  1. Truck has been garaged or not driven every winter for the past 3-4 years. I don’t think I’ve changed the filter in 2-3 years because I don’t put many miles on it...lesson learned. Only driven once since filter change, and no pinging and panging noise from my truck. Very interesting. I’ve been thinking it was my torque converter this whole time. Maybe it was injector or vp44 noise from inadequate fuel, only in 3rd and 4th lockup.
  2. Just changed my fuel filter, it was black, can't remember the last time I changed it. Fuel pressure was dropping with acceleration and boost wouldn't go much above 25psi, which it shouldn't with the fuel boss. Black granulars in the stock filter housing. Truck sits all winter and doesn't get used a whole lot in the summer, so I'm guessing there's algae. Anyone experience this? What's the best product to run? Bio Kleen? I'm going to change the filter again in a week or so and see what it looks like.
  3. I just replaced some Rancho RS7000MT monotubes with Monroe Reflex Light, much smoother ride unloaded. I spend most of the time empty or very little weight, so a softer shock was better for me. I did some hand compression and rebound tests with both shocks, the Rancho monotubes required more force for compression and rebounded much slower the monroes. I think it comes down to personal preference and use. Ranchos MTs were so stiff the truck rode like a brick on rough roads
  4. Mine hits my ATS 3 piece as well
  5. Aye. Rockauto. Every suspension site has them, increased capacity weight and height.
  6. Back to this topic again. I put plow prep coils/extra capacity coils on my truck a while back, thinking I was going to put a ranch hand bumper on and $1200 for a bumper just isn't in the budget anytime soon. Plow prep coils are just too stiff and too tall, I'm either putting my stock coils back on or putting some new coils from NAPA or Rock Auto on. Has anyone replaced their coils with new stock height coils? I'm trying to achieve a smoother ride. Truck is mostly a weekend warrior and not loaded heavy. NAPA has some for single cabs and extended cabs and I'm thinking of getting the single cabs for the reduced spring rate. I'm also running Ranch monotubes shocks which are pretty stiff. May get some Monro reflexes. Any input? # Coil Spring Coils 8.05 Coil Spring Free Height 18.09" Coil Spring I.D. 7. $175 or $185 with free shipping from XDP. 2 year warranty, factory tested. We'll see how it holds up.
  8. Defective NAPA reman pump off, new Borgeson pump on and I have complete power steering at idle and power brakes!
  9. I'm taking my plow prep coil springs out and putting my stock ones back in this weekend. Front end looks stupid with a 2" lift and 265 tires and truck rides like a brick. No extra money for that ranch hand front bumper I was planning on getting. I downsized from 285 to 265s.
  10. Hopefully replacing my power steering pump tomorrow. There is a threaded pressure line at the bottom of the pump and then I think 2 return lines to the pump from the booster and gearbox. If they are both return lines, does it matter which stub the hoses are attached to on the pump? I was reading IBMobiles filter article and I may have my return lines crossed, but in theory it shouldn't matter. I also have a filter on the line coming from the booster to the pump where IBMobile has it on the line from the gearbox?
  11. I've changed the oil and filter in this thing twice since new last fall, and now it is leaking oil from everywhere possible. Everywhere there is a gasket, fill tube and dipstick area, all leaking oil.....not major, but enough. Can I assume the crankcase is pressurized? and can I add a breather like our trucks or do I have to spend money and replace the pcv valve? From reading online it looks like the fuel pump requires vacuum from the engine to suck fuel, but I don't know diddly about little engines.
  12. Mine sounds like bells/metallic, only when TC locks at lower rpms. Same thing just annoying. My single disc didn’t make this sound, only the triple.
  13. Forest green is my favorite too but I would stick to factory red
  14. Mine was functioning last time I used it, just making a clicking noise. I have vacuum everywhere, so I'll just replace the actuator and inspect everything.
  15. I think I need to paint the center caps... and I went from 285/75r16s to 265/70r17 and the wheel combo weighs 5lbs more! Oem wheels heavier?
  16. The beauty of smaller injectors and a box is you can always turn the box down and rely just on injectors and stay cool. I'm running 50hp injectors and quad xzt and it is all I need for anything. Soon to put my edge comp back on because the xzt make my truck run rough with either the 1000 or 2000 tune. 350hp is plenty
  17. Yes loctite on TC to flexplate bolts. I thinks its 35-45 ft-lbs. installing a new aftermarket TC? If so, use only 6 supplied bolts.
  18. Guy I used to work with has one on his 06’ dually, same story. But goodbye to $2,000
  19. https://goerend.com/goerend-47-48re-transmission-pan-kit/ No complaints about my goerend
  20. Reman parts could be junk too. I have napa reman power steering pump and I have no power steering at idle or low rpms.
  21. That looks like a 12v california exhaust manifold with egr. You have a 24?
  22. FTE resonator eliminated drone on my 5" exhaust. With resonator and muffler, the exhaust is quieter than the engine
