Am having a world of problems with the left hand outside rear view mirror. I shut the door and it moves and changes positions... then drive and hit a bump and yes, it changes positions again. Am getting tired of having to open the window every few minutes and reposition it so I can see. Evidently the guts inside are getting loose (just shy of 150,000 miles) and its not holding position. Anyone ever taken these apart and tightened them? This is the "towing mirror" version that lies flat or horizontal most of the time but can be rotated up 90 degrees for towing. Thx, Joe

What (besides my horrible leveling block, worn out shocks, 35" rock hard tires) is causing the interior squeaks that sound like a bird chirping? Seems like its on both sides of the cab, definitely more than one isolated location. any ideas?

So heres my problem. I just picked up a 2001 2500 last week. I don’t know a whole lot about this truck however it is not my first diesel. Use to have a 2004 powerbroke. I have no heat in the truck at all. The motor eventually warms up to the middle marker, takes about 35-45 mins. Even then once it has warmed up I have no heat coming from my vents. If I turn the heat on I get heat for about 3 seconds, then cold air. I live in Alberta and it’s -25c right now where I am so it makes for a long cold drive to work every morning and I would like to get this issue fixed, any ideas?

Ok, I have a 98.5 24v 5 speed gvrw of 10,500.00 and a 50' kaufman car hauler trailer, How do I know how much weight I can to with it? I plan on staying below 26000 lbs as its a heck of a lot harder to structure the business with that much weight plus I think its above what the truck can handle (possibly). I just worry that my truck is to small for this work but then again I see people toting cars around all the time in 1 ton dually diesels.. Do I have anything to worry about? Thanks.

Hi Guys, My 2002 truck still has the original batteries in it. While the weather is mild they are still giving good service - but coming up to winter I am not so sure this year. Those of you that have replaced your batteries, what did you use and how have they performed. I am considering going to Costco for the new batteries as I have had good results with their batteries on other vehicles and applications. Any info or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ok first off I get that NONE of you have a need for high steer arms with your fancy track bar and all. But I used a Dodge Dana 60 front in my Cummins swap project and unfortunately with the lift I ended up with, my drag link is ridiculously steep and the bump steer is totally undriveable. My question for you Dodge guys is do you think there is enough meat in the steering knuckle to drill and tap 4 holes for mounting a high steer arm? I know they make high steer arms for the ball joint 60's used in the Ford Super Duty but for obvious reasons no one makes one for the Dodge axles. I attached a picture in case anyone would like to have a look while they ponder. The white dots…

I recently had the parking brake hang up a little while leaving for work in the morning. I know the cable from the left rear wheel is in bad shape, outer casing is bunched up and looks to be the culprit. I would like to just replace both cables going to the rear wheels. They aren't very expensive on RA but there are so many I'm not entirely sure which ones to order. Am I going to have to measure the cables since there seems to be different lengths? There also seems to be a cut off, parts must have changed after 7/00. Mine was built 2/00 so I at least figured that part out. Truck should be in the sig but just in case it's a 2001 (man. Date of 2/00 ) ram 3500 quad ca…

Hopped in the truck to go hunting tonight cranked the blower up on high and just about crapped. This thing vibrated so bad I thought the dash was going to come apart.Everything sounds ok on the lower two speeds but when I put it on the third or fourth speeds I think I need safety glasses and a helmet.

I got all my 98-99HD parts on the way. Is there a way to add a steering dampiner to this setup? Is it needed? Please explain how and why.

I’m going to replace my factory cooler, it’s actually been a really good unit with no issues, but a lot of the fins are smashed in and I’d rather just replace it sooner than later. Does Mopar even offer the original unit anymore? I can’t find a PN for it. I’ve considered doing the Mishimoto as it claims to be a direct fit, but noticed @Dynamic offers the 3rd gen version on his website, but not the 2nd gen version. I assume he excluded the 2nd gen version for a reason.

Quick question for you electrical guys. I HATE the spade connectors that come with some electrical accessories. After time they tend to fall out or get loose ...... just seems ..meh What 2+3 wire connectors would you recommend to replace with - preferabbly quick connect but solder if required. Looked on amazon ...... but a bust. Looking for good quality.

I received an email yesterday that said the Moog steering linkage I put on the 01 may be recalled. It covers many different brands manufactured by Federal-Mogul. https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=18E049000 Perhaps this should be posted in the 3rd and 4th gen sections.

Well I search around the interwebs and looks like no one offers an after make underwear storage. Actually, du-ha states it makes one that fits 02-08 or something like that but that doesn't make sense given the generation changes. The other option is the OEM one, which seem nearly impossible to find. Well the 02 doesn't have the under seat storage but luckily, the 99 does. I briefly tried swapping but it seems like I'll have to swap the entire rear seat because the bracket for the storage bin is welded to the seat frame. Has anyone swapped one or added an OEM? I suppose fabbing up some brackets isn't completely out of the picture either.

Alright Mike, not trying to prove you wrong but I want to figure this out.You say cold IAT drop MPG big time on yours. You say Winter Fuel drops it.So why is it that running winter fuel with no winter front whatsoever at 25F ambient at 70mph, do I get the same 21mpg (actually 21.54mpg) that I get on a 100F day? I get consistent mileage all year, summer or winter fuel, rain snow sleet or hail. I know everyone here seems to have this "it's winter fuel, so it's ok to see 2mpg loss" but why am I not seeing this loss! I am thinking if I could figure this out, I could help you all not get a loss either.

So, I've stated before in another thread that I have experienced occasional death wobble. It's very annoying. If I hit a bump just right everything goes haywire Anyway, I got under the front end today while my son was turning g the steering wheel, there is some play within the steering gear box itself. Could this cause the wobbles? I know how to adjust the box, I'll get to that tomorrow. Just wondering if this could be the cause of my problems. I have replaced so far, both front shocks, left outer tie rod end. The rest of the tie rods seem to be tight, ball joints good to.
