My A/C, when left on after I cut the the truck off and restart it, sometimes resumes in the defrost mode and then after moving the truck, it will return to the normal mode for Max Air. It will not return to the Max Air mode by just rotating the dial. Please advise.

Anyone know if these style retaimers will work to hold the front plastic fender wells? My factory ones are similar except they are big plastic pop rivet type http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Push-Type-Retainer-11-16-Head-Dia-7-8-Length-p/a14753.htm

Hi guys, I put new tires on a year ago. A little after I did, I started hearing some rubbing during turning. I did not oversize the tiers. I went with the 265's that had been on there before. Well, today I finally saw where the rubbing sound must have been coming from. It is in the passenger front tire well. The rubber line that terminates at the hub. I'll post up pictures in a second. I'm going to have to replace the line. But I did nothing but put on new tires. I'm trying to figure out what is causing it to rub. I can't tell that the mount got turned or bent. Any ideas?

So, my '97 3500's airbag light is on. I assumed it was the clockspring, as that is a common issue that I've experienced in the past. I ordered a new one, and it arrived yesterday.Last night, I pulled the steering wheel. Low and behold, the clockspring was trashed..So, I replaced it with the new one.Started the truck up, AIRBAG light comes on, then goes out!!...Then came back on and stayed on.. :mad:Dagnabbit.. I need this fixed so I can get the truck inspected.. I printed off the wiring diagram, and the device components are pretty straight-forward:control moduleleft sensorright sensorclockspringdash lightIIRC, the airbag is 2ohm resistance.. Can anyone verify t…

I am positive beyond a doubt that I am not alone dealing with a broken up dash core frame from a wreck or break-in or the famous familiar quote I hate to hear “What Ever” , it explains everything. Something happened to cause your plastic Dash Frame Core Assembly to break. Age could be the biggest factor or a combination of age and all of the above. Hopefully somebody has done this and would share the how to results on the Forum. My 1998 12 valve Dash Frame Core Assembly is in pitiful shape. Cracked from door to door in several key places like the A/C controls that had screws or a screw in the bottom plate but the top plate was completely gone so the Bezel was holding…

Maybe this will save someone here some trouble. I have an A.R.E contractor cap on the truck and have never been able to get the third brake light to work without it flashing when a turn signal was turned on. I finally called a different dealer and the Tech knew exactly what I needed to know. In the main harness that feeds the tail of the truck, drivers side by the spare tire, there is a wire with a tag labeled "CHMSL" that is either white/orange or white/tan.

Have a friend with a short in his tail light circuit. I isolated it to be forward of the connector near frame under drivers feet. Lots of wires there. Where do i find a schematic? The wire is a 14 ga black. I cut it prior to the connector. Spliced the wire going to the rear to a long lead and temporarily ran it to the left headlamp circuit breaker. Wire going forward has a dead short. Overhead council and dash lights are also dead.

Hey Guys, You know how it is, those valve stems on the inside dual wheels are a b*&^% to reach. I've heard horror stories about guys putting long valve extenders on, just to have them eventually fail due to moving around from centrifugal force. Also heard of installing longer solid metal stems. Has anyone come up with the hot solution for this? I'm not opposed to setting up a hose that connects both wheels, something that doesn't throw the rear wheels out of balance. if there are any tried and true setups I would love to know. Another challenge is I'm running some nice stainless hub covers, and they cover all of the lug bolts an…

I have a mostly stock cummins. Only plan on upgrades that increase reliability and efficiency. Had my air filter off today and have been monitoring an oily buildup on the intake side of the turbo. I can now feel lateral movement on the turbo shaft. Figure I am needing a solution. Any reason to upgrade my turbo? Is a rebuild kit and self rebuild a feasible job for us backyard mechanics? Send it off for rebuild? Buy a rebuilt unit? I don't spend money on bling, so just looking for a cost effective yet long term solution.

I can't seem to figure this one out. I was having trouble with my brake light switch, got that replaced and working. Now i don't have high beams, cruise control, or day time running lights (Canadian). I have replaced the DRL module and have confirmed that my P/brake switch is working properly but can't think of where to go from here. I have followed the wiring schematics and still can't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My battery post are on the verge of breaking and trying to avoid the expense of new cables. If you do a search for these it comes up with like three connections on each terminal. If someone wouldnt mind checking these out? I tried to get a pic to post but I'm not good at that at all.

I recently pulled the bed off my truck to replace the brake line that runs between the tank and the frame. After I reinstalled the bed and connected the lights I have no tail lights, and my dash won't illuminate when I turn the head lights on. I do have brake lights, turn sigs. and back up lights. All the fuses seem to be good. Any suggestions? Thanks
