I got the truck inspected last week. On Sunday, I replaced the track bar, due to a completely worn out TRE.This morning, I had it aligned. I requested that they max out the caster (4.0+). The tech said he would, and he tried. But, there's an issue with worn out bushings and eccentric bolts in the LCAs. The max he could get was ~ +3.0. I'll attach a pic of the print-out, shortly, as I forgot it in the truck. So I see where various places offer bushings, but I cannot find where to get replacement eccentric bolts, other than the dealer. Anyone have any suggestions as to how best to go about this, and options on the bolts? Should I press out/replace the bushings, or …

  3. Hello all! Back again and I am trying to get opinions on what brand ball joints to use. Was gonna try proforged, believe they have a good warranty although they are 60 bucks per... Also am scared for any ball joint I end up going with being loose in the knuckle due to it being 20 years old etc.. And I can't afford having the truck down at my friend's to pull one out and measure the diameter. Now for control arms, I've heard talk of getting adjustable so you can improve the geometry as best as possible. Currently I believe I have stockers as well as a leveling kit and I get creeks and noises when going over bumps. I was going to just replace the bu…

Ok I tried to down load the 02 schemeatic but I am missing a program to open RAR files with. what is rar and what program do I need to open it?As for the cruise It will not turn on, the light in the dash will not come on. I am not sure if the cruise light is supposed to self check but it doesn't illuminate at first key on like all the other cluster lights do. I put a new clock spring in today thinking that was the problem as my horn quit working as well but after taking the column trim off I found 3 broken wires which I fixed and replaced the clock spring anyhow. an now the cruise light still doen't turn on but the horn works again, I looked for a fuse for it in both fuse…

Hey all. So, truck runs on one battery due to previous owner making their own compounds in the garage and putting them in and deleting the battery. I'm wanting to get 2 fresh batteries and do everything back the right way (and sadly may buy all new cables for 300). I'm wandering if anyone has a diagram that will show every ground and wire I need coming off the passenger side battery? Also, is there some sort of isolator or something that may be removed? If not removed but disconnected, where would it be? Any suggestions are appreciated so I can get this done correctly! Haven't had issues starting her in 25 * with no grid heater or plug but I want the truck done right and …

Treated the truck to new front pads today. The one caliper was kind of sticky so I put 2 re-man calipers on as well. Got it all bled out and went for a test drive and it all works well. I swear I can feel less rolling resistance. Got back and checked things over and noticed fluid weeping from the one banjo bolt. Checked the other one and same thing. In 30 years of doing this I've never had this issue. I tightened them a little more but I just can't get the copper washers to seal. I'm considering putting the old ones back on. I'm confident everything was clean when it went back together. Anyone ever have this problem and have any ideas? I hope this won't be like getting in…

So I replaced my wheel bearing/hub assembly yesterday, I didn't put the heat shield/dust shield plate back on due to destroying it getting the hub off. My ABS wire was then able to rub on my rotor, not to my knowledge of course, and proceeded to cut the cable almost in half. Is there any way to fix the cable? I really don't want to buy another 270 dollar hub for a dagum cable.

So I have Mikes CCV mod on my truck and it seems to puke a few teaspoons of oil at least a few times a week. To go along with that I have no 4x4 functionality. I am going to go through ALL the vacuum lines tomorrow (5/32" correct?) I am going to replace them all, and reroute them much cleaner if possible to get them where they aren't constantly in the way. Here is question number 1, if I have a vacuum leak(s) could it contribute to some of the oil puking? IF NOT, I need to figure out a way to catch the oil before my wife throws me out of the house :-) we cannot have oil on the driveway. I get that excess blowby could be caused by a poor functioning vacuum system, I …

I bought another Howard gem rotovator last month from a friend of mine, he has a Chevy diesel long bed truck I asked him on the phone if he had anything to lift the rotovator onto my truck "yeah no problem" Turns out he's got a bed mounted hydraulic crane, lifts the rotovator easily Just bought a new one and waiting for it to turn up I'm thinking make a mounting that attaches to my 5th wheel rails so when I need it to be gone as in when I use my 5th wheel I just pull 4 pins and lift it off, this will depend on if the crane has enough reach to get over the side We'll see

My hood insulation is sagging badly especially in the area where my BHAF is going to be. Anyone got any ideas on how best to re-attach it? I was thinking maybe some type of glue, however, the heat might cause glue to melt. Any info will be appreciated.MOHOK

  14. Anybody know of any low fuel pressure light that lights up around 12 psi or little bit higher? I have an Airdog fuel pump. Already have an BD and Airdog low pressure light , but they light up when fuel pressure is much to low in my opinion. In process of installing a fuel pressure gauge but would also like light that goes off around 12 psi or little bit more. Thanks

This 98 I just picked up is missing the piece that I believe tightens the rear brakes when there is a trailer in tow. I think it’s a rod but I’m not sure. It will have a ball end on either end of it. Anybody know what its called?

My 99 3500 qc dually 4x4 looks a little tired on the front end, almost like she's sagging. What are my options here? A good set of Billsteins? In her previous life she pulled a gooseneck carrying a 60hp tractor every day. She seems awfully happy not to be dragging that thing around anymore. I sporadically pull heavy weight with her, 40 hp tractor, dump trailer, etc.
