Hey guys, just want to make sure, all hoods from 94-02 trucks will be/fit any truck from that same year regardless or 1500/2500/3500 right? Im looking at getting a hood from a 2001 1500 and just wanted to make sure it'll fit my 99.

  2. Hello all, I just took my truck in to check the alignment and it seems I need new ball joints. The shop wants a pretty penny but I think i am up for the challenge myself. The only thing I am concern about is weather or not it has or needs adjustable/offset balljoints. From my understanding the only way to tell if you have them allready is to look at them, possible after you have already removed them. This is great if the town you live in has offset balljoints in stock! But as it so happens, I don't live in that town! All that is immediately available are standard ball joints. Could I just get the adjustables anyway and be good or vice versa? Any thoughts? Thanks Chris

I am tired of struggling to do repairs in that confined area between the front of the engine and the radiator shroud. I modified the top of my fan shroud and now the work area is very accessible - I should have done this a long time ago! The belt tensioner, water pump, and fan clutch are now very accessible, in fact I removed the belt and then the fan clutch assembly just so I could clean and inspect the fan blades. The work was very easy. I know that someone has probably already done this, but here are some photos anyway. I made the cut in a specific manner so there would not be any sharp corners when you reached into the work area. I used two zip ties…

  6. i see that my truck already has the connectors in the doors for power mirrors and the control switch on the drivers door. do I need to do anything other than get a mirror control switch and a set of power mirrors to do this? Would it be the same for heated also? Pulled back the ac/heat controller and the wires are plugged into a empty spot on the controller. Is there a need to put in a fuse in one of the empty spots on the fuse block inside the cab or is it all powered already. thanks

I Have a ABS and Brake light that has come on, It is showing two codes in the computer. #1. Code 82. Number of tone ring teeth out of range. and #2. Code 51. Rear insulator valve open. What does this all mean? What do they have to do with the ABS and BRAKE lights? speedo works too. what about checking the HCU for any wires melted due water running into the connector? Does anybody got a code list of all the codes?

You'd think I could remember after all these years but after all these years my forgetter is getting better! Some tires have a dot on them for mounting. The dot either goes at the valve stem or 180 deg. from it. The dot either shows the lightest or heaviest part of the tire but for the life of me I can't remember and I have 2 tires to put on my Kawasaki this week. Thanks for setting me straight.

I put in a seatbelt that goes in the seat itself and does not have the electrical connections on the recoil mechanism. Instead this one relays on the buckle holder to close the circuit(red and black wires coming out. Anyway, I always wear my seatbelt but since the truck thinks the circuit is open, I have a seatbelt light on the dash. After reviewing the wiring diagram, it looks like I can just connect the orange/red to the black/green to bypass the in seat module. Or connect the orange/black to the new red and the black to the black/green. Any thoughts on this?

A question maybe someone could help with. I have a 2000 ram 2500 24v Cummins when I tried to adjust the mirror it blew the fuse that controls the mirrors, radio, and cargo light. After the fuse blew I now have to manually turn the radio on and off and the cargo light will not turn off even when the truck is off. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I've got an 01 Cummins. Its started to do this thing while driving where the door-locks lock and unlock rapidly while driving. Looking into it apparently there was a service bulletin for the door lock cylinder switch, anti theft piece for replacement because water gets into them. Dodge dealer here says they are obsolete and can no longer get them, anyone know if I can just unplug them and bypass. I dont really care for the anti-theft just I'd like to have my power lock and keyless entry. On another note incase this isnt my issue anyone know what else could cause this. I've heard it could be the key fob battery but I've used two key fobs as well as changed the …

I just changed my heater core and I went ahead and changed the ac evaporator. I have leak somewhere in the ac symtem I haven't taken the time to find yet. I didn't use the ac at all this summer. Winter is coming so I figured I'd wait to spring to fix it. My question is will it hurt anything by leaving it empty with no freon while running the heater and defrost? I've heard that the ac might cycle on when the defost is on.

  19. hey guys. new here, first post. just got a new tekonsha P3 controller to tow our camper with, and this truck is new to me. I've gone over just about everything I could (I have FSM wiring diagrams of everything) and Its just not making sense, think Ive thought it over too many times. truck is a 2000 CTD 2500 - factory tow harness front to rear, factory hitch, factory 7 pin, and it all works fine. i have power everywhere that i should, except for the incab connector to hook up my brake controller. i've also checked the 40amp trailer tow fuse, and the fuse is good. this is where ive gotten confused, and am probably going to come off kinda dumb. theres no power at this fu…

Two similar questions figured I'd combine them. I've had this truck for almost a year now and in the process of fixing some minor and major things. First is the passenger side headlight has some play in it, enough that it can, at times, be noticeable when driving. The assembly itself has a threaded alignment pin on the back, see the attached picture for reference. When I wiggle it compared to the drivers side headlight, this appears to be where the play is. After removing the market light you can get a couple fingers back there and the driver side one appears to have some sort of retainer, a clip or something that hold this pin tight. Does this sound right? Since there is…
