  1. The truck pulses power to the lift pump on startup. If you want to see startup pressure you need to remove the fuel system relay and then turn the starter over. The truck won't start but you will be able to see the pressure. As for the 1688, it probably means the pump is bad. Buy one from someone who has a warranty you trust.
  2. I have one of these turbos in my shed I paid 150 for. You can have it for that.
  3. I would add replace your APPS sensor around 100k. Probably as often as I look at the valve lash.
  4. I have an awesome transmission guy in Groton. Joel at Stop and Go Transmissions. Where are you in the state?
  5. Is the trans in safe mode? You think it is shifting everywhere but 1st?
  6. You would need to take the fuel system relay out to test fuel pressure when trying to start. The truck sends a on/off signal to the pump when starting. If you take the relay out you can measure the pressure without the pump cycling.
  7. Is the 80 a srw? A lot of people make this upgrade. The 80 has disk brakes right?
  8. My wife rolls coal on them whenever she sees them. True story.
  9. I have never had the problem again after adding the in line filter.
  10. That silver screw on the back of the pump means it is the old version of the pump. They gave me a new one for free when I had that model. If you don't have power to the pump you have a computer problem. You can jump the pump directly from the battery and the pump will run. Just make sure you undo the jump when you turn it off.
  11. Oh yeah? Well I drive my truck over cliffs with my EP (exhaust parachute).
  12. Then should we keep govt out of banks too? I don't think the govt is in the dr's office anyway. The law requires you to have insurance because the supreme court said you will eventually need healthcare so you might as well be paid up. The argument is that you will be spending the money anyway so you are encouraged to spend it in a way that benefits everyone.
  13. Camping world? Drive one wheel on a curb so the other is in the air. Check bearings in suspended wheel. Repeat process for other wheel. There shouldn't be any play in the wheel bearings if you move the wheel in and out. If there isn't any play check all the bolts used to attach the axle. Is the suspension torsion axles or leaf springs?
  14. MIke is right. Something is way wrong with that axle.
  15. These things are like $30 in every auto part store.
  16. I use straps a lot. The HD ones used to be much better. The last couple of years they have used thinner metal in the handles. The sad thing is they are still better than anyone else. I am talking about the big yellow ones. I think all small straps are weak.
  17. It isn't a leak under my truck. That is my truck marking its territory! My truck doesn't leak, it sweats horsepower!
  18. It's call the shift enhancer. The thing also changes shifts points a little bit to help with shuttle shifting.
  19. I replaced one of these once. I think transtar has them.
  20. I have some gizmo from dtt on my third gen that increases line pressure.
  21. Napa has the best thermostats. I get mine there and they are rock solid. Is your coolant level good?
  22. 275's are 40 hp. You should change out the turbo first. The hx is way better. It is almost mandatory for better towing.
  23. I just looked at your build page. That thing is sick.
