I have a reversable oil fluid pump with several size hoses and adapters or tubing for extracting fluids. Does anyone know if I could use suction on each brake bleed valve as an easy peasy way ? The calipers are very prone to sticking and I hate the way the heat will cook the bearing's grease away. It can get expensive in a hurry if you neglect the brake fluid changes on a regular basis.

Hi, I just bought a 2002 2500 and the wiring inside the cab in a mess. someone had a fancy alarm system. the door locks and windows quit working so I started tearing stuff apart and the wires to the doors and between the doors is hacked up like crazy. the plugs at the ends of the harnesses are cut off and missing, there's a bunch of after market with relays all over the place and I just want to put it back to stock. I am having a hard time finding replacement harnesses and I am also having a hard time finding any schematics. the truck has power door locks, windows and mirrors. I just need to be able to rewire so I need a schematic if there is one available. …

I just recently installed tow mirrors on my truck and wanted to share info I had found as I had pinched a few wires on my driver side mirror. The instructions with my tow mirrors didn’t even mention wiring. I thought I had them routed as optimal as possible but nope. Anyways, below are some pictures and a video of wire routing. These aren’t mine but it is how I routed mine after fixing my pinched wires.

  4. Looking to replace control arms on a couple old 2nd gens. I am curious to know what experiences you guys have had with different aftermarket control arms? Good / bad or any advice you think a guy should know while searching. The trucks are staying stock so no lifts no big tires still daily driven work trucks. My thinking is if i am going to replace them i might as well get something better then stock. Also one of the trucks the excentric hole is wallowed out a bit from being run lose at some point. Its probably not the best to expect it to adjust correctly anymore. That one is mostly why i think i could get away with adjustable control arms. Otherwise non adjustable ones …

For over 8 years, the 97 has had no air conditioning. I just rebuild it entirely with all new parts, including lines. Yesterday, I think I got the charge correct and managed to get ~25-30* vent temps on high with recirculate. It was 97 yesterday and and I measured 75* on the floor after 30 minutes. All of this is at idle, though I did rig up a fan on the condenser to bring the highs down from 250-275. Currently, my pressures are 30-35 and 200-225. Used a parallel flow micro tube condenser and an evap that had most of the foam seal around it. I also replaced all the foam in the air box and replaced the blower motor. The new (not reman) compressor is a Dens…

  7. Got around to the 30k mile interval so it was time to flush the brake fluid. Followed the procedure as per the FSM. I use an air powered tool that pulls the fluid through back from the master cylinder to flush. I couldn't help but notice that both rear brakes were producing air bubbles no matter how long I was running new fluid through them (rear passenger was more noticeable than rear driver). Both front brakes had zero air bubbles which is I why I'm a little confused! I did not get around to pulling the drums off to inspect for leaks, but is it safe to condemn the wheels cylinders being bad? I'm going to double check with tracing the brakes lines for the rear end b…

  8. So I have a 97 12 Valve, and my coolant temp gauge has been fluctuating bad. Idling it’ll sit at 180-190 and then when you get on the throttle it shoots to 230+ and let off the throttle it goes back to 180-190. I’ve replaced the thermostat, thinking maybe it’s the coolant temp sensor? How often do those go bad? Thinking about just running a new gauge to get a more accurate reading and by passing the factory wiring. If I was to do so could I install the probe into the sensor hole on the back of the block?? Or could I use the plug on the top of the thermostat housing??

  9. Hello, looking for help on where to pull my 12V ignition power from for my isspro gauges. I am planning on daisy chaining all 3 gauges together. It comes with a supplied 1 amp fuse, but would I need a larger fuse if daisy chaining all 3 gauges together? Or will the 1 amp fuse still suffice? I have read a lot of stuff and everybody seems to be doing it their own way, or different ways at least. My plan is to pull keyed power and run an in-line fuse. Thanks in advance for the help. Wiring is not something I am great at.

A friend of mine has a 76 Power Wagon. Think of the classic 70's idea of a off road truck.... massive roll bar, KC Daylighters, steel wheels with classic off road tread, home made bumpers that appear to be pipe filled with concrete...... the works I really like the look and strength of the bumpers and I happen to have about 600 feet of drill pipe. I have a warn 12k winch that I would like to fit in as well. I'm also thinking of a platform for ease of access to the hood. Any of you folks that have experienced these, pointers, issues you have had, pictures, or things to avoid? Ideas appreciated.

  11. Just a few questions: Who has made a screen to catch bugs behind the grill? I am getting alot of bugs stuck in the radiator and a/c coil behind the grill. If you have made one what did you use, and does it work well? Also, does anyone run a winter cover? I know it's not winter now but are they necessary in the winter? I'm in N.W. Ohio and the past couple winter's haven't been all that bad. Just want to be prepared if I would need it. One last question- My '01 is a basic model, no bells and whistles. It has the openings in the front bumper for factory fog lights but nothing in there. Just a large opening. Is there something I could place in there or i…

Its me again. Ive been restoring the front of the truck so I've run into a lot of questions My current problem (besides my headlights) is that my front bumper is sagging. I bought all new plastics and chrome bumper besides the brackets. My old bumper lined up fine, besides being a rusted mess. The passenger side of my new bumper sags and also it seems my bumper isn't seating all of the way back and not lining up with the fender. Any tips for this?

  13. Does anyone have any recommendations for reattactching the rear view mirror mount to the windshield? I just tried Permatex 84101 which is a 5 minute general epoxy and it did not work. Naturally, I made sure both surfaces were extremely clean and grease/oil free. Perhaps someone has had luck with another method/product. Thank You!

Man its been a weird month. Fuel gauge drops to empty comes back for a few days and quits for good. Find out the float wore out enough to slide all the way up the arm and let the arm sink to the bottom. Then had a ticking front on the passenger side come to find out passenger side wheel joint failed and the proceeded to break a clip and push the cap out will pull bushes out. About a month ago my cruise COAST button failed. I found a used switch on Maccari for $15 bucks, and installed it. Then last night figure I would play a bit on my performance tune and found out my wire tap isn't working (boost capped to 33 to 35 PSI). Most likely the tap screw loosen up a bit broke co…

So no matter what position I put my control knob in (face/feet/ defrost) air will blow out at my feet plus whatever else I put it on. I checked today and everything seems to be working as it should. Any tips or where to look first? Thanks y'all!

I've got an 01 Cummins. Its started to do this thing while driving where the door-locks lock and unlock rapidly while driving. Looking into it apparently there was a service bulletin for the door lock cylinder switch, anti theft piece for replacement because water gets into them. Dodge dealer here says they are obsolete and can no longer get them, anyone know if I can just unplug them and bypass. I dont really care for the anti-theft just I'd like to have my power lock and keyless entry. On another note incase this isnt my issue anyone know what else could cause this. I've heard it could be the key fob battery but I've used two key fobs as well as changed the …

  18. 416k miles and my fuel gauge wigged out and dropped to EMPTY and set the low fuel light. The part number is still valid and the total cost has gone up since the article. Now the price is $108 for a new float sender for the fuel tank same one as before but just extra $30. Fun is I'll pull the fuel line from the VP44 and just pump out the fuel tank into 5 gallon buckets. Just got to jumper the AirDog 150 relay and allow the pump to do its job. Oh yeah I pulled up the Juniper bush at the corner of my drive way. While having fun with this I managed to pop a wheel joint cap loose. Broke the cir-clip and the cap slide out. I'll most likely just order …

I recently bought dap's sport conversion harness. It was all plug and play but didn't come with any directions. Are the sockets light specific with these harnesses? It looks like it just splits the signal of the oe harness into 2 sockets, but my outer lights which are the 9007s are working as the high beams instead of the inner 9004s. Which bulb should be on the inner and outer because they both fit. Has anyone installed this harness before? Also all 4 lights are on all the time whether in hi or lo beam.

  20. after doing a head gasket job on my 1999 24v cummins i started my truck back up after getting everything back together, and i noticed there was a check engine light but didn’t think much of it. once i drove it i realized i had absolutely NO power and no throttle response after 1200 rpms. if i kept the pedal all the way down it would slowly get up to 2000rpms so that my auto trans would finally shift. after getting on a back road and giving her WOT i was able to get up to speed but it was a dog. i had no problems with my VP44 before hand. also, when we had the code reader plugged in while driving it said i was only giving 40% throttle while i had it WOT. i have zero boost …
