  1. Read up on this... Monitor & Set Conditions Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal is monitored when no VSS DTCs or Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) errors are set. DTC may be stored when CCD vehicle speed indicates greater than 20 MPH for 2 seconds, ECM vehicle speed indicates less than 10 MPH and PCM does not receive a VSSsignal from Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) module. My first though is to check for excessive AC voltage from the alternator. If there is excessive AC noise it could be fouling the CCD network and the computers are not seeing the speed signal correctly.
  2. I'm still using a older Fluke 75 with no issues other than my probes are getting rather wore out.
  3. Some say the Cummins water pump is the best. I'm still on the OEM water pump and closing in on 283k miles and ticking with it. No issues. The magic bullet that I know of is going to make sure the cooling system is completely flushed out and clean, and new coolant is used. If you just reusing old coolant it might have enough debris in the block killing the seals and bearings in the water pump.
  4. OMG... Man I remember that name well. One person I never got along with.
  5. Remove the alternator fuse and disconnect the field lead go for drive. If the problem is gone the the alternator is bad. If it still there the a.c. noise is coming from another device.
  6. Some say only automatics. I personally say it can include manuals.
  7. Edge tuners have boost fooling even turned off. Remember it just stock fuel map at that point so fuel is going to limit out on the top end anyways with the tuner turned off. Unhooked then is different story it Will be without boost fooling.
  8. A/C will not have an impact on AC Noise from the alternator.
  9. Signature can be change in user setting in the upper right corner. Then select signature. Edit away... There is also the garage area for more in depth. 10. Go over to your username in the upper right and select user settings, then next screen select signature on the left. Then fill out your signature with that information. AC I'm asking about is AC voltage noise not A/C as in Air Conditioning.....
  11. TQ management will be in effect from 0 to 20-25 MPH so speeds below that TQ management will kick in limiting power during the burn out. This is normal.
  12. Would help to full out you signature with all you mods. Might be other things dragging the train down.
  13. I've been in several trucks with several different exhaust setup. All I can say is the larger the pipe typically the louder the exhaust becomes (outside measurement). As for cab sound levels, all depends on the pipe where it exits at and this will change the amount of noise or drone levels. I've seen 5" pipe trucks drone so bad that the owner and myself couldn't talk in the cab at all even on level ground at 65 MPH not towing. It got worse towing you would need ear plugs. Tips tend to amplify the exhaust note at the tip like an announcer yelling through old school megaphone. So if you're looking for quiet, smaller pipe diameter typically are quieter and muffler typically will kill the drone and noise off.
  14. Measure the AC voltage at the BATT terminal of the alternator while idling. Make sure to read the note at the top of my article. Before Testing - IMPORTANT PLEASE DO NOT SKIP! Before doing any testing of the alternator for AC noise, make sure to remove any and all wiring modifications. Return the electrical system back to stock. Make sure there is no extra grounds, relocation of ground wires or noise filters installed before testing the alternator. It has been brought to my attention that wiring mods can and will provide false passing grades for the alternator. The entire electrical system should be left stock and unmodified so you (the owner) are alerted sooner to impending alternator failure. Stock system will show AC noise issues much sooner than modified system which will mask the issue and then typically cause damage to ECM, PCM or VP44 sooner. Typically it is the diode pack that causes problems, but there is bearing issues and brush and slip ring issues too. That will also cause AC noise problems.
  15. So far 5 people... Geez out of 3,000 members all I can get is 5 people?
  16. Loss of compression in a cylinder I'm still going to say a damaged piston.
  17. LOL... When you had to adjust so many that the first 2 turns do nothing that means you've done the adjustment 16 times and got no change to the slop in the steering gear box. So if you start from tight and set your slack adjustment you can normally do it in maybe 2-3 adjustments.
  18. There is only two things required to start. Compression and fuel fired at the right time. Question, is do you have good compression in all cylinders cold? Also is your fuel pressure 7-12 during cranking? If higher it might cause issues starting. I know larger injectors don't atomize well in the dead cold so they can have hard start issues because of large droplets don't convert to vapor very well. I would highly suggest you ditch that "noise Filter" and fix the alternator. Good, way to fry your ECM, PCM and VP44. First off, I don't even need grid heaters to start at +30*F. So if you having trouble at this warm of manifold points to compression and/or injector quality. Second off the IAT can only measure a maximum temp of 240*F. Beyond that its going to toss error codes. So I'm wondering how you measuring manifold temperature being even my truck never shows a burst or sudden increase. Again white smoke can be caused by... (Stanard FSM check list) Check for air in fuel system. Check for coolant leak into combustion chamber. Check for DTCs set or intermittent DTC malfunctions. Check for block heater malfunction in cold weather. Check for engine coolant temperature sensor malfunction. Check for ECM not calibrated properly. Check for clogged or defective fuel filter. Check for poor fuel quality. Check for fuel heater or fuel heater temperature sensor malfunction. Check for malfunctioning or loose fuel injector. Check for fuel injection pump malfunction. Fuel injector restricted or blocked fuel injection or supply lines. Check for fuel transfer pump malfunction. Check for Intake/exhaust valves not adjusted properly (tight). Check for intake manifold heaters or intake manifold air temperature sensor malfunction. Check for internal engine damage. Typically it's going to lead back to weak compression (not enough compression heat to ignite the fuel) or the injectors or just so large in droplets the compression isn't enough to get the droplets to convert to vapor to go BANG! So I know you have done all these modifications cam, etc. But simple things could of be over looked and creating issues.

  20. I've seen several Sport Headlights with HID bulb sets. I'm pretty sure this are not going to work very right? https://www.amazon.com/Dodge-Truck-Package-Headlights-Ballast/dp/B012ER0YBQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1485364810&sr=8-3&keywords=2001+dodge+ram+sport+headlights
  21. Keep coming... 4 isn't many so far... That's what I'm looking at. I want enough votes and people wanting to buy shirts that I can actually buy a good inventory of shirts and be able to sell some right off but then only order what is selling strong. I'm wanting to have tee-shirts, long sleeved shirts, and possibly a hoodie. This is dreaming big but gotta start somewhere. Between the initial vector artwork, purchasing the shirts, and getting printed it can get rather pricey fast. That's why I'm looking for number of votes first. Because there is no sense in investing into the artwork and only printing a few shirts. Like @JAG1 did the stainless badges and I still haven't sold the 10 he had made 2 years ago. Like I had 10 of both size stickers made still can't get them sold either after one year... So you can see why I'm looking for votes...
  22. Some of them I do backwards. I run the adjustment in as far as it will go and the back off about a full turn. Way faster that 1/8 turn, check, 1/8 turn, check, 1/8 turn, check, etc.
  23. Is this tested under load? I would like to know what your WOT pressure is.
  24. LOL... I want to play with mine so bad but got to wait for the snow to leave. I'd really hate to get snow into the electronics and have a crazy flight due to moisture in the electronics.
  25. Age of person or... Age of membership? Age of membership the oldest active member would be Dorkweed at a join date of 08/21/2007 or 9 years, 5 months, 4 days.
