My truck is hard to start after sitting even for a short time. I have replaced the washers on the banjo fitting back of the head, the seals on the T fitting, and the fuel line to the tank. I just pressurized the tank with air there are no leaks I can find anywhere. It has new injectors and new crossover tube O rings.still has the same problem. No fuel in the oil. Any suggestions from the experts?

As title states, my tcase went crunch on the way to North Dakota for my new job. I'm assuming the way it locked up the innards are toast. I had to disconnect both drive shafts to move it. As of now, the truck is going to be put into hibernation until I figure out what's going to happen next. That depends on whether or not I can get a decent case for cheap enough. I've also considered adapting it to run an np205, and hopefully not have to worry again. But I really don't want to have to get new yokes and drivelines. What do you all suggest? Who could rebuild it for a reasonable amount? Who sells gears and stuff besides all state? The truck has 4.11s…

How long can a New VP44 Be Stored without damage to internals??? I have a H.O Bluechip VP44 i didn't put 1,000 miles on, took it off and, plugged up ports after filling with a mixture of diesel and 2-stroke, stored it in box in my shop and its been there for bout 4-yrs maybe 5.... i had issues and thought it was VP. Ended up buying another Stock VP and it wasn't the issue after all RBURKS

  5. What up you guys! My rear end has been screaming at me ever since Ive owned my truck. I just ordered a master rebuild kit for my 99 auto 47RE with the dana/spicer 70. I'm trying to figure out what carrier clutches to order? the Kit did not come with the carrier clutches and I want to replace them. Reliability is the number one most important thing for me, but posi would be cool. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! If there has already been a write up on this Im sorry i could not find it. Thanks in advance

I’ve been noticing that my coolant temperature has been running higher than normal at high speeds (75-85 mph, 2500ish rpm). Around town and slower highways it runs around 185-195, but run the rpm up and coolant quickly rises to 210-215. It drops down to 185 only a few second after I drop the rpm. I also tested this in 2nd gear locked @ 40 mph/2600 rpm, temp quickly rises to 215 but will fall to 185 in 3rd or 4th gear. I don’t normally drive around at 2600 rpm, but with 4.10 gears and an 80 mph speed limit it gets close. I recently swapped out the thermostat with a new NAPA 190* because it was not getting to operating temp and I figured it was st…

I've had this truck for just under a year and done a lot of repairs that the previous owner just didn't bother to do, as in both front brakes siezed so 1 new caliper as I'd got it in the garage, 1 new piston, seal kit and a slider kit, back brakes checked and freed off, ctm changed due to door locks not working, window runners fixed, Cat fuel filter complete fitted as previous plank decided it didn't need a filter and threw the whole lot away, luckily he only did about 100 miles in it afterwards, it had about 9 months MOT on it and our MOTs are strict usually so I'm guessing a mate did it. Anyway truck runs nice now, still more to do but I'd been thinking and…

  11. Hey Everybody- Just checkin' back in, I haven't been posting but have been following from time to time, and wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I have learned so much from others on this site that has helped me out. A bit of an update on my "new" 2002 6 speed that I got in late July in SLC, and the Carter bit it on the way home. Good news is the VP didn't seem to suffer. Checked in with y'all, and got some good advice/ pointers. Got back home finally mid-Oct, with a pile of parts boxes waiting for me, and dug into it. Chose to tilt the bed instead of dropping the tank, and my little JD tractor made a great bed lift device. Had to re…

So I’ve been through the electrical and I’ve done the ground references and have thrown the 0216 code since I bought the truck but I got away with it for a long time by getting an air dog and improving the fuel to the pump (at mopar1973mans suggestion) and it went away for a yr or two but now I’m consistently getting the dead pedal again and throwing the code again I’m pretty sure the best way to fix it is replace the vp44 just really looking for mopar1973man to send me the info to buy one from the forum cuz I trust his opinion thx for ur time and anyone else who wasted their time reading this.. my truck is an 01 24v ho 6 sp stock injectors

  13. Can an oil pressure gauge be used for fuel pressure? I hooked it up to both test ports on filter housing with no readings. I cracked the line each time to get the air out and has fuel but get no readings. Can this not be done or am I doing something wrong. Thanks in advance I’m currently waiting on vulcans lift pump relocation kit and 3/8 fuel line from the pump to the housing and also to the vp44. It should be here tomorrow or the next day. I’ll be able to use the tee for the gauge then. I have an edge comp box, without tap, at the moment. Could this setup with a carter pump be enough to tap the pump possibly?

Ive got a 2000 3500 24v 47re dana 80 dually 3.55 2wd and im talking to pyle bros axle shop in houston about ugrading to 4.10 and he mentioned about getting the trutrac. Im just hauling the backhoe around town a little. Is the truetrac worth it for my use. I like the idea of improving the traction with 2wd. Ill be hauling the drump trailer also too. Ive read that heavy towing isnt good for the truetrac. What do yall think about that?

So the other week I installed one of Southbend's street dual discs, along with an upgraded input shaft and upgraded southbend hydros. I noticed that it was very hard to get into gear, and yes I have the pedal adjusted above the brake about 1"and I understand its a heavy dual disc. Figured it just needed to drive it a bit and put a couple miles on it. Long story short I needed to replace my transfer case tailshaft seal. Then when pulling my truck out of the garage I noticed that when trying to put it in reverse the truck was moving slightly backwards, telling me that the clutch is clearly dragging. My first attempt to solve this issue was to call Southbend thi…

Like the title says, my transmission is hard to shift. Real notchy, and sometimes a bastard to put into gear or reverse. It's rebuilt, and has maybe 400 miles on it. Running Lucas 50wt oil as recommended. But it just doesn't feel right. In another post I stated I had the clutch pedal adjusted way our to get rid of the slop of no bushing. The clutch seems to release ok, it doesn't crawl when in gear. But I worry it's something else. I will say when I put the transmission back in I fought to put it in the last tiny bit in the pilot bearing. Had to torque it down, but I did it as slowly and gently as I could, and the gap was less than half an inch when I started. Not sure if …

My truck is a 2001 2500 ram with the 24 valve. When I first start my truck up in the morning I can see the alternator kicking on and off back and forth. It gets down to about 10 volts and then goes back up to 14. It’s so bad I can watch my headlights dim and get brighter, I am wondering if this is normal operation or not? I also have a problem with my truck shutting off at idle out of nowhere, wondering if the injection pump is getting low voltage every now and then causing it to shut the truck off. Then the truck starts right back up no problem. I have done the AC noise mod and replaced the alternator about a month ago. If the pcm controls the alternator cut in/ cut out …

  19. Hi, I am looking for a flashing LED or similar alarm kit to install by my fuel pressure gauge to alert me that the feed pressure at the VP44 inlet is at or below 10 psi. I want this set point because that is what Cummins specify is the minimum required and everything I have read indicates that below that pressure I am damaging the VP44. So far all the alarms I have found listed for my truck activate at 5 psi or less, I emailed three suppliers, two haven't replied and the one who did admitted that although his alarm kit is listed for my truck the 5 psi setting is too low to be any real use to protect the VP44. Thanks.

  20. Truck has intermittent power steering, moaning and groaning. Going to start simple with fluid. Any last minute advice on fluid choice? I don’t have a jack to get the front wheels off of the ground, will get one if you guys tell me that is the only way. I have jack stands just no jack. Any and all help is appreciated.
