and it kind of gives a tingly feeling to my hands and foot. Does anyone know w…
