My ram 2500 hit a tree head on at about 35mph. Everyone is ok and now it's time to fix the truck. All of the damage is in the driver's side front end. I got the inner and outer finder off, removed the trashed condenser, trans cooler, intercooler, and radiator. I can now see the extent of damage. The drivers side frame rail is bent and as you can see in the picture the bend gets very close to the steering gear box. There are frame alignment shops around me but I'm worried that this may not be possible to be bent back and not have any negative impact on the steering as the steerimg gear box alingment may be thrown off. I probably won't know till I get it into a shop for sur…

Here are all of the components of the 2nd Gen A/C system, and what they all do. First is the compressor. The refrigerant is compressed making it even hotter, it becomes a high pressure high temperature vapor. http://www.mopar1973man.com//isx97/Truck%20Stuff/Ryan's%20Dodge/Under%20Hood/AC/IMG_1471.JPG After turning into a high pressure high temperature vapor, the refrigerant goes through the condenser. The condenser has ambient air running through it which cools off the superheated refrigerant, so much so that the refrigerant turns back into a liquid. Nevertheless, the refrigerant is still pretty hot and remains at high pressure. http://www.mopar…

I made the mistake of trading in my oem starter when it went out. Should have kept it and had it rebuilt. Got a life time autojunk starter. First one lasted 44000 miles, second 33000 and this one is going out at 18000. Are they really that bad or am I just that unlucky? I looked online at a place called larry b and my starter would be over 500 dollars shipped to me. What brand starter are people on here using and are they lasting a long time. The oem starter lasted 111000 miles. Thanks

This doesn't make sense to me does anyone have any idea why my fuel pressure was reading several psi lower in Denver and up in the mountains than here in Michigan. It's an electronic sending unit. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=42.474292,-84.887892

I bought a 1999 2500 / Cummins 5.9, Quad Cab, 8' bed recently with a few issues. I got the engine running and replaced all the brakes (Rotors & Pad up front, Drums, Shoes, & Wheel cyls in the back). The parking brake didn't work when I bought the truck and it still does not work. * I have checked and double checked both rear brakes for assembly errors and found none. * I performed the rear drum brake adjustment with the parking brake cable very loose * I have tried to follow the cable adjustment procedure in the 1998 & 2001 factory service manuals but they really don't make sense. The procedures are essentially the same in the two…

So as the story goes..... The past couple weeks I've been hearing and feeling with my superhero like senses as I attentively and constantly monitor my truck for any odd noises, vibrations, and clunks.....I thought I felt something. Very difficult to detect but definitely something is not right and the best way I can describe it is as a very lite thump transmitted through the front suspension when I hit a sharp small bump, like a road reflector bump. Other than that it rides glassy smooth. Luckily I live on some fairly low traveled rural roads because I've been driving the center and wrong lane quite a bit trying to identify where the irritating feel is coming from, …

Hi guys newbie here,My pyrometer gauge stopped working and through my check I found the wire I tapped according to diesel manor install instructions lost power. All fuses check out O.K. Everything appears to work also. But I'm concerned this wire does something somewhere and I don't want a problem.According to the wiring diagram in the manual I downloaded from this site the wire is black/red but the wire is clearly black and tan.Any help with this would be appreciated.I'll attach a picture from the install instruction.

http://forum.mopar1973man.com/showthread.php/1278-Switched-Grid-Heater?highlight=switch+grid+heater that is sweet and i was curious if anybody ever did try it on 2000-02 and if it threw the check engine light. i really have no need for the grid heater in my neck of the woods and my remote start system waits for the wait to start light to turn off so this modification might be right up my alley. thanks.

Alright, just recently got back from hunting and I did not notice anything until I got about an hour or so away from home. When I go to brake, the truck wants to pull hard to the right. I got to literally turn the wheel about a 1/4 turn to the left to keep straight.I'm wondering if maybe it is instead the left front caliper not grabbing?I've rebuilt the front calipers about 2 years ago, did new pads and rotors as well...

I have a 2002 Dodge 2500 that a couple of days ago started giving me trouble. When you go to start the truck after the "wait to start" light goes out you get nothing, no clicking noise or anything, just dead like the lights were left on and drained the batteries. Try and start it 3 or 4 times and bingo it starts up like nothing was ever wrong. The bad thing is it doesn't do it every time. Both batteries were new 3/14/08The truck has no codesI'm going to clean the battery and starter connections, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue before. Thanks Dwayne

I'm tearing down the '94 for my street rod project and don't want to throw something away that I need. Now I've never taken a modern vehicle down before and my repairs on them have been 95% plain old maintenance, but what are these items? thanks!

I have a story to share!Within a week of the day that I bought my truck, I had an accident.Nope not vehicle! It was my truck verses a shopping cart at Walmart! As the wife and I were leaving a Walmart store a shopping cart came out from between two cars and Pow hit my right rear fender.Well I was moving about 15 miles per hour and it was moving at a unknown speed. It broke my fender! -- split it --- split was almost the whole length of fender running up and down to the bottomI went imediatley to the manager and we took pictures. Then I went to a body shop and got an estimateThe price of the fender alone was like over a thousand dollars I gave the estimate to walmart.total b…

Back in October I went ahead and upgraded to the 4th gen tie rods and while I was at it I replaced the track bar, and everything was all peachy until I hit a bump and it dropped out the socket on the driver side and I could never get it to stay, so I returned it and got a Moog bar and I'm still having problems, in fact, it's worse with bump-steer and it's like driving a wet noodle down the road. If torqued them to spec, loctited them, and even stripped the nut on the frame side I tightened it so much, and here I still sit. If anyone has a solution, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Good evening folks! So for a good while now my air conditioner has not been blowing cold at all. Almost lukewarm. Most folks say it needs a Freon recharge which is available at my local parts house. My concern is that if it needs recharged to blow cold again does that not mean that it is leaking out somewhere? I would like a step by step guide to recharging and testing for leaks if y’all would be so kind. Thanks!

So I am attempting to get my parking brake to work and it seems like it is assembled wrong. It is a 2500 with a cummins, but the engine shouldn't matter. This is the splice for the front to the right rear cable this is the adjuster which seems to be wrong, I cannot see how ti can work this way. here is why I cannot see it work, it is attached to the right rear cable housing and seems to have no action... So it seems to me that the adjuster should be attached to the splice rather than to the cable housing, however, I am unsure as to what it really should look like. I would appreciate a pic of a good working cable and adjuster from a 2500. Thank …
