Hi All, Got in the truck to get the Christmas tree we are having our first good storm of the year in Northern CA. So we drove with no defrost and foggy windows. Reading the trouble shooting options the hoses are both Hot with the right being hotter, no hot air blowing anywhere If you turned off the fans and idled I did feel some heat but not enough to warm the cab. Looking at a trip to Seattle at Xmas time this isn't going to cut it. Is the Heater Treater still the hot ticket for this issue? Thanks Cold in the Central Valley!! Michael

Probably wondering why I mounted backup lights on my rear axle. Simple... I originally had mounted a set of driving lights on the back bumper. About a year later while I was out in the woods collecting fire wood I back up over a pile of rocks and crushed a light. Well in the near future I start thinking about new locations to mount the new lights. So after hunting around the truck for a spot that won't get hit. I found the rear axle. The light as guarded by the axle while you rolling forward and the are also guarded by the sway bar while backing up. Contact me for information on ordering a Backup light kit.

I am interested in a leveling kit to help my 2500 to clear larger tires and look level. I have a couple questions. I have found 2" steel leveling kits and nylon kits. Is steel the better option? The nylon claims it is better because it doesn't rust. Any long term effects from putting a leveling kit on? Any brands or specific products you would steer me towards or away from? Thanks!

Hi guys new here, mopar man I miss seeing you on CF! Im hoping to get a question answered that isn’t getting much traction on CF. I have a 98.5 24v a friend begged me to take off his hands as it’s pretty modified and a lot of poor work done to it. It’s ppumped, has an external voltage regulator wired up and every light on the truck inside and out quickly pulses, WTS light doesn’t come on, gauge cluster works intermittently, fass is wired to an always hot toggle switch, etc... Im swapping out the entire dash for one pulled out of a 99 1500 and I’m hoping to use the 99+ headlight/fog light switch and move the airbag selector up to the 99+ spot. …

Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed a couple of instances where the air coming out of my vents seems extremly restricted. There is a little bit of air coming through is not normal. As I move the fan speed switch I can here the blower motor speed up and slow down accordingly. The vent selection makes no difference as it will vent air where Ihave it selected. Cold or Hot, no difference there either. It didn't work all weekend, but when I got in this morning the air blew very strong?? I assume that the problem will come back. It has been cold and wet here, but nothing record breaking. Could this be a symptom of a bad blend door? Any feedback would be much…

  9. As most of you know I've just barely changed out my brake pads on my truck for the first time. I finally replaced my factory Mopar pads at 187K miles. Now a lot of you where shocked at the distance I got from my stock brakes. Well here is a short video of how I come to stops using the exhaust brake mostly. I used sub titles in the video to show what function is occuring. More videos to come! Ok... Here is another video of traveling down Goose Creek grade. Its a 7% grade with tight corners marked for 25 MPH. I travel up and down this grade all the time and never have to use the service brakes on the way down. But here is the video...

So if this is wrong section move please. I had a main brake line failure today, thankfully while teaching nephew manual transmission. he was standing on the brake and thankfully caused the fault which would have been very bad had i been at speed. it is the steel main line along driver frame rail leading to the rear brake valve. all rubber lines still look good but im gonna redo ALL brake lines steel and rubber to have a fresh system.

  12. OK Gang... I discovered something today... For all of you that have mechanical fuel pressure gauges that are direct plumbed can have even more safety now. I found that you can get 1/8" air brake line at NAPA for cheap. The nice part is that the air brake line is rated well above 150 PSI (which I hardly doubt a 15-20 PSI lift pump will blow) and it extremely flexable. So if you kink the line it doesn't break off like oil pressure gauge tubing. This is Polyon Air Brake line. My problem was where my old school big line kit has the tap in the line for gauge is in between the filter and VP44 so every time I would work on my truck I would flex line so much I break it off. Now I…

Hey everyone since it’s colder nowadays on my first crank there’s grinding, but if I try again it’s fine. I popped open the inspection cover and all the teeth seems to be perfectly fine. I just bought a new starter and took the old one out but it appears to be fairly new. Is it very common for starters to do this?

  14. Where I'm heading with this is my 2000 Accord has a button to turn ac on and off also it has a button for fresh and recycled air, which is very nice. I have full control over it. So I'm wondering if anyone put a button or a switch at least for ac, so when you have it on defrost in winter then ac compressor doesn't run and not only that heat is not the greatest like we all know it just would make sense to not have ac on. No I know when there is moisture ac helps defrost in that case you can always turn it on but for the most part I'd be leaving it off. And not sure on recycled/fresh air door if it could be put on a switch. I don't see why not for ether just haven't l…

  15. My bed has firewood in it, not much but my regular springs are a little weak and when I hit big divets in the road the suspension slams the overloads up into the rubber things that the overloads touch when being used, it sounds like the tailgate fell off when it does it. The plan/theory is that by ditching the overloads and replacing them with air bags that it will solve the issue. I could care less about anything fancy, I don't care if I have to get under the bed and air them up by hand. I hate those overloads and always have. Any ideas on where to get the bags and which ones to get? Cheaper the better but I'd rather it be cheap because I air them up by hand rather t…

I just had my heater core,ac evap, and dash top replaced. My old ac evap was leaking so that was the main reason for all the work. Before ac work my center vent air temp would get about 33-34 degrees. My temps now after the work is with fan on high and outside temp at 92* the center vent will not get lower than 47-48*. With fan on low it gets up to 50*. The ac doesnt cycle alot like when it was low on 134a but the low side line going to compressor is iced up with all fan speeds but high. I checked low side pressure and it runs around 25 psi with fan on medium and it will have ice all the way to compressor with center vent temps at 47*. What if any problems does this look l…

  20. Thinking the rear ABS speed sensor is also used for setting cruise, can't see it connected in wiring diagrams, must be in PCM, am I correct in thinking these are related problems?
