Isnt there a precision , non road crown , spec sheet for better tire wear, for a 2nd gen, '99 4x4 HD , stock hieght / no lift or other mods.... I have one piece HD tie rod I know Ive seen a better, more precise caster set up specs sheet than the "within spec" road slope spec sheet

  5. I cannot find in the article about the added wire(s) from battery to battery. It was in the last few paragraphs, but the article has been cut short and doesn't include the battery equalization cables we are to add between batteries. In a discussion with W-T yesterday they are very important. It is supposed to be in the archives if anyone knows.

  6. So, I replaced the track bar today. Not a bad job really. But once done I went for a ride and now the steering wheel is turned to the left. The center isn't up and down now but about half way between level and up and down. I've read that one can fix this by adjusting the drag link that runs from the pitman arm down? Or is this a total alignment issue? I'd rather just fix it here if possible. I don't know why this would have moved anything provided the specs of both old and new bars were the same. (Which obviously isn't the case). The bar I removed was a moog problem solver. Keep in mind the truck has a bit less than 160k on it. So I assume this would be the 3r…

So guys I have a question for all of you who had 265/75R16 tires from the factory that have upsized to 285/75R16 or 285/70R17. Who here knows or remembers how much the speedometer was off? How much was it off by?

So I just wrapped up for the day and figure to get said wrench in the morning. Head out Sunday morning not even thinking about it being easter Sunday and found most places closed the day. But did find HD open and bought their last 18mm wrench. Get back to the house and finish taking everything apart. Setthe old one out and grab the new one and set it under t…

  9. I'm able to buy the original CI-4 oil without any CJ-4 oil additives or lack of them for my 2 older diesels:thumbup2: :hyper:However, I don't like standing on a ladder holding a 5 gallon bucket over my engine with a giant funnel. It won't work. :doh:So what oil transfer pumps you guys got or use? Or better yet, what are some of the tricks you guys do with bulk containers?TIA

  10. I have a 2002 2500 and the last several months have had a puddle underneath the fuel tank. It appears to be coming from the top of the tank, either one of the connections on the sending unit or maybe the gasket that holds the sending unit on? Have had the top of the tank off before (pulled the bed) and at that time put the Vulcan 1/2 inch fuel line and draw-straw in the truck. Anyone ever had an issue with this sort of thing? After pulling the bed the last time, am thinking of just pulling the tank this time as the bed was not that easy but then I am working in the driveway.... Ideas or suggestions or anyone ever had this issue before? Thx, F…

Who makes the best aftermarket headlights for these trucks? I'm wanting housings that are designed for the regular halogen bulbs. I've read that the OEM housing are the best but really don't want to spend $400 on them. Sanding my current housings worked pretty good to brighten things up but the plastic is full of stress cracks which gives them a pretty crappy beam.

  12. It took some modification to the stock grille bracket to make it work, but the install was pretty painless. However, it took "tweaking" the top of my bumper and raising the hood latch to its maximum travel to make it fit. I have a set of sport lights awaiting some relays & diodes, and sooner or later I am going to get a new plate bumper made. It was a perfect night for photos, and I figured you guys would enjoy looking at my baby! (I am not sharing photos of the trucks flaws, but they are slowly being eradicated.) Next on my list is a new cupholder, new overhead light switches, and a functioning A/C Pump!

  15. A few weeks ago I ordered some 3.5mm headphone jacks to try and wire up an AUX input into my radio. I did see a write-up on here for the Infinity system, but not the cd/cassette Chrysler radio with the number p04704383ah on the top. Finally got the parts in today to start in on this. Spent a bit of time looking and didn't find anything in regards to this radio. You will need - Radio - Headphone jack with internal Switch - Soldering iron - Heat Shrink - 5 pieces of wire (3x6") (2x3") - Phillips Screw Driver - Multimeter - SuperGlue - Needle Nose - Small Flat head screw driver The headphone jacks I ordered have a left / Right / Ground / and a 2 pole s…

So im driving down the road with no heat and windows up. Its cool out but nice, all the sudden Im feeling air, I check the ac vents and air is blowing through them. I rotate the knobs to try and stop it and its constant air flow. What happen? I bought a new vacuum line 3 weeks ago, the line from the pump to the passenger side of dash. Its all of the sudden outside air blowing through the dash vents. This is really going to mess up the ac on a hot day.

Hey Guys I am new to the forum, and I am trying to learn all I can about taking care of my Dodge Ram CTD. I am not really much of a mechanic, but I am trying to expand my horizons with this truck. I was wondering if somebody can tell me the easiest way to change out my brake fluid. I just got this truck, and I really don't know when it was done last. I don't want to get air in the system and have to deal with that. Any recommendations on fluids and change intervals would be great. Thanks! Also I am looking for a hood to replace my damaged one.

  18. Has anyone tried adapting the 3rd/4th gen Mopar HD steering box to a 2nd gen?

  19. As most of you know I've just barely changed out my brake pads on my truck for the first time. I finally replaced my factory Mopar pads at 187K miles. Now a lot of you where shocked at the distance I got from my stock brakes. Well here is a short video of how I come to stops using the exhaust brake mostly. I used sub titles in the video to show what function is occuring. More videos to come! Ok... Here is another video of traveling down Goose Creek grade. Its a 7% grade with tight corners marked for 25 MPH. I travel up and down this grade all the time and never have to use the service brakes on the way down. But here is the video...
