Hey guys, I bought a comp, and the previous user had it set up for his 01 with the 01 connectors on it. I guess this is the early version of the comp box because the new ones come with adapters for the 02 that use the 01 connectors, while the early ones did not. The 02 connectors were loose in the box. I cut the 01 connectors off and now need to attach the 02 connectors, but I'm having a problem. On top is the 01 connector, and on bottom is the 02 connector. As you can see, the 01 connector has 3 wires going to it from the lead, a green white and black (Or brown?) and the 02 connector only has 2 bare leads going to it. Anyone have any idea how the 02 conn…

Hello I am replacing my Vp44, I own a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 5 speed with the S.O. Isb 5.9 cummins. Is there any way that I can put a 17x (found only in the 6speeds) vp44 injection pump on the motor or do I have to find a 15x S.O injection pump And if I did put a 17x pump on the s.o. motor what could go wrong?

For some time now I have not been able to switch the Transfer case into N and therefore no 4l either. I have 2wd and 4h. This happened due to my dumbness. Last year when I swapped my tranny I caused this. I had the truck up on jack stands and the truck was idling and I was going between P R N D to make sure the tranny was working. Now I made the mistake of testing the transfer case with the wheels off the ground so even in P the rear wheels were moving slowly. once I kicked it out of N iin the transfer case It grinded but finally went into 4l. I then tried to go back to N in the Tcase and it grinded again and when into N. After that I put the rear of the…

Hey guys, I'd like to switch the axle ratio on my 02 3500 dually Dana 80 LSD Truck came from the factory with 3.54's but the previous owner changed it to 4.10's. I'd like to go back to 3.54's for better fuel econ and prefer to tow at highway speeds in 5th gear 1:1. By chance anyone have a set of decent used 3.54's? I'll need a 3.73 and lower LSD carrier too, since the carrier break for the 3.54's is 3.73 or lower. The LSD carrier for the 4.10's wont work with the 3.54's. Hoping someone out there has swapped out 3.54's and has the gears and 3.73 carrier laying around! Once I'm all setup I'll probably be looking…

Hi all, I am new to this forum but have posted on the cummins forum. I got a 98 24 valve with the hard start problem and need some help. The parts store charged me 17 dollars for the 11 dollar relay. I didn't get a socket with it, is it ok to attach the wires directly to the relay or do I need a socket. Can I just trace the yellow white wire back from the lift pump and cut it and attach to the relay. I have looked at the schematic that moparman provided. I see that pin 86 goes to ground and 85 ties in with the brown starter wire, can I trace the wire from the starter up and tie in anywhere? The yellow white wire must be cut and connected to pin 30 and 87a. Sorry to ask so…

I use my truck to tow my race car and you can imagine I need to spend some nights in a hotel or motel when traveling. It is getting to where thieves are stealing trucks and race rigs like they are going out of style. What is the best way to disable your truck so they can't steal it? I saw a video on Youtube where a guy took a fuel pump fuse, blew it up, then when parking his car would put the blown fuse in place of the good one. Would something like this work on our trucks without throwing a bunch of codes? Any ideas would be helpful.

There's something under the hood of my truck that doesn't like the heat. During spring I never had any problems, as it started to warm up symptoms got more frequent, and now that the temps are nearing 100° I can only drive for about an hour and the ecm shuts off. If I wait for about a half hour it will come back on again. The ignition system is working because my volt gauge works, and the truck turns over, but the fuel pump and my trans cooler fan that is also controlled by ecm power doesn't run. Any ideas where to start?

Must be the year of head gaskets, because mines leaking as well, but im trying to hold off a little longer so I can be without the truck for a time. But I'm not sure if I'm leaking from another spot in the front as well? There is a plug that is underneath the thermostat housing that seems to be wet, even after driving a while. I know it's leaking above it, but that evaporates during the drive, while from the plug down, it doesn't. I can't tell if there is coolant leaking from the waterpump as well. I wipe it clean, start the truck, and I can see coolant coming up around between the pump and block, but that could be trapped coolant that is coming up betwee…

Hey guys this summer I was very proud of myself and found a 2 micron fass 150 fuel filter from my NAPA store! Little did I know it was the wrong filter I put the 2 micron for the water separator! Well in the last few days here in Minnesota it has been dropping into the low 20's and when I have been starting my truck in the morning it would run for a minute and blow the 30 amp fuse that runs the pump:shrug: So what I finally found out after calling Fass a couple of times is that my filter was drawing fuel to hard through that fine of filter, so I spun on a 14 micron Napa #3405 and hopefully all my problems are gone!

Installation is complete of the Holley HP150 Fuel Pump. This was an upgrade from a Holley Black type fuel pump. Main advantage of this pump is that it's a gerotor style gear pump. Gerotor pumps are long lasting and smooth, quiet running. Holley blue is a vane pump. Gerotor gear set Compared to the vane style of blue / black pumps Comparison Old setup below; new setup above. So I was approached yesterday with a strange offer. A gentleman near my buddy's shop offered to trade me an 08 6.7 Mega cab for my truck. Straight up title for title. I thought he was full of it but today he did it again. So here I am asking myself really?? Are our trucks becoming that sought after? Talking to my buddy he says the guy is a builder, ie builds lots of cars from insurance yards to Craigslist. The truck has an H&S EGR delete and 4" exhaust with no cat. What do you think? I love my truck and all but

Ok- I'm about to embark on an oil cooler gasket replacement. Has anyone done it? Any tips? My search of the site has not given me any guidance, so I'll post whatever I learn in the process. if you know of any resources, please let me know. My oil cooler leaks coolant intermittently, mostly not at all bust occasionally a lot, enough to require a gallon or more of new fluid in a day or two. I found the cummins parts for $35 on ebay. I'd welcome any input...
