I thought 40lbs was the over under for head gasket damage.

Auto trans build upcoming... Opinions & experience wanted
I put this setup in my truck. It is super smooth. There were no holes drilled in my VB. http://www.dieselram.com/archive/index.php?t-173842.html I would call that dude if I was you. He can set you in the right direction.

You are right on there. I know you want to go 70 up every hill and I admire that in you. I hope you blow by me one day going up some hills.

I have a goerend tc at 2000 or 2200. If you want to spool faster keep the number higher. As for the VB, you can take care of that yourself. Don't waste money on a built one. Find Tim Holt in Arlington, TX. He is THE 47re guru. You can search his advice on the net.

General performance question while pulling trailer
I run my CR totally stock without gauges. It has 300k miles of heavy towing on it and nothing has ever broken.

Im on the road actually. This is my busiest time of year. The 53 probably has 1.2m on it. No way to tell. My 05 has 300 and I drive that most of the time. i just bought an 06 dually today. I am looking forward to driving that.

I never really go over 20. If I cant hold OD there I let it slow down to 50, downshift to third, and hold it at 20. I can climb almost anything like this. I try not to wear out my transmission too fast.

Coolant flushing
I think towing with 180 is great. The truck begins cooling sooner. When you on the road it runs at the same temp anyway. I think it really helps you on long hills.

Tires
I run Michelin LTX/AS and I get over 100k on each set.

I've towed a little. I have also replaced the head gasket twice. My thought is that it is not very smart for a lot reason to tow at 30 lbs of boost. The head gasket is no where near the most expensive thing you will break.

Brake Controler Install
The brake controller plugs under the dash next to the 100 pin connector. In the bed you have to splice in your own 7 wire connection.

Class V Hitch Recommendations
I run a Cequent 45010 class v hitch. When I got it it was the only class v hitch that had a 2" receiver. Cequent is the parent company for draw tote, Reese, and hidden hitch.

ECM P/N Issues
I bought a rebuild today for $695. Put it in and my trucks runs great. It would have been $395 if I had sent my computer in. My truck us a work truck so I didnt have that kind of time. This price included the flash. They asked me for my VIN and mileage. It was a pretty easy install as well.

Well things just went from interesting to much worse... Raptor died, VP as well.
