Looking over my truck for annual inspection. With the wheels on the ground and a helper turning back and forth I can see the bushing moving a bit on the end where it connects to the axle. Seems to me a rubber bushing would give a bit but I've read any movement is bad.Other end has no play. Should I replace? If so what is needed to do a 3 gen bar on the truck in my sig.? Is it worth it, and what kit is available? Is kit bolt on and go or are there mods. to be made?

So after getting in my rig today at a local hardware shop I go to put it in reverse and back out. Once I was ready to put her in drive I went to hit the brakes for my gear shift and presto, stiff brake pedal. Damn near had to stand on the pedal to stop it. After some reading I found out that my 96 2500 2wd Cummins has a “vaccume” type brake system for power boost. Looking at the lines on the fire wall I noticed one was popped off and it seemed to fix the brakes. Now Ive recently also had the issue of “zero” in cab air control. It’s defrost vents all the time, looking at that line it seemed loose so I zip tied it, I noticed I may have a hose missing. I think this is where…

I'm in the process of replacing a leaky heater core. My A/C system has a slow leak, and I'm wondering whether or not to re-use my existing evaporator core. I'm curious if there would be any outward signs of it being leaky. Or would you folks just replace because you're in there anyway?

I replaced my ac low side valve core with this part # MT0064-4 from autozone. It leaks. Is there somewhere I can get the right replacement? I went to napa and the man went through a drawer full of them and came up with this one. It leaks too. I am sick of working on this a/c system. Have you ever heard of a piercing tool not working. I have one, can tap is not letting fluid out. I have a side can tap on the way, should be here tomorrow. Damdest thing I have ever seen!

The other day I was offered a 2in. leveling kit for an 04 3/4 dodge for helping my dads friend fix his truck, but I didn't know if it'd work or not. If I'm not mistaken, my 01 and the 3rd gens have the same front axle, steering, coils, and coil buckets correct? Couldn't really find anything on this topic elsewhere so like always, someone has to know here, thanks!

I'm just wondering if anyone else has issues with the blower fan being so loud on High that you can't hardly hear inside the cab. This is the second fan and it was good for a short time and now sounds like a jet engine. Is there a brand that works good and is quiet? Thanks

I found a part store manager that was really cool. He admitted that the new power steering pumps are not holding up good. Being all I was looking for is the reservoir seal he was nice enough to order a new pump and pull the seal off the pump and give it to me. Really cool guy. Now as for replacing that seal you can replace the seal without pulling the pump. I removed the 2 return lines and the pressure lines. Then there is two 18mm head bolts and then a 27mm fitting that your pressure hose screws into. Very carefully just bump the reservoir and it will slide off the pump. My seal was cooked hard. It broke instantly. I lightly greased the new seal and slipped i…

Found this. Is there any tricks other than the video? Do any of the clips or red clips thingys get ruined or need replacing after one removal or if you remove the bessel several different times will any of the clips or red holders get ruined and need to buy more or anything like that?? Notice in the vid the red clip holder to the right of the heater/AC knobs , it looks different. Is that one broken off? Once I get the Bessel off,,,, My speedo area has a lot of dust in there behind the clear plastic. Can the clear plastic be removed (screws) to clean all the dust out behind it and wash the clear plastic piece? …

Well today was amazing i had to stop real quick in the traffic circle this afternoon and blam_o there goes both rear cylinders.... Ordered all the parts new cables, springs cylinders drums and shoes. Only thing is which shoe goes forwards? Short or long? Reason im asking cause both drums were a p.i.t.a to get off, but i see short going forwards. Also i wasnt too impressed with the shop who last did them. They twisted my right front caliper hose causing failure. Said it wasnt their fault. So now i question their work. Kinda a 911. Would really like to not have to get a ride in in am.

Went out this morning to go eat and as soon as I backed out of the driveway, brakes started going away. Pulled back in and fluid was gushing out of the frame near the front of the fuel tank. Huge rust out in the hard line. Tried looking up this part in the lookup tool but couldn’t get it to work. Anyway, besides going to the Dodge dealer, what is the best way to replace this line? It attaches to the front distribution block just up under the master cylinder, the ties in to another block on the axle with a rubber line. Need to find a shop I guess with some long solid lines. 3/16” I think.

I received an email yesterday that said the Moog steering linkage I put on the 01 may be recalled. It covers many different brands manufactured by Federal-Mogul. https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=18E049000 Perhaps this should be posted in the 3rd and 4th gen sections.

I'm selling my 1998 12v Extended Cab Automatic. Mechanically it runs just like a stock 12v should. The first time I washed it I ended up with a different color coming through, it's called primer. Then I powered washed it and of course it made more of the primer color shine through. When I first got it the AFC box came out from Power Driven Diesel. I bought one with the gauge on it along with injectors and CVs. Still in the box in the closet. Is there any point putting them on to try and get a better price or just sell these parts separate? I can put a paint job on it for about $350 but it's not going to cover any or much body work (small places). Maybe just cleaned up rea…

Hey guys looking to put new steering links on the truck. Ever since I put the DOR track bar on my stock steering linkage has really shown its wear. It'll pop while turning and you can easily turn them by hand. Looking to upgrade to the 09 kit, will this one work? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0046NUOLM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Also would it be worth upgrading the steering stabilizer? Or will that even work?
