  1. Level 0 if I remember right will not smoke at all. Our sled puller running 150hp injectors, smarty, and adrenaline would barely haze on the no smoke tune
  2. Just replace the hydros with hds. Then if your clutch goes out, change it. Not worth the extra money to go back stock
  3. If you have aftermarket hydros, there is an adjustment. If its stock, your hydros might be getting weak
  4. Are you sure its your front brakes? If your drums are out of round they will act like its locking up. (cant tell what year you have)
  5. Never had a single problem changing one side
  6. Actually third gens use flow not pressure. I have seen them start and run on very little fuel I would ask how they tested them. Most likely they did a balance test and that wont help in this situation I know there is a flash on the manual trans trucks for the crank sensor not pickup up right away but cant remember what years it was. I
  7. Did you test injector return?
  8. Is this an auto or manual. I cant read signatures on my phone
  9. You gotta have a special tool to do the test. I would torque the connector tube nuts first and see if that helps
  10. No it will not cause any damage. There is an injector return test. If he had an injector leaking into the clyinders, he would have smoke and a crank case full of fuel
  11. If its still hard starting, most likely you have too much injector return. Its bleeding the rail pressure back into the return and isnt letting your fuel atomize correctly. Try taking all the injector lines off and torqing the connector tube nuts to 37 ft lbs.
  12. Put trigger wire to wiper fuse. Then come back if you are still having hard starts
  13. I dont think there is such a thing. Trucks have a totally different system that i think is very protected. Meaning you have to buy a fancy scanner and the adaptors. When i worked at a diesel shop we had a OTC scanner and like 6 adaptors. A guy i work with says freightliner is making even harder for generic scanners to read codes on their trucks
  14. Did you swap your cam without any other mods? Just curious on mileage improvement. When i had my 06 i wanted to swap cams but ended up selling it
  15. If it runs with the pump on the wiper fuse then run it. Fass is the one that actually says to run it this way for hard starts What way of wiring are you talking about from the blue chip article. I have skimmed through the article but its been awhile
  16. Put the t-case in neutral, that always fools me even when i do it and totally forget i put it there i like the clutch pedal switch
  17. Wire you fuel pump so that the trigger wire is fed from the wipe fuse that way it shuts the lift pump off while cranking. I have been fixing hard start issues this way
  18. Depends on idle time, quality of fuel (lube) and filtration. I have seen 20-30k all the way up to 300k+
  19. I always replace on sets espcially when the pickup will only start on ether. I have replaced single injectors under warranty and you end up replacing more shortly after. Chrysler started sending us six packs of injectors that way there is less of a chance of a come back
  20. 98.5 was 24v My choice is 03-04 6 speed, than 06 mega auto, 98 12 valve 5 speed. I need the bigger cabs to haul the kids
  21. Wire your sinal wire of your airdog to the wiper fuse. I have fixed a couple hard starts by doing that
  22. Verify pressure with another gauge. Kinda wondering if the computer in the vp is going bad. Pour water over the top of the vp when it acts up and see if it starts
  23. I hated a/c and we had the fancy machines. I could never find leaks. Just as hard were evap leaks and the stupid smoke machines
  24. Every 7.3 i know of goes through glow plugs. They are the worst at starting in the cold. Glow plus, valve cover gaskets, and glow plug relays. I see it all the time. That is my personal experience
  25. I think thats on hold if we are talking about the same one
