2nd Generation Dodge Non-Powertrain

On a automatic the Back up light switch plug has three wires, violet/blk, brn/grn, and a black/? wire. Connect the violet/blk to the brn/grn and the back up lights go on..... What does the blk/? go to? Edit, Never mind,,,,, I found it in my service manual, the third wire is the ground for the starter solenoid circuit .

Power door locks My pass side stopped unlocking a couple years ago. It would lock,down. but not unlock,up just makes a noise, eeeegh I have never took the door panel off and to check it out. Then I saw power door lock mechanisms at Geno's for about $200 ,,,geeze ! So has any one repaired a power door lock or do they just phuck up and need replacing like all the other new modern electronic crap?

Dana 60 4x4...Moog problem solvers or oem Danas? The Danas are a little cheaper for one side, about $70 and Moogs are about $90. Any input as far as quality or longevity? Because this is lengthy and annoying job, I don't want to replace them again anytime soon. Thanks

Will wheels from a 2011 3500 dually fit on a 1999 3500 dually? Cant find anything on the web regarding this. I would be going from a 16” wheel to a 17” wheel.

Hey everyone! Brand to this site. Hoping to get some answers. So my cab heater is acting up, it will blow warm to hot air through the defrost and face vents but will blow cooler air through the floor or any mix setting. Sometimes I will hear a thud or something dropping on the passenger side dash. I have a new radiator, thermostat, water pump, blend door actuator coupler (heater treater). I'm wondering if this is a vacuum or door problem, maybe even a heater core problem. Also on defrost from the driver vent to the passenger its got great air flow to almost none, so thats also a concern. Thanks!

When I hit my brakes hard all my lights and radio and everything went out and came back as soon as I let off the pedal. Does this mean electriacal short?

Im gonna add a back up light probably one of those round 35w tractor type lights unless I find a similar style 55w Where can I get a relay and what kind should I get?... auto parts store? 3 prong? Evening Folks, I probably should have posted this up a couple of weeks ago, but it just occured to me. Im fixin to pull the HVAC box out & replace the heater core & AC core (& replace the dash & fix the EGT gauge), & figured while I had it all out I should check the vacuum pods under there. I saw from Mikes video that there is one directly on the HVAC box, but I dont know if there are other ones up under the dash (I would suspect there are as there is a bunch of vacuum lines connected together in the middle of the dash). How do you test them? apply X amount of vacuum & it should hold that for Y period of time? or is i…

im assuming these truck have a 4x4 light since the CAD on the front has a switch to activate the light. But I've looked all over the dash and never see a light on whenever it's in 4x4, It works fine also. I also know the switch works cause I needed to test something in my 95 1500 the other day. Can anyone take picture of there dash with the 4x4 light or tell me where is should be, I'm thinking the light is burnt out but no clue where it is. thanks!

Hey, so I'm new to the forum, so I'll apologize in advance if this post is a potential repeat...... I have a 2002 Ram 2500, and a while back it started blowing air only from the defrost and floor vents, nothing from the dash. I've located the issue, which is a plastic lever that connects the vent blending door to the actuator. The problem is that it's a discontinued part, and I'm struggling to locate one. Does anyone know where i can find OEM parts? Near as i can tell from the exploded HVAC drawings, the part number is #04720348.

I'm starting to do my headlight research. I know there is all kinds of technology out there for lighting. I'm willing to jump forward to the HID lighting as long as its a DOT and SAE certified kit. I know I've got to replace my stock light the lens are fogging over and I know there are better headlight reflectors out there than stock. So my question is HID, sport headlight conversion with halogens, etc. Let's see some links, products, and reviews.

I'm missing my front wheel cover for my 1999 3500 dually and can't seem to find one anywhere on the web. Sites are full of after market, one piece wheel cover and lug center cap, but no OEM replacement. One local stealership wants $500 and another $380! Anybody got any suggestions?

Going to two tone my truck. Current color is Patriot Blue. Had it painted a couple years ago, but it's one of those you get what you pay for deal. The guy that did it used cheaper quality materials and it shows. I'm keeping the Patriot Blue so I don't need to mess with the jams and such, but adding Dark spiral gray metallic (GMC color 805K). I thought put the gray on the bottom, but my new paint guy suggests the gray on top.

Hi, I'm looking for a single 1/2 Bulkhead fitting and some 1/2" corrugated fuel line. I had a 35 year old, dried up can of #7 heavy duty Rubbing Compound I used on a old cotton sock with a little water to hand buff my factory original head lights on my '99's oxidized and yellowed lenses No sanding with any wet or dry of various grits, No electric drill or elec buffer. no masking off the fender etc in-case the elec buffer went wild. Just the compound.and a piece of cotton sock and a few minutes of elbow grease Its pretty abrasive stuff so I never tried it before. It worked great, hand buffed maybe 3 minutes per side. Does anyone have any info about the pins on a 1998.5 OBD port and where the wires go. I.E. Where the chassis and signal ground go. Im trying to diagnose a faulty smarty cable or faulty obd/truck wiring. I have a 2002 ecu and a rebuilt 1998.5 ECU. I purchased a flash file from smarty to flash the 2002 to my 1998.5. IThe smarty would connect to the ECU while it was connected to the 2002 donor truck. IT wont on my truck. It wont connect to the 1998.5 or 2002 ecu while on my truck. I can hook my scan tool up to my truck and it will connect to both and read codes on both? SOOOOO I think something might be wrong with my obd port.

Need to drill 5/8" hole in top for bulkhead fitting and a 1/2" hole in the basket. I'm concerned about the basket since it's so thin. Is a Step-Drill best way? Also, I'm told the caps on the T-Bar just "snap" on/off IOT remove the check-valve. Either my fingers are weak or someone used glue. Any advise please? Thanks. Leaky

When I mash the key fob “lock” button on our 2001 , the doors lock, and no other lights go off. Wife that has a brain tumor has been telling me for some time that something is broken and the tail and front turn signals are supposed to light up also. I don’t remember lights going off when you hit the fob since we got it in 2005. Who’s memory is working better…mine or hers? Thanks

Replaced my head lights and now the bright indicator light stays on. Using the dimmer switch, I can see that the lights toggle from dim to bright. Had the batteries disconnected as well. Any ideas?

Hey guys sorry to bring this up again! I have searched and haven’t found answers to my questions! So I would like to upgrade my stock headlights. I have ruled out hids because of price and all. I think I would like to do the sport light upgrade. I need someone to post a link to lights they have bought and love!! I’m looking for smoked stockbstyle headlights but don’t have to have them.
