  1. The 15*F reference came directly from the Firestone site ride rite section specs, if they were not mounted inside the coils I would not be as concerned. The Good Year bags are good for----from TLC site "The official temperature range of the air springs from Goodyear is -67F to 156F (-55C to 70C). In cold weather, we suggest using nitrogen instead of plain air to fill the air springs. "
  2. I would stay away from a 64 mm, stick with a 62mm71/14 if possible it will give you a good all around for your needs and still be a good daily driver., you would not be happy with a 64 if you daily drive it. Scheid under rates their injectors too, what they sell as a 100 hp is closer to 125+.I have never seen the first one you listed th cheetah can't give any feed back on it, stick with an s300 base turbo. I have heard a lot of bad about the s330 frames. If you do any drags you had better have at minimum a billet output shaft in your tranny. You will be fine sled pulling but drags are hard on shafts./ you will be in the 500 hp range.
  3. I wish I would have looked at it closer, I think it had montana plates on it. It was just one of those what the heck does he have going on there moments and twist my neck looking as I walked by his set up at a rodeo this summer, so I had to ask him a few question in passing.
  4. Did you miss the link and 2 videos in post #5? Nothing I can supply can come close to the dozen or so pics in the link and two videos of a Ram 1500 coil suspension in action.
  5. Bushing...............always a bushing on automotive applications, they last longer and give fewer problems.
  6. http://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/hc-sandy-hook-report-released1126-20131125,0,3856152,full.story No better way to hide the truth than to tear it all down and bury it.
  7. Seems to be a popular area, there are several members here from that area. I was going to meet up with JohnFak but our travel plans this trip are not going through that area.
  8. Is that a 7 foot or 8 foot wide trailer? Most people in my area are all going to the 8 foot with living quarters for the extra room. I have looked at them and can see why, there isn't much room to start with so that extra foot makes a huge difference.I can't believe you like that trailer with the axles at the way rear, it has got to put a lot of weight on the tow rig and corner horrible.I actually saw one this summer that went to other way, took a big newer toy hauler camper and modified the back for horses. I had to ask him why and he said he wanted more and nicer room for himself but he said a tow hauler is way cheaper than a horse trailer with living quarters, I had to look at some prices and almost fell over at what new horse trailers with living quarters sell for :thud:and realized he had a brilliant idea and saved 20-30K on top of it.Should move this thread to the trailer section.
  9. Welcome aboard, I live about 40 miles from Stanton ND lol.
  10. lol...................like an old timer once told me about his love life "before the invent of those pills they got now mind you". "It's kind of like trying to stuff a marshmallow into a piggy bank"
  11. The Fluid Damper I had on my 02 did awesome things on that engine, It smoothed out the lope considerably from having an HRVP44 combined with 155 hp BD injectors and Hot comp combined with a Smarty for a short time but the smarty wasn't compatible with the HRvp44 for a daily driver, One couldn't hardly drive it, throttle response was so super sensitive and jumpy even on smarty lowest settings.
  12. The more I look at the inside coil system that Firestone has and the air lift has other than a different color I think they are probably close to the same material and since Fire Stone says only good to +15*f I would then assume the air lift would be similar. I am leaning towards the TLC system, the good year bags hold up very well on off road semis with air suspension as well so there is a good track record there too.Not only the cold weather but the abrasion of being in a mud coated coil spring would leave me to believe I would be changing them out quite often and I have read of pavement queens having blow outs with the inside coil bags.Mike has more options since his 96 is a leaf spring suspension.
  13. Check for a stuck waste gate. Fuel and air filters good? Air leaks in the fuel system or week lift pump, does it start and run smooth otherwise? The Air to air coolers make a big difference from what the 1st gens had for sure and it is apparent when your 1st gen get some colder intake air.
  14. I have been looking at different forums and found one that has great reviews and have read about blown bags from ride rite and fire stone with the in coil bags plus the Firestone bags specs are only rated to +15*f and not below. Can't find the specs on the others though. http://www.totalloadcontrolsuspensions.com/TLCforNewDodgeRam1500CSRE-1500-1-2.aspx This one is by far the most expensive at current sale price of $370 and use Good year bags,The official temperature range of the air springs from Goodyear is -67F to 156F (-55C to 70C). In cold weather, Firestones are in the 260 range and air lift 1000's are in the $80 range. This is the first design which was changed to the current design of the second video. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgcvxUvFx_8&feature=c4-overview&list=UUbDvPWfDBi4bBBIjWumouoQ http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=47dyxKsEaxs
  15. OK, wanting to put air bags on my 2010 1500 4X4 Hemi.I have not followed air bag thread very close as I have not needed them for my 2500's but I am wanting to install a Gooseneck ball in my 1500 so I have a backup tow rig since my main trailers are goosenecks, not that I would pull them loaded but would like the ability to move the trailers around and transport them with my 1500 as well.I know there are several brands and I am not looking to install a compressor, I would adjust and set them to a set pressure manually and just want remote access hose and stems for now. What are the best ones for my application keeping in mind that the Dodge 1500 has rear coil springs and not leaf spring suspension.Price doesn't matter as much to me as wanting the best product that will last while being almost totally coated in mud most of the time and 75% of the time runs gravel roads so they need to be abrasion / puncture proof over the long haul.
  16. Agreed and curious at such too.
  17. Yeah can't argue about slowing down in bad weather, we have the worst drivers in bad weather, everyone wants to drive the same speed as they do in good conditions, but the worst in the worst weather and the ones who cause the majority of accidents and don't even know it are the big rig drivers, during blizzards and snow covered roads they blow by folks and snow blind everyone and or just flat force other drivers off the road in conditions when you can not make out where the lanes are and cause many to wind up in the ditch. I have seen this many times and have followed several to get description and or license plate # and call the LEO to report them and where the stranded drivers are in the ditch at to confirm the bad driving.
  18. Mike you have to realize the different kinds of roads across the country also, in the plains states we have "Minimum" speed limits "Usually 55-60 mph" on our interstate roads and other divided 4 lanes with 70-75 mph speed limits coming up on someone going too slow is a just as dangerous as going too fast on winding Mt roads. Heck our gravel county and country roads are mostly 50 mph posted.
  19. :thumb1:Glad you got it, the lines can get hairline cracks or over tightened and distorted.
  20. I run 100% Amsoil in everything I own and am a dealer as well but with my rigs even with full synthetic 15-40 if they do sit outside in the windy -10 and colder even if plugged in will take several seconds to build oil pressure. If I did not use them to tow heavy on occasion and never knowing when I would run 10-30 diesel oil in winter but choose not to as mine sit in an unheated garage or a lightly heated shop at home and I don't daily drive my cummins anyhow but when I do it only sits outside at work plugged in for 11 hours a day or night depending on what shift I am on.On another note I know the 6.0 Power Strokes need 15-40 as 10-30 causes injector issues according to Ford and at least 2 guys I know personally who had injector issues after switching to 10-30 as they run a high pressure oil pump to fire the injectors.
  21. One needs to look at temperature pour points as well. I have pulled drain plugs on equipment at -20 to -35 with standard dino 15-40 oils and nothing came out of the drain hole, stick a screw driver in and pull out the honey. Granted as oil gets used up it does thicken as well but one does need to look at the individual MFG specs for both oil and equipment specs.
  22. Once it is activated it is a done deal, you have it for good now.:thumb1:It had to have been from factory or dealer activated or if a Smarty was ever loaded it is automatically activated then also.
  23. :wink:Sorry Mike, you opened up a discussion that is very broad and to understand it one needs to open up the history and broad range of it, the problem we have is people are too short sited and not wanting to know how things work and or the history behind things anymore. If you dive into this subject it gets really deep really fast and goes back to Roman times. Research these things / terms Corporate Maritime Law straw man Blacks Law Blacks Law Dictionary provides the following definition: Capitis Diminutio (meaning the diminishing of status) In Roman law. A diminishing or abridgment of personality; a loss or curtailment of a man's status or aggregate of legal attributes and qualifications. capitis diminutio minima (meaning a minimum loss of status) - The lowest or least comprehensive degree of loss of status. This occurred where a man's family relations alone were changed. It happened upon the arrogation [pride] of a person who had been his own master, (sui juris,) [of his own right, not under any legal disability] or upon the emancipation of one who had been under the patria potestas. [Parental authority] It left the rights of liberty and citizenship unaltered. Capitis Diminutio Media (meaning a medium loss of status) - A lessor or medium loss of status. This occurred where a man loses his rights of citizenship, but without losing his liberty. It carried away also the family rights. CAPITIS DIMINUTIO MAXIMA (meaning a maximum loss of status) - The highest or most comprehensive loss of status. This occurred when a man's condition was changed from one of freedom to one of bondage, when he became a slave. It swept away with it all rights of citizenship and all family rights. Capite. - Lat. 24. Since your keyboard doesn't work I guess here are a couple of things he talked about or was getting at in his video. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=artificial+person http://lmgtfy.com/?q=indentured+servitude If you listen you can pick out different terms he uses just do google searches from some of them, you will be busy for a long time, like I say he is very well read and versed on laws. If you pay individual income taxes you are a slave to the system as you are born owning your own body and what you do with it or your labor, but when the Gov makes you pay from nothing more than what you earn through labor makes us slaves just a different form as what we think of that the civil war ended by ending physical ownership but thus enslaved the whole of the population with the formation of the federal reserve bank and collecting income taxes.
