  1. Basically its not the alternator but more like the grid heater. High current load for an excessive amount of time overheat the diodes. If you want to upgrade to 180 to 250 amp alternator to overcome the problem but comes at very high price tag. Upwards of 500 for alternator. So in my case I'm using a Autozone alternator now but left my grid heaters unhooked since December no issues to report. @W-T has a great ground wire mod that some report reducing the AC ripple noise.
  2. I would test the alternator for excessive AC noise. When the batteries are weak like that it puts more stress on the alternator and diodes are known to get damaged from overheating. Now that the electrical load is reduced because the batteries are fresh the alternator AC noise will be less but the problem still remains. I would test it just for safety sake.
  3. Here you go... https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,2000,ram+2500+pickup,5.9l+l6+diesel+turbocharged,1361999,fuel+&+air,manifold+pressure+(map)+sensor,11207 https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/CRB227091
  4. @Raffron What year of truck? It's not in your signature...
  5. The best man to talk to here is @Dynamic about the transmission.
  6. Head over to the Quadzilla forum and hang around and ask question tunning information will come.
  7. I'm going to aim for doing this mod soon myself and see what happens too.
  8. Last time I bought a Cummins MAP sensor it was about $135 for the sensor and the 2001 to 2002 wiring adapter.
  9. Dodge is a bronze or brass sleeve.
  10. Test for excessive AC noise issues. Then if you do find an issue, you'll need to replace your alternator then also consider doing this mod too.
  11. Don't worry about it. No pins or bushings to install. I've still got to order them. I'll just get my local body shop to do it.
  12. Also adding distance from the tap point helps. Like my sensor is relocated on the fender with over 5 feet of tubing in between the sensor and the tap point.
  13. I plan it already it just trying to do a job like this without a second person is impossible. I'm most likely take my truck to a body shop and have to pay the big money to get them replaced. Sucks but I don't have many options.
  14. I'm not sure about 3rd Gen what is in the dash for stereo controls. If the truck didn't have the controls in the first place it might be missing the wiring and computer module receiver for the controls. At least 2nd gen you would have to change out the dash harness and the high line central timer. Again I don't know what 3rd gen have for this control.
  15. Time to ohm out the wiring from MAP sensor plug to the ECM.
  16. Hmmm... Is this an automatic or manual transmission?
  17. It will make a difference. All the measurements are from the finger to the ground. Since I'm running 235/85 R16 I'm close to a factory setup. @dripley your running factory 265's right you should be able to hit the nail on the head.
  18. I've got a plastic bed liner in both trucks and it has not caused me any grief at all. No rust yet.
  19. I've already talked to my local body shop about the same thing. Changing the color of my 1996 Dodge Ram. Like her warned me you'll have to basically disassemble the truck to get all the old red color covered which cost much more to do. Sticking with the stock / factory color makes it much easier and cheaper to do a paint job and make the truck look right. Something about opening the door on a used truck and find blue door jamb on the driver side, red door jamb on the passenger side and the truck is painted brown.
  20. LOL... https://mopar1973man.com/contact/ Everything about me and where I live... I've even included a photo. Google Map directions. Heck, I made it easy to even click my phone number and dial your cell phone. I'm registered with the Great State of Idaho for DBA of Mopar1973Man.Com. I'm also registered with the Great State of Idaho for Sale Tax permit. Trust me if they wanted to spy on me they would of already. Am I worried no... Can they track me with my cellphone sure. They will find out the very same thing I tell everyone else they will see that I'm taking care of MoparMom and dialysis treatments. Waste of Gov't time to track me. A little story about a check sent to me by the Idaho County. It was during fire season and I was busy I told MoparMom to just deposit the check and I would deal with it later. Come to find out there is two Michael S. Nelson in service of Idaho County. The second one is a dentist for the Idaho County jail. I happened to get his check by mistake being I'm employed by Idaho County Search and Rescue. Needless to say, I got a nasty letter from the county telling me I was going to jail if I didn't return the funds. Next day I showed up to the attorney for Idaho County ot return the funds no biggy. The attorney already knew everything about me and all the different things I did. Was I worried nope? Why? I'm proud of the person I am and the service I provide to the local community.
  21. No arguments here. It would be nice if everyone had those conditions. Like myself I'm self-employed. Not going to happen here.
  22. Any error codes? Might fill out your signature so we know what year of truck and modifications you've got. Just of the top of my head sounds like a crank sensor but I don't know what year of truck your running.
  23. For my 7 x 0.0085 injectors, I need at least 17-19 engine load to hit 20-22 MPG. Bigger the injectors the lower the engine load has to be.
