  1. I've got to ask what lift pump do you have installed?
  2. Hit the nail on the head. Stock alternator is only 140 Amps. Even at that its possible ot overheat stock diodes with extended grid heater usage. Now increase the size of the alternator and you'll burn out the stock diode pack quicker. I've been hunting for oversized diodes for a long time that in the 180 amp realm. I've even called Nations and few other attempting to buy just the high current diodes from upgrade alternator to solve the AC noise issue. So far the best I could do is stock 140 Amp diode at least so people could rebuild there own alternators at a fraction of buying a chain store alternator that might fail.
  3. I still laugh at that video. Dragging an empty fuel tank. How about full offroad use of the truck with a full fuel tank? Hmmm... Now take that sump and have it installed in a 8,000 pound truck with 35 gallons of fuel (diesel is 6.1 pounds per gallon equal to 213 pounds) now drive over a tree stump or large rock. I promise you that sump will disappear. When I'm grossing over 20,000 pounds I'm sure that little 1 bolt sump will snap off. I should post picture of the dent in my rear passenger side floorboard from running over logs and other things.
  4. How about one of our vendors. https://www.dieselautopower.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=sealing+washers
  5. Blow by some times is worried about too much. Serious blow by you will have something like this... You might want to upload a copy of your tune and members here can discuss the settings with you. Just having the timing wrong or the fuel curve set up wrong can limit the power. Another member was using boost limits and that cutting the fuel by 70% on the top end. So poor set up of a tune could possibly limit your power.
  6. Did you try unhooking the lift pump just for test to see? The ECM has a way of controlling the lift pump by pulsing the power at 50% duty cycle off and on. This brings down the starting pressure of the lift pump to prevent the VP44 from over advancing the timing during cranking. Banjo bolt in the back of the head needs to have two fresh sealing washers installed too.
  7. Got a fuel pressure gauge? If not install one. What is your cranking fuel pressure during this no start condition? Typical cranking fuel pressure is 7 to 12 PSI. Pressures above this can create hard starting or no starting conditions. To test from another way is unplug the power from the lift during a no start condition and attempt to start the engine. If it starts then the fuel pressure during cranking is too high. Replace the sealing washers. This might be a source of an air leak.
  8. 1st Pump lasted 50k miles. Failed from low fuel pressure less than 8 PSI. P0216 Code. 2nd pump lasted 243k miles. Failed from pure wear. Stuck in full advancement. P0216 code. Currently at 346k miles.
  9. There is 4 ways to kill a VP44... 1. Low fuel pressure. Typically low fuel pressure problems caused the P0216 code. 2. Poor Filtration. I've seen several trucks with the stock filter can filled with dirt in the bottom and using junk filters. Too much debris usually got to the injection pump. 3. Low Lubricity. Bosch states that fuel should be 460 HFRR or less of optimal lifespan. When ULSD was released it raised the bar to 520 HFRR which is outside the realm of Bosch specs. Too many people used cetane booster and fuel injector cleaners that raised the HFRR score even more producing more wear. Hence the start of the "2 Cycle Oil Theory" years ago. 4. Excessive AC noise. This is problem that most are fighting for automatics with TQ Converter lockup issues. But they would band-aid with noise filter or some lame mod. The AC noise would eventually fry the PSG on the VP44. Typically toss P025x codes.
  10. One or the other... Can't do both. If you update to high amp alternator you cannot use our diode kit. Diode kit only fits the stock Denso alternators. Bosch alternator has solder in diodes. There is a few members here that opted for high amp alternators to hopefully get away from the issues. Unknown if it has resolved the AC noise issue for most are just getting started in mileage and time.
  11. No. There is no electronic tuner with a P-pump. Not to mention there is no timing advancement with a p-pump. It's a static timed pump what timing you set it for is the timing across the range of RPM. Yes. VP44 injection pump has a dynamic timing and can be advanced as much as 30 degrees before TDC. You can control timing over a wider range of engine load and RPM.
  12. A mod I want to do is use an ISSPro addon relay kit and program the relay to be hooked into the CHECK GAGE light on the dash and send the chime signal. This way I could program the gauge relay to trigger the factory chime and CHECK GAGE.
  13. As far as I know, Quadzilla does not have any audible alarm only visual yellow bar at the bottom.
  14. I see that @dieselautopower has just posted up our High Idle Kit on his website today. There are two places now you can purchase high idle kits now. https://www.dieselautopower.com/moparman-high-idle-switch
  15. Rear drum or disc brakes? Drum brakes could be a rust or corrosion issue in the drum. I had this same problem where it would lock up the rear tires really easy on my 1996 Dodge Ram 1500. The thin layer of rust would be just enough to get the brake shoes to be grabby. Might just pull the drums and inspect the insides for rust or broken parts.
  16. Might of slid the EQ knob panning... No biggy.
  17. Blue top is a vendor here give Ryan a shot. https://mopar1973man.com/forum/195-blue-top-steering-gear/ I've just installed a bluetop as well. No issues to report.
  18. Something to consider. When Windows is ran from a Virtual Machine virus risk is zero to the rest of you computer. Like Linux has Grub for dual booting. Sad part is a windows boot sector virus can still wipe out both machines. So Virtual Machine the the hard drive is a file. Won't affect your native machine at all if infected.
  19. Dorman started production about 2 years ago.
  20. I'd ask @Me78569 to review it. He's the data log guru.
  21. Replacement fan are still in production... https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,2002,ram+2500+pickup,5.9l+l6+diesel+turbocharged,1440064,cooling+system,radiator+fan+blade,6808 As Geno's said... Not true... As Dorman now is producing the fans for fraction of that $300 price tag. In all the years of owning my truck I've NEVER overheated ONCE. Never had coolant temperature issues even towing heavy.
  22. I've got you covered. I'm an Ubuntu Linux guy. What you got to do is download VirtualBox for your Mac. https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads Now on that virtual machine, you install a cheap copy of Windows XP, Vista, 7 etc. Now you can copy the flash file to the desktop of that Virtual Windows and fire it up. Works good for Linux.
  23. Buy a 4th Gen and a Smarty you can have all kinds of gauges.
  24. LOL... MOOG is no longer USA made. It all foreign country produced. It's junk for the 2nd Gens. I won't buy MOOG either.
