I have noticed recently that sometimes upon cold start my truck will idle at 900rpms instead of the usual 825 rpms. Iv also noticed that when accelerating I can seemingly feel dead spots in the pedal at times. Could my apps be going out? I can rev the truck and it will still idle high but when put in gear and driven and stopped it’s back to 825. Thoughts? Also I had a P0336 come up and replaced the crankshaft sensor with a Napa part and code went away along with the symptoms so that’s out of question.

Anyone have a suggestion for a pilot bushing rather than the needle bearing in my flywheel. Maybe a supplier. I have sworn off DAP. It looks like a weak design and I've seen pictures of input shafts chewed up after these have gone buggy.

Recently bought a 99 Cummins 4wd 5spd, my issue is the truck will get a “dead pedal” while driving. I can cycle the key “fast” or engage an disengage the clutch an regain fueling for 5-10miles and will get the 3 dings an lose the pedal again. From what I see the vp is a reman. I cleaned battery cables and replaced the tps and did a calibration with no fix. The previous owner installed a fass in hopes to fix the issue with no luck also. Truck starts every time no issues. Current codes are: p0216, p0122, p1693, p0222 and also have a code on body: module hardware fault.

Once again I found the check ball wedged back into the coils of the spring. I wanted to get a picture by the time I did get the camera the check ball fell out in it own and rolled across the shop floor before I could press the camera button. :banghead: So I got a bit more aggressive this time. I added a new twist to the spring I bent the very end of the spring into a L shape inwards so the tip holds the ball from starting into the coils. Time will tell...

Pictures will come later as they are buried in my phone but its really simple. As a disclaimer, use common sense, see what other things i've got done to my truck and take that into consideration before you do this. I am not responsible or liable for anything that happens. For what its worth i am working with a stock truck. No "real" mods or upgrades.. You will need- 1- Eye bolt (with 2 nuts and 1 washer) (i think 1/4 inch is what fits through the old wastegate holes) home depot for less than 5 bucks 1- extension spring from napa part# 7704099 (balkamp) about 2 or 3 dollars 1- 1/8 pipe plug to plug hole in turbo compressor housing lef…

  10. Anybody else run one of these? So, my two piece driveshaft has been squeaking a lot lately and after pricing out all the bushing, U joints, and then considering that I don't have access to a press, I decided to go one piece. The end cost was about 400 additional for the one piece, and it came with U joints. neato. I haven't driven it yet, but it looks nice. I know I probably could have done it cheaper, but oh well. Hopefully it runs smoothly. On a related note, finding the correct 241DHD tailshaft seal was a major difficulty. RockAuto sent me the wrong part. Autozone drove me all across the city (1 hr of driving to store to store) chasing the wrong part…

Ok all, as I may be in the market for another VP, what are the differences in the VP pumps? I have a 6 speed manual truck. Will any other pumps fit on this engine? I keep hearing that the automatic transmission pumps are different, then there is a SO and HO pump/engine. Truthfully am almost out of $$ to spend on this truck and hoping to find a used pump off of a wrecked truck, and need to know what would work and not. Thx, FT

Ok so I drove about 65 miles round trip yesterday with a buddy and had no issues except for a few times I thought the truck stuttered a little but nothing to cuase any worry. I was driving home on the back roads and the truck all the sudden started sputtering like crazy and would almost die. I quickly pulled off and killed the engine and pulled out my code scanner. I couldn't find any codes but there was a P230 in the freeze frame section which is Fuel Pump primary circuit. I towed the truck back to my house and pulled into the garage and pulled out my multimeter but the multimeter wouldn't work right. IS there any way to verify the lp took a dump without doing the testin…

  13. I purchased a set of 75 hp injectors the DDP-ISB75 I don't know how that relates to the tunning of the Quadzilla adrenalin. are they a 7.010 7.012 or something else? Any guidance would be appreciated as I am new to the tunning world.

I decided to rebuild my 2nd gen. I'd bought a rust free box and set of doors 2 years ago to be installed. That was all I planned on. Then last Feb I was on the DOR site. I ordered a few parts, extreme 3" lift, long arms, bolt in steering, steering brace, traction bars, Carli rear springs with axle flip and airbags, fox 2.5's coil overs up front, fox bump stops front and rear. I'd already collected and installed a few fueling and air upgrades, EJWA hot unlock, fass 95, Crazy Carl's tunnel ram intake, 3.5" intercooler piping, air horn, BHAF, Magnaflow stacks etc. Then I ordered a few more parts, II VP, Crazy Carl's twin kit with a 62/68/12 and a S475/96/1.10…

  15. I recently had Dead pedal problems. Also Wait to Start (wts) light is not coming on. Now I have no lift pump noise before starting truck. Or after bumping the starter. I changed the APPS and that fixed the dead pedal only. Now I tried hooking up programmer to check codes and the programmer won't load up with key on. After 20 seconds or so the odometer says NO BUS. So I'm 95% sure the ECM is shot. I bought a used ECM. Auto trans, same year. I have called 6 dealers, NOBODY has DRBIII software anymore to reprogram it to my vin. The software has all been updated to some new carp. So. Will my truck run and drive if I just swap ECM's? I've rea…

  16. My 98.5 cummins has been in the shop for 8 days now and each day reveals a new problem. Took her in after a few hard starts where there seemed to be a loss of prime. The day before the shop appointment the oil pressure gauge suddenly dropped, then went immediately back to normal. I was a mile from home so I decided to limp her home, the oil pressure dropped to zero and then jumped back to normal as I pulled away from the intersection stop. Acceleration seemed to keep the oil pressure in the normal range. Anyway, I ger her to the shop who seems to start throwing parts at the problems. They replaced the oil pressure sensor and said the injector connector pencil o-ring…

The other day I broke the handle off on my ATF dipstick and had to cover the fill tube with aluminum foil till a new stick comes in on Tuesday. Since covering the tube with a plastic bag then foil and zip tying so it's almost air tight and isn't going to fall off the transmission is shuttle shifting between 3rd and 3rd lock (OD off, around town driving under 50mph). Does the fill tube vent transmission pressure gas? And could this cause my shuttle shift? Or should I catch up on the lock/unlock topic?

So I recently acquired a Quad with V2. However I just finished installing an EGT probe for my Isspro gauge prior to getting the quad. I'd like to run pillar gauges since I have had them on the shelf. But also want the gauge to work with the quad. Can I install another probe either above the current one? Or install the second probe in the front half of the manifold?
