What do people commonly use to keep gauge in the hole of a "A" pillar? Black glue, black silicone caulking, liquid elec tape, etc? Thanks

I wanted to buy a new steering box and BD steering brace, started looking around truck, found cracked frame. This is what I get for messing with something that wasn't broke yet. I did a few searches on different sites haven't found much. So I started a thread. Have any Ideas? [*]

  4. So I got a call from my buddy who is doing all the frame and body work on my truck. He called me yesterday and told me that for some reason my truck doesn't have any power steering. In the accident I snapped the shaft off at the pitman arm so the box is brand new. The power steering pump/ vaccum pump is still original. My friend said he thinks I may have damaged the pump in the accident or the vaccum pump. He said he put fluid in the truck but its not moving any of it through the lines.any ideas as to what this could be? I ordered a new power steering pump and I was looking around for a vaccum pump but never found one. I see a lot of people selling rebuild kits. Is this a…

I had an issue with both of my quad cab doors wouldn't open using the inside door handles. I took the door panels off and found the cable that goes from the inside handle the the outside one was broke where in anchors in the door panel. Apologize for the crummy pictures but its the best my camera will do. Hopefully this will help somebody else out so they know what to look for.

Post up pics of the various little custom touches you've made to your truck. Interior stuff, exterior, etc. Looking for ideas on mine.

I may not explain this good but here goes. I need to test the alt for feed back, my apps or something is causing it to feel like its running out of fuel. It doesn't cut out hard, it has that running out of fuel feel to it. The more you mash the pedal no help its dead, let it all the way up then start back into it and it will either accelerate or you have to let it up again then it will run ok. It may run all day and never do it again or it has done it 1/2 dozen times. No codes, well it has a 1693 but nothing in there. I have put three diff. apps on and they all do the same. Fuel filters are clean, fuel pressure is 15. I just cant find the write up. Thanks

Replaced my head lights and now the bright indicator light stays on. Using the dimmer switch, I can see that the lights toggle from dim to bright. Had the batteries disconnected as well. Any ideas?

I decided to ditch the thermostatic switch on my auxiliary trans cooler with fan and wire a switch into the cab instead. I got cute and ordered a push button switch with a fan symbol and blue LED backlighting. Can anybody tell me (or draw on a napkin) the best best way to wire this to a relay? Should I be using a standard Bosch 5 pin relay or something different. The wires in the pic are as follows: Black-negative Green-closed White- normally open Blue- normally closed Red-positive

Ok so as I was driving tonight I turned on my headlights and a sec or two later all of a sudden my speedometer dropped and then the abs light came on then the fuel light and air bag and engine light. The mileage says "no bus" and the overhead console says "CCd" I do have HIDs but ive had them for almost a month now. First time im having this issue. Ive disconnected the batt and still nothing. The truck runs fine. FP is same and egts normal. No issues with driveability. Just the gauges dont show anything and the lights are displayed when driving or when just turn key to on position.

My "brake" light on the instrument cluster comes on from time to time. I never gave it much thought, because it was the only light illuminated. I figured it was the switch at the parking brake. Now...after reading the FSM, it appears this light can also be an indicator of a malfunction in the braking system. I did not know that. After reading, if there is a malfunction it is normally accompanied by a "ABS" indicator . Like I said, I don't have that, but it appears that is because that light doesn't work. I went out and turned the key to on and all of the indicator lights come on except the ABS light. The FSM says that this is a LED that is soldered to the boa…

I found this article here about the Aux input, but it has me a bit confused.... when I look @ these pictures, the radio that is being modified looks exactly like mine, so Im assuming that its the same one as the only other one I have seen is a single height radio, not like the one in the article above. Also the article mentions, " I did see a write-up on here for the Infinity system, but not the cd/cassette Chrysler radio". This has me confused. I have had the door panels off of my truck & it does have the infinity speakers in the doors with the Amps bolted to them. I assumed that this meant that the radio is also an infinity as we…

  14. Hey guys, a couple months ago I replaced my power steering system. Borgeson gear box, pump, shaft and hoses. Also installed a filter (yes it is flowing the correct direction). When I try to turn the wheels from a dead stop I can't turn the wheel either direction more than maybe a quarter turn before it locks up. As soon as I start moving it's like butter and while driving it's smooth. When I first bled the system I sucked air in and also ended up over filling the pump but now the fluid level is good and I re-bled the system so it shouldn't have any air in it. I just can't turn the wheel at a stop. Any ideas? The tires are only stock 265's so it's not like I'm trying to tu…

I have developed some wonder in my steering, so I was checking all the joints underneath, I have Luke’s links all the way around and they all seem to be tight and I noticed the track bar bushing has a lot of slop, I am sure I replaced that bushing ( it’s a rubber one) when I did the joints about 6 ago but maybe I should go with a poly one this time? Any one got any recommendations on them. I see a wide price range on them from about 17 dollars on amazon to about 50 dollars from the high end manufactures

im assuming these truck have a 4x4 light since the CAD on the front has a switch to activate the light. But I've looked all over the dash and never see a light on whenever it's in 4x4, It works fine also. I also know the switch works cause I needed to test something in my 95 1500 the other day. Can anyone take picture of there dash with the 4x4 light or tell me where is should be, I'm thinking the light is burnt out but no clue where it is. thanks!

Guys, Am still having problems with the heating and cooling in the cab of the truck. Driving home tonight it was getting a bit chilly here, in the mid 50's. Turned the heat control from full cold to mid-way up the scale. Nothing happened at all. Had the blower on fresh air. Turned it 3/4rd hot and still no change. Finally went full tilt hot and about 3-5 seconds later heard a vent door shut and immediately it got full hot.Ok, so we know that there is hot water in the heater core. Turned the temp control back to 1/2 scale and no change. Turned it back to full cold and no change, its still full tilt hot. After about 15 seconds it went from full hot to full cold outside air.…

On my previous thread, I listed various issues I was having with my steering system. Fast forward, now I have replaced all my components on the system. New ball joints, warrantied out the steering linkages. Replaced the steering box, not a red head though. I even have a steering box brace on order to just give it that much more help in ensuring it'll stay together longer. The last thing I have to tackle is my control arms. I started yesterday with the lower. Took one off and it was a BEAR! The caster cam bolt was seized and had to use a sawzall to cut it out. Then the hunt for replacements started. Sure wish I would have just ordered s…

Well Gang... My boost gauge finally gave up from all the rough washboarded roads anf the face screws fell out... http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1126 So I removed the gauge from the pillar pod. Then carefully using a small flat blade screwdriver I carefully pryed the black bezel ring crimp from the body. Becarel not to over bend the bezel or warp it. Once you remove the glass face you need to remove the 2 screws in the back near the nipple. Then carefully remove the guts. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1122 Now when you remove the guts make sure you don't squeeze the Bordon tube or any of the internal part or …
